  1. Came across this interesting true story about an amazing Crime Spree involving NASCAR races and spanning years: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/the-rv-bandit-004524310.html (Click the "Read More" button for the whole article and a video of the criminal in action!) It's regrettable this low-life caused such grief and losses to so many people. Hope he gets the maximum penalties.

    February 2017: General Motors Co.

Sad to see the continual decline of Cadillac sales in their home market. Even the CT6 is not selling well, and its the best looking of the sedans, along with being engineered quite well with the latest technology. I think Cadillac styling still needs to be bolder. It would be great if a few more variants of the existing models were offered, such as Wagon, Convertible or Coupe versions, rather than four Sedan models.
  3. Name: Cadillac Eldorado Convertible (1971) Date Added: 20 February 2016 - 12:39 PM Owner: ClassyEldo Short Description: Second owner since 2004. Kept in original condition and restored where necessary. Highly optioned when new. A true "Black Beauty!" View Vehicle

    Colony Park!

I've always loved the Mercury Colony Park wagon ads that stated, "If Lincoln Continental made a station wagon, this would be it." [Of course there were appropriately staged models and background photographs commensurate with the image sought accompanying this text.] The hideaway headlamps, whose door coverings changed trim almost annually, were a nice feature on these wagons.

Has anyone seen the new XTS commercials?

The XTS ads appear well done, in my opinion. I think the XTS should emphasize luxury and contemporary features--the high quality interior and the ease of using CUE infotainment. There is quite an emphasis on safety features, too. There will be time to develop ride and performance ads relative to the XTS in the future.

    LA 2011: Cadillac XTS: Comments

I can't tell for certain, but it seems as though the 2014 Impala has nicer exterior door mirrors than the XTS--they seem to be more sleek and smaller in pictures? The two vehicles may also look alike due to the short trunk decks--and the Impala design has done a better job of masking the "cab forward" look (or dash to cowl proportion) for some reason. I also wish Cadillac had a few more color selections for the XTS and those were unique to the Cadillac brand.

    LA 2011: Cadillac XTS: Comments

Thanks for the pics, Oldsmoboi! (However, the car shown is beige metallic, not White Diamond color.) Although I like the XTS, after seeing the 2014 Impala shown at NYIAS, it seems there could have been a little more "embellishment" of the XTS. For example, I like the block lettering on the front door and the C-pillar emblem (carried over) on the Impala. Additional detailing like that would have gone far with the XTS's audience, for little added expense to GM. Real world photos show the XTS best!

    LA 2011: Cadillac XTS: Comments

Today the online 2013 XTS Ordering/Reference Guide from GM went online and here is the link: http://eogld.ecomm.g...ID=12962&type=0 This probably means pricing has been set and production is starting? I wonder when the XTS will be arriving at dealerships?

    Fumes: Stop Re-naming My Car!

Changing the names so often confuses buyers and makes it difficult to achieve brand loyalty! The cars that established GM as a great auto manufacturer had iconic names that endured for decades--Corvette, Bonneville, Eldorado, etc. Learn from history, GM!

    Cadillac ATS press photos!

ATS looks fantastic! Kudos to Cadillac's design team! It's great to hear of additional interior color selections! I can't wait to see the ATS Convertible when it comes out!

    Interesting Cadillac Calais Coupe!

Although I usually prefer Cadillacs of the seventies, this unrestored 1965 Calais Coupe looks superb: http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item3f0e0ae7ff To think all this style and class was incorporated into the most "basic" Cadillac offered! This example features power windows (including vent windows), power door locks (with the button being the actual door lock lever high-up on the door), power seat and guide-matic headlamp control. It was in such gorgeous original shape I thought it was a great representation that even the "base" model featured great styling!

    Opportunity rises...

You should investigate with the Lincoln and Continental Owner's Club and the Professional Car Society. Ask the seller for information from any data plates and see who did the coachwork? If it is as rare as the seller claims, it would be highly coveted by some member of either of the organizations mentioned. Hopefully, it will be saved by the proper restorer, and good luck!

    Another Magnificent Seville Elegante

The same seller as the previous thread about a 1985 Seville Elegante has again listed a superb example in an extremely rare color combination: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320731922226&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en#v4-34 This 1981 Seville Elegante is Mulberry Gray Firemist over Bordeaux Red with the Mulberry Gray Leather Interior (Mulberry Gray Firemist was exclusive to the Seville line in 1981 along with its complimentary Leather interior color)and this car features the standard (for 1981) V-8-6-4 engine (more desirable than the 4.1 liter aluminum block engines from 1982 through 1985). I hope the car continues to be preserved in such excellent condition when it gets a new owner! A true example of Cadillac at the top of its game!!!

