  1. Sweet car...glad someone else here loves British stuff. Chris
  2. I would agree on VW, Buick, and Suburu. Chris
  3. Nice old Blazer! Chris
  4. Glad to see both the Camaro and MINI so high on the list. And yes, Toyota's current lineup is ugly. Chris
  5. Epic Fail! Chris
  6. Too bad you couldn't have sold it with a "rat"... chris
  7. Yep. Sell that Tahoe now, guys and gals. It is going to get ugly. Real ugly. Seems I am one of the few people here actually looking forward to the Volt. Chris
  8. Pretty much cars from every era. I am like you, in that I like a lot of everything. We both LOVE the 1960's Pontiacs. I also am tired of a lot of the stuff that I grew up with. Interesting that we both chose such different ways to enjoy the automotive thing...me moving into a few more modern small sporty cars and you building a magnum opus with a B-59. We couldn't be any more different. Starting to really like the 1950's mopar stuff. The 1950's cars I love are actually the 1950-1954 Chevrolet two door post coupes. Don't ask me why...I just do. Think because I've owned a 55 Chevy and a 1957 Chevy, and would want something different if I got another 1950's car. Chris
  9. That actually would be a very decent solid project car I think. The perfect start of that ten year project I was talking about. Chris
  10. It would be nice if things were like they were in 1940 and we had several different news sources to go to. Back then, lots of different newspapers. Now everything seems to be owned by a few people...hmmm. Consumers reports is more or less worthless. Chris
  11. Sounds cool, keep us posted! Chris
  12. The Euro Focus really does it for me. Really thinking that I want three cars, 1 Asian (we ALL know what THAT will be) 1 American (Sport version of the Focus or Cobalt, methinks) and one European (MINI Cooper S or VW TDI/GTI). I am really starting to get excited about the idea of an SVT version of the new Focus. Or they could do the Focus RS and I'd be really happy. Cobalt SS really does it for me as well. 300 HP with the reflash....hmmm...methinks the local Toyota boys will be going home with their pee-pee between their legs when I show up with one at a local Autocross. But all of this begs the question...and I haven't made myself clear. I JUST want GM to build a small car that's as good as the Ford Fiesta and Honda FIT. They can do it...just went out with my son to go to the drug store and the music store. We passed the local Cadillac dealer on the way back. New CTS wagons out front. How can a company that builds a world class sexy gotta have it OMG car like the CTS wagon NOT build a world class small car? Chris
  13. Given how hot the new Taurus looks...I think we've got a few good suprises coming from Ford. Chris
  14. Actually I think the Volt is going to do really really well for GM. And as for thinking that all of us here just hate Detroit...we don't. Actually I see signs of it coming back. I'm down in North Carolina visiting my folks, who have bought asian cars since the late 80's. My mother couldn't wait to run me over to the local Ford dealer to see the new Taurus, which is a great looking car. Actually, the Mustang may be Ford's least attractive product when they new Focus gets here....who would have ever thought? ...and the Malibu grows on me every time I look at it. Chris
  15. It's the SMK like guys that make me laugh. Chris
  16. Fiesta will be a great little car when it gets over here. Aveo crash test is scary, as my mother owns one.
  17. Hell yes! My wife has relatives in a Jeep group (www.jeepskool.com). They take old Cherokees out and blow them up with all kinds of stuff...they belong to a group that owns land on northern Ohio...like several hundred or even athousand Acres IIRC. Good wheeling territory. I have wet dreams at night about blowing up a Compass. As one of my son's rock and roll songs goes, "burn mother..... mother.... burn" Compass is a terrible product IMHO. Chris
  18. I am still hoping for Suzki to die. They can take Mitsubishi with them...although Mitsu has too much of a foothold here to die. My thoughts...I still see Scion dieing, as they have really unimaginative product right now that is not going to win over the younger or older generation. The new xB is already loosing out to the Cube and the Soul...the TC is way behind the Civic Coupe/Civic Si. The just looks like the one toad in the forrest that no princess will ever kiss to make into a prince. Sales are way off. We'll see. Chris
  19. Hence my bitterly sarcastic post above about the Duke boys. We've been round this tree before...aveo....(cough...cough...)
  20. Defender FTW! Actually they look cool, but...not so good of a vehicle. Chris
  21. Personally, I would love to crush most of the entire current lineup of both Jeep and Toyota to watch them die a slow, painfull death before being dropped in the shreder and sent off to the smelter. Now the prev. gen Jeep Wrangler Rubicon...thumbs up. The current oversized pig...no thanks. Toyota just needs to get a dose of reality. Chris
  22. Still, most people would rather drive a car like the Volt, Cruze, TDI VW, Prius, Fusion Hybrid, et al. Still think GM needs a first class entry in this segment, still not sure this car is going to do it. Chris
  23. It's a nice idea, but probably impractical as a city car. MINI, perhaps? Hate to say it but...first gen Scion xB? Wife drives one, uses it as a city car, it parallel parks well and has good interior room. Focus should still be a good city car. I would think. How is it too long? Chris
  24. Not so much liberal as mindless. But I do see people starting to turn away from Toyota. Chris
  25. Lets all hold hands and say it together kids, so we won't forget it. Peak oil is here...life will change at $6.00 a gallon.... Chris
