  1. Whitacre is a clean slate in Auto Industry. His ads were convincing and seems to be amiable and yet goal focused. I agree that he should see a summer or two as GM head.
  2. Remember the statement - Bob Lutz works for me? Now FH is gone - RWD Chevy is BACK - as BL does not work for him anymore!!! Contrary to my initial impressions FH did a better job.

    New Phone

You finally did it? How do you like it so far? Didn't you say that there is a faster version of the phone coming to Sprint soon after Verizon releases it?
  4. You should wait till the Hairy German sings.
  5. The M in GM turns into lowercase in the title.

    &*^%$!!!

A news not known - go to Amazon.com and in the mp3 section search - "free music." You get a lot of contemporary and good music for free that is legal.
  7. Don't worry! Go to Future Vehicles on Chevy.com and you will see the silver one with Fog-Lights.
  8. Burning Donuts in the Solstice again?

    A Database

I understand it is a huge undertaking. I wanted to do this since I became accustomed to GM. I cannot do it all by myself therefore need help, especially when it comes to gathering data. I was also thinking about adding pictures. Let us talk about the format and which one/s would be the optimal in storing and presenting the database.

What other options do I have?

    A Database

I want to put it on the web, but if you wanted to know the background application - I was going to build it in Access. Do you think we should put it on C&G?

    A Database

Start with MS Access possibly and then go from there. Any thoughts?

    A Database

Let us not worry about the permutations first then. We can concentrate on the base major one and go from there. It is a lot of work, but not impossible.
  14. Sad to see it go, yet congrats. Did you kill the mouse squeaking beneath the clutch?

    A Database

I am thinking of creating a database of ALL GM engines that have been produced since its inception. It has to be exhaustive and should include as much information as possible. Here are few keys I have thought. Engine Name Introduction Date Generation Engine Type Displacement Cylinder Count Fuel Type Bore x Stroke Compression Ratio Peak Power, Torque and respective RPMS. Firing Order Horsepower, Torque vs. RPM curve CO2 emission numbers Applications in GM vehicles Dry Engine Weight Brief History While most of the figures will be handy, the most important data which will be lacking are HP, Torque curve and CO2 emissions. The idea is to have one stop shop for all of us looking in depth about GM engines. If successful, I would love to add GM transmissions and Ford engines databases. Help me on what else to add. Camino, Balthy will know a lot of these engines. Any documentations would be great. The start is to identify ALL the engines chronologically. Any thoughts?
  16. Well the reviewer started with a GM template which CR has not changed for years, added the stuff he saw about the car and kept the ratings unchanged because after million phone calls to Renaissance Center he did not get any checks for CR. The amount of people read this is appalling. The other day I saw a girl from McKinsey reading on the plane and she wanted to buy a decked up Camry V-6 after reading it.
  17. This was the most important aspect for not letting it go. Bring on the 9-1 and 9-3 and a good halo car to support 9-4X and 9-5, with that SAAB would be complete.
  18. You know that Spark does not compete with Fiesta but the Ka, don't you? +1 on this. GM needs solidly good and solid designs in all the categories from Sub-compacts to 3500 duallies. This car looks like an odd one out after seeing what GM has brought over the last 4 years. Spark's concept was not bad but this execution here left me wanting for more.
  19. +1 on those. But the fact remains that the bread and butter goes to the cars which may not come with with salient features you mentioned.
  20. Most of the time those magazines add caveats that they are "enthusiasts" and they test those 4 bangers because they have to - and that is what "people" buy. Honda Accord has been trumping Camry for years in magazines because of its sportiness, yet Camry still leads the sales.
  21. UAE's oil is depleting faster than US treasury's coffers. That is why they are trying to build Oasis, business districts, etc. It is turning to what it was before the oil rush - a sandy dune.
  22. That is a bad job. I guess after releasing beauts over the past three years, GM had to throw out some of its non digested food. GM should put more effort in this segment.