    Circle The Wagons!

The current generation CTS Wagon is much more appealing and it appears quite well done. However, I think the first generation CTS Sedan is often underrated, since it has proven to be a design with an enduring appeal and really put the Cadillac renaissance on track!

    Another Magnificent Seville Elegante

As for the true wire wheels, they were not a factory option on the '80 through '85 Sevilles until 1985 model year, but they were often installed as a dealer accessory. Side note reply: Every other year I've been on the Car Show field on Saturday, but this year I have another commitment tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. If I go it will not be until Sunday. (I've still got my '71 Eldorado Convertible.) :smilies-38096:

    Cadillac Working On A Convertible?

Modern soft-tops can be rather "high tech:" Witness the Mercedes E-Class Cabriolets, with their multi-layered roofs, lined interior shells, and windshield header deflectors--all done to high standards. Where I find MB has fallen short is in the looks of their E-Class soft-top, it's awkward with the roof up. Cadillac stylists can improve this aspect, for sure!

    Cadillac Seville Elegante

The car is beautiful, although it is tarnished by the horrendous 4.1 liter engine! The special editions such as the Elegante were fabulous--and money-makers for GM! Let's hope the "Touring Coupe" package announced for the 2012 CTS Coupe draws upon this heritage to provide a fully "loaded" car!

Ch-Ch-Changes For The CTS In 2012

There has already been a "correction" to the GM Online Ordering Guide for the 2012 CTS Coupes--the color selections for the Recaro Seating when ordering the Touring Package are as previously offered on the V-Series (i.e. Ebony, Light Titanium and Ebony/Saffron). It was a mistake to list "Ebony with Light Titanium Sueded Inserts" and this makes sense. A 2012 CTS Coupe equipped with the Touring Package will be sublime! :smilies-38096:

    Cadillac Working On A Convertible?

Cadillac should plan to have another convertible model with a true "soft top" rather than a retractable hardtop. It's simply more romantic and plain-old "cool!" The model should have a rear seat, somewhat like an Audi A5 Convertible in size, and it will sell quite well. Distinctive Cadillac styling touches will be the "icing on the cake!" Go Cadillac!

C&T 1971: Mercury Marquis Road Test

One of the few car ads I specifically remember as a child was the one featuring a '72 Mercury Marquis and a famous jeweler splitting a diamond in the back seat while the car drove over cobblestones, etc. I also remember the plush sew pattern of the 1970 Mercury Marquis--my neighbor's wife commented upon how it seemed so luxurious as she sat in it (brand new) but he elected to buy a 1968 Cadillac Sedan DeVille (used)! (It would be the first of a series of Cadillacs, the next one being brand new in 1973, up until 1997).
  21. Pictures of CTS Coupe (non-V-Series) please! Also, CTS's Recaro seats, if any. Thanks!!! :smilies-38096:

Spy Shots: Lincoln MKT Hearse looks to be one swanky final ride

Hideous! Thanks for the reminder to add a codicil to my Will specifically stating my last ride must be in a Cadillac vehicle! :smilies-38096:

2011 Cadlliac CTS Gains Small Upgrades

Those are all very nice "enhancements." Let's see a return of the "Rain Sense Wipers" and headlamp washers, along with the higher level of "ambient lighting" included in the '08 models so equipped. I also think it's time for a turn signal indicator on the door outside rearview mirrors, like the Buick Lacrosse models. As for the 19" wheel package with all season tires, I read it is available on the Sedans with AWD but not the Coupes with AWD--and similarly the Recaro Seats--both of which should definitely be offered on the Coupes! What color is "Carbon Flash?" The color selections need improvement, and a light shade of leather (Light Linen) in the Tehama or Tuscany grade would be a welcome option, too. Keep the improvements coming, Cadillac!

    1989 Cadillac Fleetwood commercial

The yearly model change enhancements for 1989 Cadillacs were outstanding! The 1989 Fleetwood was much improved over the 1988 Fleetwood--and it managed to return traditional styling cues in an updated, more contemporary way. Style reigned as "King" of product development at Cadillac, once again. This is the brand's proven formula for success!
