  1. Here is a thought...look at pics and read articles about cars built about say 1905. then jump ahead 30 years to 1935. Order of magnitude of change, yes? Do the same, 35 to 65, 65 to 95... 95 beginning of OBD 2 and the modern era as it were... Give it another 30 years. Cars will be VERY different! Chris
  2. I'd rather blow it here than elsewhere. I have no trouble at all with this...think its a damned fine idea in fact. Chris
  3. So is Korea stealing Japans thunder in terms of cars? Woman who works in the insurance agency down the street from us at work bought a new Genesis Coupe and had it parked out front when I went by on my way home. It is, IMHO, a much nicer car than anything Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, or Nissan are building. Shoot me if you will...but I would gladly take the keys to this over a 370 Z. Got a good look at it...much better fit and finish than what I'm seeing from HONDA or Toyota...and not a terrible looking car, although it's no Camaro or GTI or C30 Volvo or anything... But it is IMHO a MUCH better effort than say the Accord Coupe or the Camry. So what is it boys (and girls)...is Korea moving ahead of the Japanese or not? Interested in your opinions. Chris
  4. Actually I'm much more into sports cars, and much more into GM's sedans, Camaro, Cobalt SS, etc. But market segment by market segment, the crossovers are IMHO GM's best product in comparison to the competition. IMHO no one else even comes remotely close. I even have thoughts about vintage Jaguars when I look at the Enclave...GM just nailed that one. That Arcadia Denali is just utterly killer, imho. GM really did a top notch top drawer effort with this, and it shows. If the baby Buick comes out nearly this good...hmmm... Chris
  5. The only time he enjoys being in a make believe world is when it is in cyberspace! Getting ready to reply to the "golf" question, loki. BTW, loki...where do you live, and what cars do you like? I seldom see you post outside of the political section, and would like to talk cars as well as debate gov't policy. Chris
  6. Better get a witch doctor to conjur the Tundra back up from posdered dust...er..I mean rust...
  7. ...and if anything the media is just now starting to get honest. The Scion TC is off of the Consumers Reports reccomended list because of poor side impact crash test results...and Consumers Reports also said that the Malibu and Fusion were BOTH more reliable than the Accord or the Camry. I like the GM ad for the Malibu that says..."An Accord is by definition a compromise..." Brilliant! Of course, it's helping that Honda and Toyota are building their ugliest vehicles ever...Corolla anyone....Crosstour...Any Acura Built...oatmeal bland Lexus? Chris Chris
  8. It sucks to be behind the curve... Sucks to be him! Chris
  9. ...and I like the idea of regs of stucco...and also of posting a pic... chris
  10. 'blu...sounds like a good plan. Give my 8 year old house about ten more years and I intend to kind of redo everything so it's 100 percent for retirement. I'd really eventually like a metal roof if I ever build a house...I love the sound of rain on them on a summer night. But 100% on the architectural shingle thing...put them on my second house. They looked fantastic! Chris
  11. Sweet! I need a winter beater/backup car myself!! Chris
  12. I don't think theres anything wrong with it... Chris
  13. There is still real reason to take pride in being American! Chris ...and glad to see this thing in the air. Brother of a guy from my wife's church was part of the development team...he was under some undgodly stress to get this thing flying....
  14. Congrats again...glad it's a 4 sped! Chris
  15. Vandalism...I've replaced stuff that has been damaged due to theft or vandalism on the ground. Other than that...yeah...pretty much the roof. And croc, love the pics of the cement and wood siding. Stuck with vynal here, as our neighborhood as an "association" and our home is only 8 years old. But if I ever build, it's Hardieplank or real wood. ...and balthazar...about your bro's house...lots of older homes here in Columbus were built with good quality redwood siding in the 20's through the 40's...stuff is holding up great. Chris
  16. Camino...you know well my passion for orange cars... Hmmmm... Chris
  17. ...the shadow knows... Seriously, I wonder if some company added them aftermarket for light inside or something? Chris
  18. My cats get outside and kill a bird every now and then... Kind of nice to know that they want to do something nice for you, even if it is a dead bird on a doorstep. Chris
  19. Fiber Cement Hardie siding is good stuff...my sister used it when she remodeled and the stuff works great. Chris
  20. Local dealer had three (yes three) of the Targa/Coupes in stock at the same time. Now THAT is an amazing car! Chris
  21. I really don't want to ask, do I? Chris
  22. A bad day car shopping is still better than a good day working (Sometimes...I like what I do!) Bring in the next contender! Chris
  23. Exactly Married men should and can do better. For example...You get elected and solicit another guy for sex in a restroom somewhere... Just kidding, yes I know I'm evil. Chris
  24. Read what Camino said about Ohio's rolling junkyards. Hell, down in Chillicothe down where I work there are plenty of GM cars from the 70's and early 1980's that are still running around. And we see GM trucks from even the 1960's still in daily use... Down near my parents there is a 1956 Chevrolet 1/2 ton truck still in semi regular use... smk is right, GM builds some crappy vehicles.
  25. OUCH! And I had such high hopes that you and Knight had found what you had been looking for. Chris
