Ultimate Dream Car Garage: Road Trip Edition
A Horse With No Name replied to ykX's topic in The Lounge
For me personally, I would choose a John cooper Works MINI Cooper S for the new car. Used, BRZ Subaru. Not really interested in creature comforts, not going to do a cross country drive on inter-state highways, I want something for the rural roads I will drive. Who said you would spend 8 hours a day driving...I am going to enjoy the trip...and take two weeks of vacation to do it. I would gladly take a few suspension mods on either choice and compete in a couple of Autocross events as I went across country...the car seat might not have extra padding, but my 51 year old backside surely does! -
Gorgeous! I always wondered what would have happened if Ford had continued the modern design language with the 2005 Mustang. The 99-04 cars are the most Modern/Contemporary Mustangs, and also have the fantastic modular v8 exhaust note. They are a hard thing to not fall seriously in love with.

The 03 Mach is a very nice car, kind of jealous you actually got to own one. Thinking of finding a Mustang of that era used, but my wife is not into Mustangs.
-
Lot of car for the $ with the Encore, glad that seems to be working out well for you and Albert.
-
Quite the impressive vehicle. having driven one, i was very impressed, especially with the handling.
-
Gorgeous photography, and that thing keeps getting better with age.!

Nice to have a choice of vehicles in the household....glad the Malibu is working out well! Good, I hate car payments. Glad that is working out well for you also...!

Currently $359 for a Jetta TDI, but that does not really count as I get what I laid for back when I turn it back into VW for the settlement. So every payment made is money in the bank, given that it is a zero percent loan. Only other cars I had payments on were my Mini which was about $250 a month and the Miata which was $190. Paid both cars off after a couple of years, do not like car payments. Balthazar...what happened to the wife's Malibu? When I suggested a Chrysler product back in the day I was hoping for a Challenger. And yes, almost all of my cars have been cash deals, I really dislike banks.

Would You Rather: Real or Imitation Edition

Neither. Give me a dead stock final year fiero GT in good condition and call it done. For a Lamborghini, give me a vintage Miura or a modern car. Countach IMHO should be home up as a movie prop, preferably destroying as many original cars as possible. -

3 cars I adore. Desktop was one of the best designs of the fifties, Studebaker is wonderful, and you know my feelings about 60s Pontiacs. Hurst Olds is wonderful! -

Agreed, by Audi's designs are sharp and athletic, Benz by comparison is soft and a little bit bloated. I have the same problem with Infinity and their styling. -

Holy Jesus Mother of Mary this is correct.....they have fallen so far behind the curve. Agreed! Audi on the other hand is doing a really nice job. I find everything M-B builds really stale though. However, given how bloated the new MINI Cooper looks, they don't even get Retro quite right. -

Back to being serious, walk around of a Sage Green SVO. The R for sure, along with the RS that will become one of the more collectible of the modern Fords! -

We will then cheat by flipping a coin to see if the final car is a sage green SVO or a 7 up edition green Mustang Convertible. Actually I love oddball cars so we will just go with the sage green SVO. Besides, only 47 sage Green SVO Mustangs were ever built. If the 73 does not count, substitute the 7 Up Special edition convertible. 5 odd, really rare green Mustangs...and the perhaps only kind of Green cars our own Ocnblu can approve of! -

Car number 4 will be a Q code 351 4V Mustang convertible from 1973. Here I cheat because it is a special production run rather than a special edition per we. After Ford Built the first last 1973 Mustang Convertible, demand caused them to re start convertible production for a brief production run. This car would be from that brief, final run. 1973 was the last year for Mustang convertibles for about a decade. The 1973 Mustang should be dark green color code 4Q. Black top and interior.
