On to some positive...

I actually kind of like all three of the current Pony cars right up until the point that I don't. Have lived with the rehashing of a 1960's idea my whole life. Am really really really amazingly astonishingly bone crushingly overwhelmingly ungodly mind bending skull f#$%^&@ ready for something different. Would take a GTI in the new green (sexy as hell IMHO) Golf R, WRX/STI, or a lot of other cars over this. That being said....for what it is....I actually really like it. But a hundred times more ready to have my enthusiasm go a different direction. I actually kind of like it in a way, but as stated elsewhere, I am ready for something different. Given FCA ability to screw things up and persist at Screwing things up, Jeep will be shut down in 2039 given current rate of management. Both cars I have no interest in really even looking at...but I value your opinion so interested in what you think.

Colorado/Canyon is extremely nice product. Were I to buy anything from GM with my own money right now, this might well be it.

Indeed!

I love any bike that looks retro.

I really would like a Ducati...but at 52...I think I am down with owning just comfy cruisers.

That's OK...you get a long distance hug from me in Columbus. I still want a Trailblazer SS. Would tow a trailer when I need it and also haul a$$ when I don't..... Higher speed passenger rail service was overdue 25 years ago. I deeply despise driving across PA. Turnpike is NOT fun to drive...ugh.

Since I am in favor of ending the war on drugs I am quite happy to see that Montreal has indeed allowed hallucinogens...I would spring you some but you seem to have found quite the supply. (Ducks from wrench thrown my way...) (Thankfully Canadians can't aim a wrench any better than they can aim a hockey puck....watches wrench go through neighbor's garage door window) Have a good day my friend! Chris

I am asking Drew to leave this up. I disagree vehemently with Bill but will fight tooth and nail to let him express his viewpoint. Also, let me be clear-I actually want the 6.2 L of Suburban Manly suburban thing to survive in some way shape or form, as does David-you won't find a bigger supporter of SUV's here than David. From a personal standpoint, I would love to see humanity come together, reclaim the Sahara, and use sunlight to grow algae based or plant based stock for liquid fueled internal combustion vehicles. Would love to see things like the Boeing 777 and Airbus 350 keep flying even after the stocks of natural petroleum are (eventually) depleted. And now for the counter point...just because people want to spend their money on something does not make it moral of right. There would be a huge market for child porn if it was legal.

Yeah, but if she was buying that house, she would notice everything and demand a price concession. https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/d/2001-z06-corvette/6535747828.html

After driving the Fusion hybrid on a recent road trip both comfort and safety would probably push me to something larger. I still really like the Sonic though. Having driven by and even witnesed fatal accidents. In my years of driving I might well agree.- 34 replies

VW News: 2019 Volkswagen Jetta To Start At $19,395*
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
IIRC don't really remember but I think my TDI Jetta still had the torsion beam rear because they needed room for the urea tank. Friend has a nearly new Gasser Jetta and it is a decent little car.- 9 replies

Yeah, and my Tax return check will be here in about 4 days, electronically filed about two weeks ago. Biggest thing now is I am trying to save every freaking penny because my son (younger son) is in college and would like to spend part of his Junior year abroad. The above mentioned 19 year old son and my 17 year old daughter will both need cars.- 34 replies

Honestly probably the most helpful thing I have read here in the last 3 months. Sold the MINI Cooper S awhile back and have not replaced it. Do not want another convertible (Miata, Ohio weather) or RWD (FRS, Ohio weather) or German (BMW parts prices and reliability, Cooper S) for next daily driver. Still want a little bit of a go kart of a car. Will check this out, seriously. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=477930635&zip=43209&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D43209%26startYear%3D1981%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26endYear%3D2019%26modelCodeList%3DSONIC%26makeCodeList%3DCHEV%26searchRadius%3D25&startYear=1981&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&endYear=2019&modelCodeList=SONIC&makeCodeList=CHEV&searchRadius=25&makeCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=SONIC HMMMM.... Versa would make me nervous. This is actually a really helpful conversation because I have two children getting ready to drive/buy first cars. Sonic is a VERY attractive buy from a price/fuel economy/reliability standpoint. Thought about buying a Fiesta ST when we bought the Beetle but the small size of the Fiesta made me nervous. Kid (Jeff) in my pic here took out a large telephone pole with his Fiesta ST, totaled the car but he lived. But seriously...even Encore felt a little small to me. Really liked it when we looked at it. Oddly never felt unsafe in the Miata, but I think that was just the testosterone poisoning of "I can avoid anything, I am superman" playing as a script in my head. Interesting also from the article above...Ford getting rid of Taurus and Fiesta. That would leave Ford with the Mustang, (sports car obviously) and the Focus (small sedan/wagon.) They would then be very similar to Subaru, with mostly SUV vehicles. legacy sells in fairly small numbers wonder if it will go away like the Taurus?- 34 replies
