  1. And alas...car is recovered and safe with only minor damage. News report of the high speed chase the truck and trailer W car were involved in... thief is in custody... The pursuit then went into Antioch, back to Pittsburg and onto state Highway 4 where the suspect drove in the wrong direction at speeds of up to 90 mph. The chase finally ended in the unincorporated area of Alamo, south of Walnut Creek, when the suspect stopped the truck, got out and put his hands up. CHP officers had taken over the case at that point, and took the suspect into cu
  2. ...although you could hide it in your garage/barn and no one would ever find it... (friendly little dig...)
  3. He is brave...and inspiring me to keep working on my stuff.
  4. There used to be a Nomad about 35 Miles south of me that had been a good start on an El-Camino conversion...guy was trying to turn it back into a Nomad. Not sure whatever happened to that car.
  5. Having just grenaded the motor in my sons car racing....with an older motor... sometimes the scrap dealer is your friend. We shall see!
  6. I like your response, REg...yeah..eventually GM and Ford will run out of aging baby boomers to sell these things to.
  7. I've seen a55 Nomad made into an El camino and done welll.. in 1955 GM seriously built El-Camino prototypes but decided to hold off for a bit...
  8. I hate Pep boys, I'll drive 40 miles out of my way to avoid using them if I have to. I'm about to attempt to take my eleven year old to our community pool. Lots of twntysomething young mothers there in Bikini's, which tend towards the small side.... Enjoy the Jeep!
  9. Glad she's still doing well for you, sir.
  10. I also noticed more NVH on the 2012 model, both in the form of engine vibration at lower RPM (the 3.5L and 3.9L run smoother at idle), and the rather intrusive and annoying whistling noise when you dig into the throttle to get going, merge or pass, which I believe has something to do with the direct injection system. I've noticed the same thing on a 2012
  11. I agree with this... ...and I agree with this also...but the market seems to be full of people who want a truck the size of a 1950's starter house.
  12. Corrected... Which state isn't idiotic...Maine perhaps?
  13. Not many '61 Corvettes left running around, and some dingus drops it off a carrier truck?! HEADS WILL ROLL FOR THIS!!! Yes they will...at first I thought it was a 62, but it has contrasting coves. Narrow white walls were first offered in 62 IIRC...so this car should have/should have had widw whites IIRC.
  14. Why you don't race Mustangs on the street either...
  15. Firebird destroyed in a street race with a Boxster
  16. Twisted F body....
  17. A smart car caught between two trucks.... Pontiac going a little too fast on the autobahn...driver lived....
  18. I myself also have stupid close calls all of the time...people are idiotic when it comes to cars. Glad your okay, Blu!
  19. think people 9inside Honda are more worried than you might think.
  20. So the Former Stang Drives the newest stang.... Overalll.... Pluses. The fit and finish of the car I drove was fantastic....as good as anything I've seen sold today. The trunk had flawless finish inside of the trunk lid, the door jambs were flawless, the paint inside the motor bay was flawless. Interior fit together perfectly also. It also had plenty of power. However, the car felt really heavy and not terribly playful, the shifter wasn't as clean of good as a GTI, Volvo C30, or any of the other cars we drove and liked better. Seats were comfortable enough but lacked the support of the GTI seats or the better seats of several other cars I've driven. Overall, an 8 out of ten....nice car, but not enough to sway me from the likes of a GTI or C30 if I were to buy another car. And yes, we drove this before we bought the MINI...I just haven't gotten around to posting this.
  21. Exactly...and the Impala isn't exactly going to see a lot of track day use any time soon....
  22. Good effort but I really don't like the dashboard, or how the A pillars get in the way. Overall....I'd give it a 7 or 8 rather than a 9. Still a better car than a lot of the competition, however.
  23. Yeah...yikes! Agreed...
