  1. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I agree with Northstar here. The time for wagons has returned because people are abandoning their large SUV's for something more fuel efficient. Wagons do sell in moderate numbers (although not at the levels they used to in the antiquated BOF car days), and wagons with AWD drivetrains are especially appealing for offering good cargo space and SUV like traction that people who stay on roads only need.
  2. ocnblu, he said Redrum not Red Rump! You should know better! My response from Mount Gay Lesboa Island
  3. I know what you meant. I've had many different "debates" with devout Honda people, my late brother included. I respect your views on Hondas, and I appreciate the quality and surprising sportiness of them (especially the Accord), but I do think the Odyssey is overrrated. I'm disappointed the new generation did not take a step forward in practical technology like the DCX minivans did. If the Oddy had that feature, I would have named the Sienna my pick for overrated minivan.
  4. Happy Boxing Day to all of my fellow Canadians!
  5. How do you know what I've sat in? Are you with me every second of the day? I hope not. Honda does not have fold flat seats for both rows. They had the first fold into the floor 3rd row seat, but have not yet designed and engineered the second row fold into the floor as well.
  6. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Solstice is a new vehicle and interest is still high. Sometimes it takes awhile for interest to fade unless they keep making big improvements to it, which I hope GM will continue to do.
  7. Toyota Camry - what new ground does it break? It looks like an also-ran to me. Toyota Corolla - just because its a Toyota, does not mean its reliable. Its stale, and if any other automaker let a car linger on the vine this long they would get bad headlines in the press. Toyota Tundra - its not even out yet and its already the best truck out there? How is that possible? Honda Ridgeline - the truck for the anti-truck guy. Huh? Whats the purpose to do it half assed? Honda Odyssey - The benchmark for minivans? The oddity is that this benchmark doesnt break any new technological ground and doesn't have anything as functional as the Stow-N-Go DCX minivans. Toyota FJ - And the media says Hummers are "useless and have poor visibility"? This thing is just a pig. Lexus LS460 - Bland, boring, copied styling, new techno features that are gonna make the new money of the world woo hoo over it. Lacks the class of the Benz and Audi. Prius - There are better ways to get good mileage than this. Hybrids - The cost and complexity of these setups could be better handled by more fuel efficient gas engines. Solstice - a good first effort, but it needs a big boost to be high class and in line with the Miata.
  8. In my opinion, if Cadillac wants to compete with the European brands, then they should bring an executive saloon to market and price it at the lower end of the market. Comparing Cadillac to Volkwagen is like comparing Wal-Mart to Sax Fifth Avenue.
  9. BV, take it from an old homo here, the hardest part of bein gay is before the acceptance of yourself. Now that the hard part is over, you can enjoy meeting all kinds of new people. Take good care of yourself, eat well, take vitamins, and the depression will subside in time. Trust me on this. I've been there. Happy 2007 bud.
  10. oh please, "hard on myself" is my middle name. <G>
  11. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------No, 19. Thats bad enough. You'll have to excuse my stupidness at times.
  12. Oops, I clicked on the wrong year. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
  13. I don't know much about the year on this site since I'm new here, so I thought I'd share my year in review. I celebrated 15 years with my husband/partner Greg I retired from my job after 20 years. My son turned 21 this year and graduated college, and grabbed a great paying job. My daughter turned 14 this year and made the cheerleading squad as a freshman. I bought a new Avalanche LTZ 4x4.
  14. Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas guys!
  15. Beautiful car. That would kick some serious ars as a uplevel Buick around $40K-$50K. That comes here and the hubby's DeVille would be in serious jeopardy. Just bring it guys. . get it over here.
  16. Those "bench seats" are designed for two passengers (one in each bucket) and one person so sit on a flat piece of padded material that is mostly designed for the armrest to sit on it. Sitting in that spot is uncomfortable. So there really are no real bench seats anymore, only split bend seats with two buckets and a center panel that will occasionall accomodate a person in that narrow space. I also have to agree with ocnblu and whoever else stated that there are safety concerns as there is no shoulder belt and the airbag no longer covers the center passanger. I recall the last gen big rear drive Fleetwood having an airbag on the passenger side that was big enough to cover the third passenger. I think the Caprice and Roadmaster, and even the DeVilles of the time having that feature. Anyone else remember those?
  17. I like the interesting idea above about a Cobalt EVO fighter A 4-door with AWD and a turbo'd 2.4L I-4. Would be cool. In my opinion, a supercharged Cobalt SS sedan is overdue. That should have arrived last year.
