  1. A beaut.
  2. Well it is Consumer Reports, where common sense is uncommon and endangered.
  3. Glad you are doing good and you are safe after nigthmarish time with the accidents and blow cars.
  4. I think people had slow news day. Given that engineers have went on record of reducing displacement for new LS family, I will take the news with grain of salt. I agree having a V6 turbo diesel as well as the baby Duramax in the truck lineup.
  5. Three of them are different animals. Cayman - MR configuration to me is the most satisfying when it comes to cat-like reflexes and grip. A real surgical equipment to play with all day long without having to worry about killing the patient. Carrera - RR configuration makes it so easy to turn in the corners with confidence. Certainly a class of its own. The last generation I drove did not deserve the high 5 figure price tag when it came to interior, but current generation is miles ahead in that respect, but have never driven one. Corvette - FR configuration has raw brutal power. Beats pavements, corners, chicanes into submission. In Z-06 form it needs solid pair of hands otherwise it will show you who is the boss. That is the fun about it - an ultimate man vs. machine fight, yet friendly enough to spend an entire day driving long distance or being a track mongoose if not pushed to its limit. Given the choice I will have all three of them in my garage. The 3 C's.
  6. Chris, that is one fantastic time. Congrats. I have a real high respect for Porsche and its capabilities. I personally am more of a Cayman fan than a Carrera one, granted I have not driven the current iteration of the 911. Cayman and Boxter is what I would have wanted the Solstice to be, but alas. Pontiac would have been a good "Poor man's Porsche" with no performance sacrifice, but I digress.
  7. A good marketing tool at the west coast where domestics are struggling.
  8. Crude oil energy needs competitor/s period. "We are Gods" mentality of our politicians is destroying the country.
  9. GM already built the X6 in the form of Aztec. X6, ZDX and Juke are its spiritual successors.
  10. First gen X3 was indeed dog even in the 3.0 form. When the MCE occurred, BMW dropped the 2.5 and only used 3.0, bumped the hp to 255. That vehicle was real fun to drive in manual transmission, which I had chance to drive. The new one is a step better, but with no manual transmission. Based on my limited time in the car, I do not think the current vehicles with the automatics match the previous generation vehicles with manual transmission in fun factor. Regardless, BMW vehicles are least in features to price quotient and have lost the driver to machine connection since the Z4 debuted.
  11. Yes. Z-06 is a better track machine than ZR1. Those cars beg to be driven and test driver's limits compared to the Germans and the automated all wheel drive Japanese car.
  12. It should be 16/26, those are zr1 numbers. You'd be amazed all the wrong info you find on these advertisements. Cars listed as automatics, with pictures that show a manual trans, stuff like that. Yes there is a lot of sloppy work that goes in advertising cars.
  13. ^^^ I like that black. Good luck with your search. 14/20 mpg???? Try Stingray Chevrolet - supposedly the second biggest Corvette dealer.
  14. Wow WMJ, you have progressed significantly. I was expecting you to own this.....
  15. AutoCar UK quick review of Cruze Hatchback diesel. Linkity
  16. My guess is the 2.2L with higher output (170hp or so).
  17. This guy built a prototype what he calls a W9 engine though. It's what I had in mind, except for the cylinder count. That is Dubya's Dubya. That is a good concept. High revving three bank engine.
  18. Sprint's device roadmap for the next quarter has been leaked. So, the Proton and the 3D are my choices in the timeframe. Any Windows 7 phone other than Arrive, which better is departed?
  19. Semantics - Dude, that is not W configuration but three finger configuration. You have 4 lines in W with three ecotecs there will be only three lines.
  20. Good news. Let VW feel some heat - make it work really hard for that lofty goal of 800,000 sales by 2018.
  21. The closest you're going to get is a NASA (National Auto Sports Association) High Performance Driving Event. The next closest would be an SCCA Road Rally event, but then again SCCA can't hold an event without making nine different classes to a category, publishing a 1,200 page rulebook for each class and having several hundred officious pricks with clipboards imploring you to get a 1/64" wider battery tie down strap otherwise there will be chaos on the track and dogs and cats will start living together and SOME COMMON SENSE MIGHT ACTUALLY HAVE TO BE USED INSTEAD OF MINDLESS ADHERENCE TO THE %$#@! RULES! AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT, NOW CAN WE? (Get's off soap box) but yeah, check those two out if you're looking for more stock-like cars. When lawyers rule we get more rules. In a litigation happy society it is bound to happen.
  22. Nice Ride. Congrats.
  23. I like the Aussie V8 Supercars series, DTM, BTCC and World Touring Car..they are definitely closer looking to stock (though DTM has gone wild in recent years)...I like how there are Chevy Cruzes in World Touring Car... Of series I've seen in person, the GT class in Grand Am and ALMS races are definitely stockish--Mustangs, Camaros, BMW M3s, Porsche 911s, Mazda MX-8s.. for all-out racing machines I enjoy the ALMS, LeMans, Indy Car and F1 series...(I think F1 finally goes to HD broadcasts next year). +1. That is real racing, and can be affordable for smaller team without huge budget. F1 has lost luster in my eyes - it is European NASCAR.
  24. More than the processor, it is the RAM which Photon is weak in. 1.0G Tegra is not a slouch compared to the 1.2G snapdragon. Unless you are playing chess software or working with autocad, both the processors will give you good performance.
  25. Photon for me too. HTC brought an unbaked product in 3D.
