  2. One less Japanese car on the road. Congratulations on the car. I guess we should start a mini-club for all the Malibu owners on the forum.
  3. Here is the Gingerman track. Looks simple yet has some serious twisties.
  4. Can I fix my SD850? Do you know any company who can?
  5. And Autoshow in Motion. GM needs that NOW more than any other time. Let those consumers DRIVE the vehicles which are getting better every day.
  6. Add me in Drew. I will love to do that. <Marketing Mode> Lives in Sunny Florida - with a nice private race track 3 miles away from me - if testing requires performance testing. Have a place in Detroit, where can directly pick up GM vehicle. An open straight stretch of I-75 - ideal for fuel economy runs. A good suburban road - ideal for city fuel economy runs. Has a 10.0MP digital camera, APS-SLR camera - and in process of buying D-SLR (test drive incentive will drive the desire of getting one soon) Never been pulled over by a cop (not kidding) Previous go-karting experience Motivated, Enthusiastic, Long-term Goal Seeker, Driven <end Marketing Mode>
  7. My point and shoot Canon SD850IS camera does not start. It initially had problems focusing (as BV and DF noted when I took some pictures of my cars). Now it does not even turn on charge even with the battery fully charged. I tried various things like plugging to the computer and trying to start, using spare battery, etc. with no avail. Do you know any place which will fix it and how much do you think it is to fix? I like the camera for the simple facts that it was handy, had a view finder along with the screen and had great image quality - something which was must for me while taking pictures in the field. I do not want to spend close to $300 for a new one of similar capability as I would rather invest that money to get a DSLR if the 850 cannot be fixed cheaply. As for the DSLR cameras, which one would you choose - Canon EOS T1i or Canon EOS 50D? Based on what I have researched, it seems like Canon DSLR's seem to be ahead of the game compared to others'. Do you recommend something else? I will possibly get an advance lens with the DSLR camera if I had to get one. I was thinking about a 55-250mm lens, which can be a versatile lens that can stay on the camera for a variety of pictures. I might get a wide angled f/1.8 later in the game, but it is not a priority. Any thoughts?
  8. He has like 3 COE's, all of them seem to be in great shape. He has some Studebaker's and other dodo auto manufacturers too.
  9. I do not know if you already know about this website. But it seems like a gold mine in North Dakota. Hot Rod Garage
  10. LCD FTW for a while. I have a 17" Dell Precision Laptop with UXGA LED Display, and it is FANTASTIC. However, the price jump in TV's from LCD to LED does not justify purchasing one with LED. I will recommend Samsung top of the line 7 series with 240Hz frequency if you want picture quality almost on par with LED at lot less price.
  11. Welcome to the site and happy posting. Yes, China's Buick Regal has the LNF 2.0 that makes 220 odd hp along with the other N/A mill, which has not gotten better reviews from the magazines. However, most of us feel like US version will get more powerful version following the trend of TSX, Mazda6 and other vehicles.
  12. Go to Discount Tires and see what they have to offer. I have had 4 sets from them so far for all of my vehicles. They have given me a great service. I think for your XE the standards are 225-R-17.
  13. Chris, This is indeed a great news. Sam, are you still interested? I think to have more fun and make people enjoy this event, we should ask a few more people who want to drive but do not have funding for the complete race should just pay for the driver's fee, that way lot of people can be part of the racing. We have about 4 months getting into the race, so hopefully we should clobber something together.
  14. +1. The car will have speed, the most important thing is it gotta be nurtured for the 24 hours of brutality.
  15. It seemed like a vintage car rally or get-together in a strip mall parking lot on 14 mile and Gratiot in Detroit yesterday. Saw a bunch of 1960's GM vehicle. Saw one of these in blue in Clinton Township yesterday. I was driving company vehicle - so could not flick my camera phone.
  16. I guess we have a car.
  17. That is some serious stuff from the Patriot. It is a good vehicle. I have driven one with 5 speed and it is a decent ride.
  18. German car magazine, Auto Zeitung had a comparison between OPC and S4. Although S4 won comfortably, they were genuinely impressed with the OPC saying it was a solid effort from GM. The cars are almost equal in power with the GM weighing about 300lbs LESS than the 4 circles.
  19. Great ideas so far guys. Do not worry about racing we will have FUN. The idea is to: To have fun To be competitive To make ourselves proud As Stang has been stressing - this is endurance, not power race. The car needs to be a NAVY SEAL, not a WWE fighter. A car which can be beaten the crap out of and yet be easy to fix. Even if it is a heavier sedan, we can take off the back seat and everything we can find and make it as light as possible. I can handle the logistics and everything if you guys want to. Yes, I would want it to be a GM car, because if we are representing C&G, a GM car would be fitting. That may be an exception. Those 924's are thorough race bred horses.
  20. +1. I want GM to unleash the manual transmission mated in at least one SEDAN which is not a Cadillac, on ALL the engines available with it.
  21. This is a good site to get some cheap and good accessories. Chris can get a RV which we can use as our pit vehicle to reduce the cost of accommodations, etc. And since these races are in hotter climates, there is no better time than BBQing. Yes we can definitely look into J or N bodies. Possibly an old F body would not hurt either. The sleeper will be a W body with some modifications to the suspension especially.
  22. Guys. This is not a political forum. Let us stop getting there.
