  1. So I drop by my buddy's body shop today, and tghey are starting on two interesting projects...a 1968 firebird that is badly in need of a resto, but all original and untouched, a 350 4 speed numbers matching car. I can see that...I'll post pics if I get a chance... Second car is a HARD hit that the owner is sentimental about, and is making a large cash payment in addition to the insurance to repair. Car was hit so hard that it ripped the passenger door completely off the car, buckled the firewall, bent the A pillar, shoved the windshield out of the car, bent the dashboard, buckled the passenger floor boards (although not irrepairably) buckled the trunk floor and inner wheel house, bent the rocker panel, bent BOTH the front and rear suspension...and the guy is fixing it because he's owned the car since new and...it's thirteen years old. It's a plain base grade 1999 Dodge Neon two door with manual crank windows and manual locks... Owner of the shop is having an easier time finding parts for the Firebird than the Neon, even though the Neon is newer. Neon guy is paying cash up front no questions asked to repair the neon. Steve has repaired hard hit vehicles before, and this one will come out right....car is black and owner wants the car STRAIGHT no questions asked when he gets it back... Do you know how it is to find a manual crank door for a 99 Dodge Neon 2 door in a Yard? Actually, in a way it's kind of a cool story that someone is THAT loyal to their car...even if it is hit that badly.

    Cool!
  3. Which is how I stay sane...
  4. How. The. Hell. Do you spend. $100 dollars. At a goddamn McDonalds? Seriously? That concept alone has just shat the biggest log on my entire day. How frigging fat do you have to be? Did they order the whole f@#king menu? I've never spent over $6 bucks at McDonalds and I've never seen anyone spend over $20 feeding a family of three to four people. How do you do that at the America's cheapest third rate fast food joint? It just doesn't add up ... I hate to bring this up but its true...he ordered so much food that they rtan out of chicken to make chicken sandwiches... Guy was at least 600 lbs...we have a neighbor who was 500 plus before bariatric surgury, and this guy was MUCH larger... Good piza is the nectar of life, it contains wheat but I can't live without it.
  5. Really clean truck, I love it...looks good in red, also!
  6. Suzuki has some great design and DNA, I wish they would bring the Swift to the USA!
  7. Affordable to me but too much of a project....
  8. Fact is for anyone in their 20's to 40's, this is our current day Depression. Sorry but we did not crawl out of this in 2009 like the gov said, Since 2007 America and now the world is in a Major Depression due to INSTANT GRATIFICATION DEBT. Until debt gets under control, we will be in static to meager growth. Agreed, and it ain't gonna change easily....
  9. I've cut back on grains and have lost a good bit or weight....
  10. We've bent this one over and failed to discuss it in a serious matter. I expected several board members to volunteer to do reasearch....and take one or two "for the team..."
  11. Twenty years ago, 25-30 percent of young people reported that they had tried anal sex. Today, a recent survey shows that 40-45 percent have tried it. Anal sex is more popular among Americans than ever before, but there are almost no medical studies on its effects. Indiana University sex educator Debby Herbenick has just written a fascinating article for Alternet about one of the very few studies ever conducted on it. The study focused on whether women experience pain during anal sex, and how that affects their behavior. http://io9.com/5950734/why-is-there-so-little-scientific-information-about-anal-sex
  12. Agree with what you have to say so far cubitar, other thoughts...?
  13. If you look closely, you'll see Canada and England follow closely so the real reason must be related to speaking English. Notice also, that Hungary is the only nation loosing weight, in all irony... But what is really to blame...a low level of physical activity, Genetically modified foods or...? Your thoughts please, gentlemen! My kids were behind a fat guy at MacDonalds the other day, who spent over $100 on food for himself, his wife and two children. And my eleven year old daughter Christina and I went to Bob Evans...teenage girl in the booth next to us was HUGE...I'm talking half the size of our MINI...and after she ate a dozen Chocolate chip cookies there for dessert...she ordered a dozen more TO go! We now have somethink like 5 million people who are over 500 lbs....so why are we getting so fat, and what should be done about ti?
  14. [...] But those involved hope their ambitious goal of simulating the tangle of neurons and synapses that power our thought processes could offer solutions to tackling conditions such as depression, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's. The Human Brain venture is the next step in a long-running program that has already succeeded in using computers to create a virtual replica of part of a rat's neocortex -- a section of the brain believed to control higher functions such as conscious thought, movement and reasoning. Scientists at its forerunner, the Switzerland-based Blue Brain Project, have been working since 2005 to feed a computer with vast quantities of data and algorithms produced from studying tiny slivers of rodent gray matter. http://edition.cnn.com/2012/10/12/tech/human-brain-computer/index.html?hpt=hp_c4
  15. I'd like to see these guys get the ball rolling and get business started...
  16. Agree Dfelt, and while I like small cars....this is the worst small car on the planet in mass production, I think....
  17. TDI and GTI are the only two golfs worth owning IMHO, and the TDI's have had issues with intercooler icing on the turbo's and High Pressure fuel pump failure on the Bosh fuel pumps....
  18. It's a very impressive car, and Gm definitely got this one right. Go, GM go...sell this damned thing!
  19. The cube is beginning to warm to me. I like the spacious-ness. What I'm not a big fan is the wind and road noise. I'm not finding it tinny either. Feels solid. Wind and road noise was something that turned me off as well....
  20. Looking forward to the update.... And the skyactive tech is really good....it just needs an updated chassis to be mated to...
  21. Happy Birthday, sir.
  22. GM definitely is getting all of the details right on their latest cars, and may be winning me back as a loyal buyer. Motor sounds/exhaust note is indeed one area the GS outshines the Acura... And BTW, the Verano is selling very well but the ILX is slow....I think people are starting to see what GM is doing....
  23. I like hefty down payments, but I also like residual value....which is why I normally buy used, and buy vehicles that have a high residual. Paid 9K for the Mee-Otter 5 years ago, it's still worth about 6 5 years and 80,000 miles of use later (40,000 miles to 120,000 miles)... Think I've done okay there....afraid a sonic would go from 20K to 12K in value in about 18 months.....
