  1. He's saying there is a racist element in Arizona and Arizona law. You could say the same thing about Ohio. Was washing my truck at a car wash...guy comes up and explains that there is a detail shop down the street, that my hands are white, and that they shouldn't be doing "nigger work." Nigger work is for nigger hands....your hands aren't black....give that work to a nigger..." All I wanted was a clean truck...hmmm. Ohio is an astonishingly racist place sometimes.
  2. Just strange enough a guy like me might want to own one...
  3. This makes real economic sense, the targetmaster motors were something like $1300 or so when I bought one from jegs once....and they come with a warranty...if the suspension was tight...a good set of used tires, a tranny fluid flush and adjustment, and some basic assembly and she could be on the road very easily in the spring.... Or by christmas if I was there to help you thrash on it....!
  4. Another Pontiac I have a bizzare fetish for (as long as we are talking relatively uncommon, low production Pntiacs...) is the 1968 Pontiac GTO with the special "low performance" 400 2v motor....think it was sold as an "Economy"...gto or such. I've seen a couple cars, almost bought one once but the car I was looking at had structural damage.
  5. Since it's matching numbers, and since a new block would be expensive...why not tear it down, re-ring and re-gasket the motor, and then put it back together? You could do a visual inspection, and you'll need to do that anyways. You can always balance and machine everything later. how much is a small block Chevy gasket set, a set of rings, and a set of bearings for a 350 anyways?
  6. I wish I could photograph things that well...!!!
  7. One more by the same photographer.... http://sugarock99.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d218hjx
  8. Keep them PG or G rated, please.... http://sugarock99.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d2fczxl
  9. Actually, this is another case where higher tech could save a whole bunch. In Japan, some of the new R410 A/C systems (residential) are like 30 SEER efficiency, or something stupid...I forget how much...but I've heard/read accounts of very efficient systems. A really efficient system now in the US is like 14 seer or so.... Using energy much more wisely could cut demand and costs dramatically....and stimulate the economy. the advantage of wind is that you never need to fuel it once it's built....so once the cost is Amortized....
  10. Excellent!...I'm glad at least somebody is getting the message....
  11. I think just make it a basic driver... A real primo grade resto would cost a fortune on this car.....
  12. Enjoy your down time....
  13. In reality, this is an interesting situation... A lot of these old Coal fired plants, from what I understand, got grandfathered in under the clean air act and don't have scrubbers and such. Many of these plants are going to become obsolete, or need major major work done at some point... Lots of these plants were built in the 1940's and 1950's.... It will be interesting to see what happens...I think the actual generation cost is something like two cents a kilowatt hour if it's a coal fired plant and paid for. Carbon taxes may never come into play if our politics don't change.... ...and of course, if the price of gas goes to five and a half bucks a gallon, that also will change the dynamic.

  15. With me it is a life style thing...I want to be like knightfan, and travel places....and I want to autocross... I'm trying to live very simply to achieve other goals. But I admire your collections, guys.
  16. I've seen some really odd things lately. Bunches, actually...to many to post here...like the guy driving a bright Yellow VW thing, windows down, singing at the top of his lungs... Saw a Silver Audi TT while driving to a service call at work today....lic plate, Ohio vanity plate...BOW TE GY...or bow tie guy...which one would assume to be chevy. Was going to Ace Iron and Scrap, to sell off some copper and scrap from my electrical and HVAC pursuits...was being followed by a Brinks truck. At the scrap yard...two armed guards pop out...and start selling copper scrap. I mean, the price of scrap copper is high...but come on now boys...
  17. Agreed, I think GM has this one right. I'd put one in the driveway tonight if I could afford it.
  18. Very, very, very simple answer for you son...don't buy one. I also am in lust over a diesel full size one ton truck....you and I can share some automotive GM lust on that one. But blu...I hate to break this to you...we (you and I) are NOT going to do a hokey GM commercial for one if I buy one.
  19. Amen brother. I still want a Volt so damn bad...it gets the same kind of car lust going in me as a sixties muscle car...maybe it's the technology involved, or the feel of being on a cutting edge. Really glad to see this car...finally...here.
  20. Congrats, dude! Oh, and I have a son who loves Ibanez guitars.... Actually of the seven people in my family five play guitar...so I may be seeing you! I just flat out need to drive to New Jersey with my son Joel, who is seventeen and into guitars. You and I can talk cars, and our sons can talk guitars. We'll hire B-knight so we can have someone to translate between generations....
  21. And of these, only the fiesta IMHO is even close...no offense to the Cruze...
