  1. With the yari8s, RIo, and Sentra on the list, they should have titled it the ten cars you'd least want your insurance company to repair if they were vandalized or damaged in an accident. Almost like an old Vaudeville, line...."take my Kia...please...."
  2. I wish Oldsmobile were still around to build a sweet little ride like this. It reminds me of the Quad 4 Calais, another small, nimble, good handling car, only it came from GM. Sadly, GM seems to have abandoned the small coupe segment, and after raising 5 kids, I think I'm pretty much done buying 4 door cars. NICE review, thanks for writing it. This may well be my next car, although I like the Focus ST and the GTI as well.
  3. Yes they did!
  4. Yeah, I couldn't imagine using a plain cell phone these days..that would be so 20th century, like using dialup internet. The convenience of a smart phone is great...I don't even take a laptop with me anymore on weekend getaways, can do everything I need to do on the phone. I, on the other hand, use a regular cell phone and don't even like using a GPS....
  5. Me too...but that Olds just takes the cake... Pontiac would be a close second...
  6. He only looks that old...in reality he's just a seventeen year old boy who's into really old cars....
  7. And if I was a chic, I would damn sure take a current gen Beetle over this thing. But seriously...quite a few successful young females I know buy the Focus....no reason to buy the buick over the Ford in this case IMHO.
  8. Buicks design language doesn't translate well here... Although I really like the Verano and Regal...they grow on me all of the time. But given the price of fuel...Passat TDI FTW! You may well be right.... Although at 24K, I'd rather have a base cooper S....
  9. Thanks for sharing this, ocnblu....
  10. For once, I have to agree with SMK. 24K for this is...absurd....
  11. Nice pic... The advent of the lower, longer, wider theme really marks the start of my favorite era of car design. That said, I do appreciate certain 50s designs - usually the cleaner ones. For example, I much prefer a '55 Chevy to a '57. Agreed, and I've owned both a 55 and a 57... 56 just doesn't do that much for me most of the time...
  12. This is the right way to do it. The one I recall was that nice, but a milt custom with American racing wheels and a grey velour interior...
  13. Running to a service call an hour away in the morning, just finished running mine through a ten hour day of service and repair work...
  14. Happy Birthday
  15. The Gen 4 F body's have fantastic brakes...I've autocrossed them...fantastic stopping ability...
  16. I have the same problem....
  17. BR-Z would be the only Toyota product I would want, and it's pretty much a Subaru Glad to have you back!
  18. That ain't the camino we all know and love, bro...
  19. AAA ios great...and a water pump is cheaper than a 450 a month payment on a new one... Although the new GC is one of the few SUV's I'd consider...Fantastic car!
  20. The current GTYI and TDI are built in Wolfsburg, and are the only two vee dubs I'd really consider. Almost, almost, almost bought a GTI when we bought the Cooper S, looked at both new and Used GTI's. One heck of a car...and I am now thinking much more strongly towards the GTI than the Focus ST for my next "practical" car... And I think 'blu is right in his rants...the ability to have a two door is a huge factor in my leaning towards vee dub....
  21. Jesus sweet mother of Mary, you and I need to have a beer, I could not agree more. f@#k this $h!....I have utterly had it. And once again, IO'd honestly rather be Canadian or Australasian or French...I am so tired of watching this country screw itself silly... Agree also.... More common sense that will never happen....
  22. Over the top car indeed.... One thing to consider in the Formula of over powered is how sticky the tires are....
  23. Yes It was only an option on the TA and Z. As for the front they did not have drum front since 1969. GM converted them in 1970. It was an option in 69 Exactly why I questioned what you said in the original post. I knew front disc was made standard on Chevelles back then , so I was sure it had to be the same with Camaro. And, I had never seen any 2nd gen with front drums - even base cars. Neither have I....
  24. Yeah... right now, domestic two doors are something like Challenger, Camaro, Mustang, Corvette, Viper, and that's about it. Probably why I am looking at imported two doors. Riv was a fantastic looking car, I miss having a real Riviera in the Buick lineup.
