Went to see this today
A Horse With No Name replied to Camino LS6's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Makes sense... And that nicer Camino you posted, the already fixed up one for 11.5K, gives me hope I can own an older Chevrolet truck some day myself (or GMC). -

I Could never stand looking at it long enough to notice... Why buy something with the fuel economy and limitations of a full size truck, but none of the utility or benefits? They have been an excessively slow seller for Honda. -
Sales: August 2012 - Toyota

TC is not impressive, but hits a price point and not many other coupes on the market.... FRS I love, and they are selling them as fast as they can offload them and build them. Wow...though...up 40 percent...economy is getting better, methinks.- 1 reply

VW News: Introducing The 7th Generation Golf
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
I get a very different Vibe fromk VW, but I know a bunch of old air cooled VW guys, a bunch of TDI guys, and a bunch of guys who race and autocross cars like the GTI and GLI. The "granola" VW crowd isn't on my radar. But yeah, other than a MINI Coupe as a performance car, or a Miata as a Convertible, to me the Golf GTI and TDI are the ultimate small cars. I would actually rather drive a GTI than a C class benz or a 5 Class BMW....or a Lincoln, or a Lexus for that matter.- 3 replies

Sales: August 2012 - Chrysler

"Fiat 500 Abarth, the ultimate small performance car..." Don't know if I would go that far, but it is a neat little product in its own way.. Glad to see the 300 doing well.- 1 reply

I would take the Jeep Wrangler, no questions asked. As Camino said, they can be a miserable vehicle in terms of ride quality and build quality, but they are a hoot in the summer with the top off. I still want one...

LS7, could not agree more with you! Love the Regal and Verano...but damn, the Golf is a nice car. -

Behind the Civic plow truck is a rather saveable looking old Chevy van and apparently a Silver Fiero...a silver lining in every cloud. Seriously, go for the Camino. Nothing else your looking at scratches an itch that isn't already being scratched, if you know what I mean. Don't let it be like high school, where you avoid the girl you like and who likes you...only to find out she's dating some other guy. -

So finish the mother truck, get the 64, and crap can your other long term projects. Cars will run on electric, hydrogen, and Red bull by the time that Jag goes on the road again.... -
Sales: August 2012: Honda
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in 2012 Sales Archive
Wow, Honda is on fire.... Probably a reason the economy here in Central Ohio where so many are built is getting better. Still, I do not like the new Civic...- 1 reply

Why are you avoiding the 64? Much higher value, IMHO done than your other projects...and would be far cooler. You ought to go buy THAT and save it from getting a big block and wheel tubs, or being turned into a race car, or sitting in someone else s barn for the next twenty years. -
Industry News: What Brands Are Saab Owners Turning To?
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Agree with blu on the subie thing...although Saabs always had nice interiors, subies not so much. -
TDI VW can barely hit 58 highway, as can a Prius under just the right conditions... I am pretty much call BS on this one. Dart is a really nice looking car, though.

Industry News: What Brands Are Saab Owners Turning To?
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
VW has a lot of the funkiness of SAAB without a lot of the blandness or headaches of the last several generations of SAAB products. I would rather have a CC than any of the later SAAB stuff..... One thing is for sure...SAAB ain't comin' back....which is sad, really. Before GM took them over, the 900 Turbo was a great car. Heck, I still lust after those, and they have been out of production for a long time. Had some of the uniquye SAAB DNA been able to be kept alive....I may well have one in the driveway now. And as much as I would cross the Pacific in a leaky rowboat with one oar to give CSPEC a hard time....Dammit man...I miss SAAB! -

Oddly enough, my wife didn't want to test drive as she didn't like the styling....

Trying hard NOT to consider this one
A Horse With No Name replied to Camino LS6's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Sounds like your a gonner, sir... And I like this car a whole lot better than the Vette project, which I loved. Good luck in getting it, and getting it home! ...although it sounds like you'll be eating ramen noodles and selling plasma to get both the 64 and the Mothertruck finished and painted... -

Good luck, I think it's unique enough and uncommon enough as a 64 that it's worth a try. I like all of the color ideas so far, agreed on bringing out the body lines. -
Happy Birthday, Z06!

Pathetic 4 banger doesn't do to bad on acceleration, but the car has no appeal to me whatsoever. -

Agreed, and it's gonna need cash dumped in. but hell, even I'm tempted by this thing and I live eight hours away. Me either.... -
I'll have to check the higher trim levels out, as I really like the exterior of the car, and the seats are rather comfortable. Good luck to Dodge selling this, as it is actually other than interior a promising product, I think. I'll check one out with leather, then.

...and yen rate is going to kill a lot of Aian cars from coming here. And not to get political, but either party is pretty much going to continue printing money like a drunken sailor if elected, so the yen thing will stay the same.
