  1. So... If the CTS is "ready" for a Turbo 4, then why the hell aren't the G8 and Camaro ready for it?
  2. That black SS is screaming my name...
  3. Apparently, it's the FUTURE_OF_GM
  4. +1+1+1!!!!! We actually have a few drive ins down around Charlotte. The one I frequent is a family owned deal that just expanded to two screens. It's a great bargain... $5 for 2 NEW movies plus the thrill of seeing it outside and the privacy of your car. We saw the Skeleton Key there one night during one of the worst storms the place ever had. The cool thing was; the theatre only got lightning and a few sprinkles so it made the movie that much better! I'd love to own a drive in someday. I found a really cool old drive in in Elizabethton (I LOVE that place) TN, still had the old speaker boxes and all! Metrolina Speedway here in Charlotte is for sale. I'd LOVE to buy that place up and open a drive in/restaurant in the middle of the old speedway. Here's a website to find old drive ins: http://www.drive-ins.com/dbdisrch.htm?zipc...;status_op=open

  6. 1) Ethanol should be made from BETTER materials such as switch grass... I really don't understand why the government, the media and the citizens can't wrap their minds around that. 2) Thanks to all of the negativity coming from the media about CORN ethanol, mark my words, people will be too IGNORANT to discern what's good and what's not and thus will kill the entire industry. That will be a shame. GM invested in Coskata and started the Live Green, Go Yellow campaign, and 'surprise, surprise' the media started latching on to the Ethanol smear campaign that is building momentum daily.
  7. MISSION METALLICA UPDATES: July 25: (Not very interesting) July 21: (Not very interesting either) July 14: (Better, but still) July 10: (Has the beginning of a pretty bad assed riff and mentions "Nightmare" as in "All Nightmare Long") July 7: (Pretty bad assed) July 2: (Some lyrics maybe?) June 25: Original teaser: (Now rumored to contain stuff that isn't on the album, but still cool) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pyTrJ6hl90&feature=user
  8. TRACK LISTING: That Was Just Your Life The End Of The Line Broken, Beat & Scarred The Day That Never Comes All Nightmare Long Cyanide The Unforgiven III The Judas Kiss Suicide & Redemption My Apocalypse ALBUM ART: Almost has a death metal feel to it... Which is a very good thing IMO.
  9. +1 Heard the latest? Now you don't even have to be a citizen to go to a tech college. Basically, an illegal can come here, live off of our support systems, get an education on our tab and steal at least a decent paying job without even becoming a citizen. Damn it feels good to be american.
  10. He won't Both the media and the public have already chosen the next president. I mean, he's on a world tour as we speak for gods sake. (Which I think is pretty arrogant) Sadly, I don't think he'll do any better than McCain for this country.
  11. GW + Charisma... Are you kidding me? LOL.
  12. Funny thing is; it's all because of us. I remember during the Clinton years when americans were demonstrating AGAINST free trade with China. But alas, our politicians and the 'global government' WTO (that has the best interests of everyone else in mind) gave them access to everything. An old Navy buddy of mine used to say; "The Chinese must have a picture of Clinton with a 14 year old, or something. They sure got him by the balls." Clinton would do ANYTHING for China. I'm not trying to make this political as I hate each party equally, but 'facts is facts' When they started killing our industries... But since that created a backlash of sorts, they have decided to just destroy our industries through government support and the ignorance of consumers. (Witness: the auto industry) So we're going to take the typical american defeatist attitude and "don't think about it" That sounds about as brilliant as a stoner college kid that would rather party it up than study for next weeks finals. I don't like leaving my future to 'chance' do you? LMFAO... Un-be-lievable! Yes, it certainly HASN'T been a zer-sum game. China has been getting HUGE sums of OUR money. Have you seen the deficit lately? America doesn't make goods anymore... I find it so funny, yet ironic that this article begins by talking down the "wisdom" that got us into this mess and the assumes that very same stance at it's end. Except, they will execute those ideas better. Yep, that's it... CELEBRATE america! As your standard of living CONTINUES to decline... But hey, it's all intribute right? Sounds like an outlaw tribute to me. PROVE IT EDIT: Oh... It's from The Economist... No wonder. These are the same people that said "What's good for Toyota is good for America"
  13. Depends on how you look at it. Pontiac pulls the volume of the channel currently (on the car side) so why would it be? Unless GM is being stupid (Which can usually be counted on)
  14. I wouldn't mind that at all. Then we could put together a Saturn (volume) Pontiac (halo-performance) GMC (mid-lux/niche truck) channel.
  15. The idea of making Pontiac a Scion fighter was kicked around.
  16. Why don't we give the Insignia to Pontiac?!?! It'd make a fine G6 replacement and the 'different sheetmetal' story could be better justified and GM *might* actually get a ROI on that. Saturn could focus on developing small car sales, premium OR hippie/greenie/anti-GM and then Opel and Holden could both prop up Pontiac for now. Maybe the Beat isn't coming because Saturn is getting small cars...
  17. It was just another PCS 'fact'... LOL Too MUCH LIKE the Malibu... *** I'm willing to bet that it might be too close to the Invicta, since it is essentially the same car. Too bad GM is just now realizing this.
  18. All luxury divisions. Apples and oranges.
  19. Exactly! Just like Bob Lutz said; we're focusing on profitability.
  20. If a GM with tons of cash and market strength couldn't develop Saturn into more than a niche brand, what makes you think the current GM can? I'm all for keeping Saturn, I think the division has tons of potential. However, when it comes to eliminating core divisions (i.e. major divisions) it makes no sense to value a fledgling Saturn over a developed and well positioned Pontiac, potential or not. Pontiac has sales and sales mean money and share. Then don't use 'POTENTIAL' as a basis for justifying Saturn. There is just as much 'POTENTIAL' that hybrids and electrics will revitalize the truck market as there is in Saturn becoming a major player.
  21. Unlike PCS, some of us aren't here to gain fans.
  22. Look at what has been said... (Despite what PCS wants you to believe) Pontiac does MORE volume with less product (old, rebadged, etc) than Saturn. Pontiac sales are UP! Pontiac HAS the established dealer network that Saturn lacks and GM doesn't have the $$$ to build. Pontiac has MORE share than Saturn. It's just as cheap or cheaper to rebadge a Chevrolet than an Opel. GM doesn't have the $$$ to phase out divisions. And even Bob Lutz hinted that Saturn is just as in trouble, if not more than Pontiac. Saturn has been given the BEST and most co-hesive product offensive in GM history, yet it still HAS NOT produced results. The brand has little equity and few buyers. If this is all news to GM, then something is wrong.
