  1. Dude...you need to meet some of the people in the "ricer" part of the import community. You would swear that someone wrote instructions in either crayon or lipstick on their naked parents so they would remember how to conceive a child and bring it into this world.
  2. Depends on what you want the car to do, for some forms of rallying and for rallycross, it is a fantastic car. To each his own...I just thought the billboard was funny.
  3. I love this era of trucks properly fixed up though...GM built some GREAT trucks in that era!
  4. Wicked cool, and lots more courage than I will ever have....
  5. I agree with you... except if you're parking in NYC (or another VERY tight metro), the dumb Smart seats a big guy better than a Cruze or Malibu and parks anywhere at a fraction of the hassle... and suddenly makes sense. I can understand it in that situation, and even though I like small cars, the A segment cars like Scion IQ, Smart, Fiat 500 are too small in my book.
  6. Welcome to the site, I just passed on a similar BMW that was much nicer, but much more expensive. Good luck getting her back on the road, and if your ever near Ohio I know of a couple of possible parts cars for the BMW...if the guy didn't crush the parts cars yet. Love the Iroc, BTW... Enjoy the site!
  7. I can appreciate the "without the salesman" thingie. A few years ago, a salesman told one of my racing buddies to drive a car as hard as he wanted during a test drive, and I was along in the back seat.. After a few near 100 mph runs up and down on ramps, and a bonsai run down a curvy road, my friend bought the car. Salesman was white with fear, and didn't quite stop shaking until the temprary tags were on the car and we were driving away....
  8. Again, keep us posted!
  9. good luck with that thought....
  10. Although the Ford OHC motors have proven to be really good V8's....
  11. Pople in America by and large have forgotten how to think for themselves...
  12. Wickedly sweet and cool...IIRC a similar truck used to run around my old home town of Muncie, Indiana...
  13. Having a good friend who has an SRT-8 300...I can agree!
  14. I think Olds has it... A car is seen more and more as a generic appliance, and for those people, internet reviews are probably adequate.
  15. Agree, a 500 Electric might be a neat little city car.
  16. Happy Birthday, dude!
  17. I don't know, but it's a very small percentage. Fantastic motor by the way.
  18. But before they do that, they need to ask a simple question. Why is a 3.6 Bi-turbo V6 better than a 6.2 Gen V DI V8? Because a Nissan GT-R lays waste to anything GM has ever made? Because of the active torque biasing AWD system and everything else? Or, because of the Bi-turbo 3.8 liter V6? Just based on the numbers won't a GT-R be faster and better handling if it used the LS7 Pushrod V8 instead of the VR38DETT V6? The LS7 was 505hp / 470 lb-ft vs 480 hp / 434 lb-ft (when introduced). The LS7 was also 32 kg lighter, does need intercoolers, doesn't need a myraid of intake plumbing and has zero turbo lag. Similar power output, better weight distribution, less throttle lag, less spagetti under the hood and, yes, less money. How is that a bad thing? It's not.... We are really getting off topic here but.... Look at armature racing, it would back up Dwight one hundred percent. Go to an SCCA event and you will see a ton of cars with LS power, including plenty of Z06's, both C5 and C6. You very rarely see GTR's driven in competition by anything other than professional teams. One big reason is that the Vette (like most current GM products) is really, really tough. Look at how many old C4's you see still being raced, even though they are way out of date. The old ZF tranny if I recall was a German dump truck transmission adapted to the Corvette, and they hold up forever.
  19. ZR1 was around two or three seconds faster in the C and D lightening lap, and C and D pretty much admitted that the ZR1 had more speed in it but the lacked the proper male reproductive equipment to find it.... And since I know some of our readers, I mean they couldn't get the additional speed out of the car, not that they couldn't find the car.
