  1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
  2. Love the Xr4Ti. I have good friends with an immaculate one, family bought it new, still under thirty thousand miles. Not sure it has ever been driven in the rain.
  3. Congrats! Sorry for the problems with the vW, would love to replace my TDI with a GTI, but I have known far too many people to have issues like you are having with VW/Audi products. Glad all is going well for you, sir!
  4. Or a used Civic SI!
  5. Done posting Lemons cars for awhile.....Love all the posts everyone else has made. Keep it coming!
  6. Wow, I learned something, I did not know this! I have seen Comets run at national trails in vintage drag racing, I will know more what to look out for next time I go to the track and they are doing the vintage drag thing. I find the 24 hours of LeMons care sometimes beautiful in their own way. Believe it or not, the "Ranchero" and the 59 Fury "Christine" both started life as 1980's BMW's
  7. One of the best looking automotive designs of the 1960's IMHO. used to be one running around here built as sort of a Mercury version of a Ford Thunderbolt, 427, toploader 4 speed, the works.
  8. The purple Charger just does it for me.
  9. I like the top one the best. Back in high school, lots of 71-74 stuff around, not so much on the earlier stuff. Plus I grew up watching Petty race the 71-73 cars when i was in elementary school, that made a big impression on me. That is a highly under rated generation of Mopar automobiles.
  10. Yes, I did have a chance at an HHR SS Panel. I almost ordered one also. As for the charger thing, when i bought my 66 Mustang fastback, I turned down a solid, B5 blue 69, 318 and an automatic, nothing fancy, but not rusted busted or wrecked 69 Charger for $4500. Kicking myself for that one also.
  11. My son with his 2000 SC 300 with a large turbo and many other mods, out in front of our house. If you look back behind the SC 300, you will see a Twin turbo 300ZX. Jeff, the owner of the 300ZX also owns a Lexus SC 400 that we are going to build up for autocross and track use. Joel, my son is going to re-badge the Lexus as a Toyota Soarer. It has the famed 2JZ from the Supra (similar, but not exactly the same) and he has the parts for a manual conversion in the car. I am on a European car binge, and drive an R53 Cooper S. I wanted to find a decent E36 M3, but they have gone up in price. A lot of them have been wrecked, rusted, and abused also. So I am back to thinking BRZ/WRX for the next ride. Just need VW to get through the process fo buying back the TDI Jetta and we should be good. Although I got 53 MPG driving into work today in the Jetta...I will never do that in a WRX! One that likes taking his friends to sporting events and lives in Michigan.
  12. We have looked at doing that for a number of cars. My adult son and his friends are huge JDM guys. Owning a RHD car is a lot of fun also. My wife's aunt used to be a rural mail carried, and she had a Subaru wagon that was RHD. Going through a drive through with a dog or a small child in the left hand "drivers seat" always made for an interesting double take from the person at the window.
  13. Not sure, the MX5 is pretty tempting as is. And yes on a speed three, although I am thinking maybe WRX for my next car. You only live once!
  14. Being that we both live in the snow belt, AWD would not be bad to have.
  15. Oddly enough, I started looking at the prices for Nissan 240's from the 90's, lot of coin for a crapcan car.
  16. If I can get this in a manual, I may well pull the trigger on the spring to replace the Jetta. Did not know they were going to offer a manual. Around here, almost EVERYTHING is automatic.
  17. I know one guy with a new Z06 who has a Traverse as his other car. Guy is single, house is paid for, works the line at GM, has Gods stockpile of cash. Almost everyone else I know buying this type of car has a very, very healthy income. Which is fine....depreciation is a wonderful thing...i can afford a C5 Z06, soon I will be able to afford a C6 Z06. When the rich guys are done with their turn, the rest of us can have a turn. I have no problem with this. ...and honestly, I don't know of anyone buying a new Miata or Fiesta ST who has a hoopty as their other driver. Guys who drive hoopty's are usually trying to buy a clapped out Nissan 240 from the 1990's...not a new Vette...lol...
  18. Absolutely gorgeous!
  19. It's one reason i don't ride a motorcycle any more. Almost got nailed on my Cannondale by a white Nissan when a lady blew a red light from a blind street....
