  1. I think a V sport is kind of unlikely, sadly in terms of the Escalade. Actually, I think the BMW brand name has lost some of its luster, which should make it easier for everyone else. Benz will continue to sell well, but it again is a brand that has zero emotional appeal for me.
  2. This is a GM forum, please show more respect for 90's Buick models.... The "Oatmeal" edition...in white only...because adding the color "Brown Sugar" would be too exciting for the brand at this point... ...and for the German car fans here who would not be able to understand differently....both of the above are sarcasm...sort of....
  3. Autocross is for fast drivers, drag racing is for fast cars! You wouldn't be yawning if you were trying to find a few hundredths for the last run of the day...
  4. Ohhh absolutely...an American luxury car Renaissance...
  5. Cue the sheep complaining that Cadillac is doomed because it does not offer enough crossovers...
  6. Watch the Video...Impala I think...both of them lived and should be fine!
  7. I am really tired of people seemingly trying to "slut shame' our domestics by the old he said she said every time one of them has a bad month or has to up their fleet numbers or put more money on the hood of a particular car. No one else on the planet runs a full product line that markets to average every day people like GM and Ford do. VW kind of does with Porsche, Audi, Bugatti, and the like but much of their product is high end low volume, and they are not building things like heavy duty pick up trucks and the like. Having all of the engineers and plants and products gives GM and Ford tremendous opportunities but it also gives them tremendous burdens in terms of keeping assembly lines running, vendors and contractors paid, employees happy, product fresh, dealer network pacified, stockholders out of outright revolt, public Image fresh, and the like. I think among American companies both GM and Ford are among the more ethical of the bunch in terms of everything from labor relations to the environment to community responsibility. Neither is perfect, but both of them are made up of humans who are wildly imperfect. Not saying this in relation to you at all CP-the nerd, as I have a tremendous amount of respect for your posts and your insights. I have just personally chosen to put the negativity of domestic hate/slut shaming/laughing at our domestics behind me. From a car lovers prospective, it has made a huge difference in the way that I look at cars. Now instead of looking at something like the current generation Camaro or the Lincoln Continental, neither of which is everything I want it to be...I am just happy ford and GM are building these cars at all. My next car will probably be a BRZ or a GTI, so I have no Horse in the race (pun not intended with my screen name). But I am going to spend every minute I can for as long as I continue to live being a fan of what our domestics do right rather than complain about what they do wrong. Not that I won't have a little sarcastic fun from time to time like I did in the Demon thread... My two cents, thanks to everyone who read this far.
  8. Agreed. A big part of the fun back when I was running it was how close the competition was...often it came down to hundredths or thousandths of a second.
  9. ...agree on the choice thing...and maybe I need to drive an SI before I lay down cash...
  10. In a post apocalyptic world tree bark can also be used as toilet paper.... ...they are also more feminine than Hillary Clinton, Ann Coulter, or Kellyanne Conway so you get a two for one deal with the Klingons.
  11. Depends...we actually did an experiment with a highly modified Acura Integra running it with and without the wing. Running it at even low speed with the wing made a small but noticeable difference, even accounting for different drivers and different track surfaces. I was thinking more along the lines of the Ecoboost Mustang actually. For every day driving, the GTI, WRX, Ecoboost Mustang and the like are much more livable. The few cards the BRZ has it plays very very well though.
  12. I will trade you Romulans for my current elected officials. Not even close...
  13. The current BRZ is a decent car. If interior quality is what you want, buy a Mustang, it is orders of magnitude better in the interior department.
  14. I can't think of anything nice to say....so i am going to be a good boy and go back to work instead...
  15. The dozens of people running autocrosses on Sunday morning. It's not an SUV, so... I still really like the car, but the power is indeed underwhelming.
  16. Great, they can relive the 1970's Super Stock nationals with Sox and Martin. Nothing like living 47 years in the past to show you are capable of building cars people want in 2017. That little bit left that hasn't been outsourced or sold to foreign companies, yes.... There is this company called Ferrari that is Italian....they have built a fast car or two over the years. Rumor is people even pay stupid sums of money for old ones. Fake news is about all we have left... They are going to be a historical company rather than one rooted in one particular country given a few more years of Sergio.. Moving to a place where prostitution is legal is probably good if you are going to whore yourself out as a car company...
  17. Without delving into politics any further than we need to, we pretty much have a thirteen year old boy in a mans body in the white house, and another 13 year old boy in a man's body in leadership in North Korea. We have seemed hell bent on marginalizing and invading Iran for a decade or more, and the middle east is less stable every day. Putin is a wild card. Both parties pretty much are owned by the corporate state. We have very little in the terms of a press or journalism in this country that is connected to reality in any way. The average American voter is either as dumb as a box of tree stumps or a bar of soap, given the day of the week. We have lots of nukes, as do lots of other countries. Maybe the Voluntary Human Extinction movement (a real thing, google it) isn't so voluntary...
  18. Enjoy and would love to know your thoughts on any of the above cars. I am buying a car in a couple of months and feel really unsure of what to do.
  19. We live in a post truth world where reality doesn't matter...
  20. Perhaps, I still see a really good chance for this whole thing to fall on its face and go boom...
  21. We live in a post truth world now....might as well live in one without currency also...
