  1. I voted "Great! But I would change." I went and test drove a Sierra Crew Cab Z-71 SLT (black) and a Silverado Crew Cab Z-71 LT2 (dark blue). I don't like the Silverado's front end. It's too big and the curve in the middle looks like it could create the Coriolis Effect if the truck ever did a 360 in a parking lot or something. I much prefer the looks of the Sierra. The Chevy also had the "work truck" dash and although it looks great, the area for the ashtray was misaligned on the model I drove. I do love the wheels on the Z-71 Chevy and wish GMC would offer an 18 inch rim for their Z-71 package as well. The thing I was most amazed about was how quiet and comfortable the trucks are. I think they are best in class on many levels, but I hope GM will ramp up 6-speed auto production so they go into the truck quickly and they continually update the trucks with equipment and detail changes to improve both quality of the truck and the perceived quality of the truck.
  2. Looks great! I especially like the different interior treatments. The car looks long, much larger than an Accord/Camry. I will have to wait for final judgement until I get my hands on the interior. I'm also looking forward to seeing a full list of standard/optional equipment.
  3. Very cool! It doesnt have the rep of a Corvette but the Vipe is establishing itself well as time goes on. Amazing that the jump in horsepower is so high in cars nowadays. I remember with 20-30 hp was a huge leap, now jumps are 50 hp and up. I've been a fan of this car and will continue to do so. I was hoping for some more styling changes and interior changes, but this is a sports car for people who just want to go fast and want the Viper name. People don't buy these for interior comfort. They get it for the image and the balls to the wall V-10 under the hood. I think the wheels that are shown on these are cool. One thing about this car is that it is pure American from the big torque/high hp engine to the crude insides. I love it just for that reason, and I'm not even an American anymore (well, just in citizenship, but not in mindset).
  4. This is what I was concerned about with the MMC redesign of this car. No changes to the front and the 300C taillights put in as an "improvement". I expected more and I hope this car is just a mule for the 4.0L V-6 thats going to be standard equipment in the Touring and Limited versions of this car and not an indication of the MMC redesign. While we're at it. I hope they leave out those stupid lines from the hood, too. The Magnum got a more extensive redesign so I am hoping for more once this thing finally arrives.
  5. The technology is new cars is only too much when you have a system like iDrive or some other system where there are menus to toggle through while driving. As if its not bad enough to have people on their cell phones, now we have people toggling through menus. Great! As far as AFM/VVT and stuff like that, I think the progress here is good because it provides more power and efficiency in engines. I like NAV. We have NAV and the usefulness of it is great when you are going somewhere you've never been and are unsure of the location. The voice directions are useful too, especially if you've ever driven behind some slow poke looking for something only to have them slam their brakes on ahead of you and you almost rear end them. Unfortunately, common sense is not so common and those who follow the directions exactly can do stupid things like drive into a river or go the wrong way down a one way street. No fault of the NAV, fault of the driver.

Happy Anniversary. Do you all celebrate that kinda thing here?
  7. ================================================================Yeah, every Toyota, Suzuki, Kia, Hyundai, and Yugo I see. Although I don't see many Yugos anymore.
  8. Bud, you like it thats all that matters. Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.
  9. Sixty8, some things are just better left in the closet.
  10. The SRX sounds like the best vehicle for what she is wanted. Do your magic and get her into one of those man.
  11. ===================================================================================I don't think it participated because they couldn't get a production vehicle ready in time for the competition. I bet it will participate in next year's event. I'm not up on the rules ot MT TOTY competition, but I think it may be eligible. Anyone know their exact rules to confirm/deny this?
  12. ====================================================== Wow. Then I am correct. I get it now. Thanks for sharin your car history. Mine is very sordid and dysfunctional, so I'll spare you guys the details.
  13. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And what would you remind me of Mr. Blu?
  14. I've only been here a short time so I could be wrong, but Sixty8 reminds me of the lady on the block who takes in every stray cat that arrives at her door.

  16. Santa doesn't so much get in the Fiero so much as he puts the Fiero on. Kinda like a coat.
  17. OH MAN! Somebody give her an ice cream cone! QUICK!
  18. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'd take any knowledge you can get. Better to know your enemy better than you know your best friend. It's not like he's makin you pay for this knowledge (although he probably should). My response to thread eight
  19. Anytime a company other than GM, Dodge, and Ford with a full size pickup truck that is bigger than a Tundra with real V-8 power the press is always going to make a stink about it. I think the Titan is overrated because GM/Ford/Dodge have more experience and their trucks seem to do everything well. The Titan is just a work truck and rides like one as well. It's the roughest riding truck on the market, and the interior is cheap looking to me as well. The Corvette is an institution in North America. Any rating it gets is highly deserved.
