I think fathom was a little bit lighter. Still think you should build a clone of the GMC Sprint big block 71 version of this truck. A GM crate 454 would be plenty, and you could prob. pick up a pretty solid 71 builder for 5 grand or so with the economy the way that it is. Always wanted an El-Camino of this generation...wish I'd gotten one earlier in life and held onto it. Chris Chris

Lord God Almighty...I like that one also. The blue doesn't look like an original GM color, but is perfect for that car. White stripes do it well also...and I love the powertrain choice. So do tell Camino, are you trying to tell us your moving to Sweeden rather than Austrailia? I would rather have the 70 than a Ute, although they are both cool. Chris

Never been a fan of roller coasters. But lately I have been noticing more and more breasts, which is a change as I am usually a huge fan of ASS as far as the fair sex is concerned. To Camino, good things come to those who wait. To the rest of us, good things come in pairs. Chris

I am right there with you on this one. And the tan interior even makes it nicer. Odd that it doesn't have the Cowl Hood with the Flapper. Chris

This isn't a game of gotcha...but balthazar once said that he didn't think any Post War GM car had gone extinct. Especially not one that was unique and significant. I am offering this tounge in cheek...but we may have him here. This may also have been posted here before, I can't remember. 1982. Chevette Scooter diesel automatic. Only year you could get an automatic with a diesel in the Chevette Scooter. Significance is...I know they built this car, as I have a friend that has seen one. Only year the scooter came with a diesel and an automatic. Only postwar diesel automatic two seater regular production passenger car built by GM. (Scooter came without a back seat.) Slowest GM postwar car. Least desireable GM postwar car. Least powerful GM postwar car, I think. Least attractive GM postwar car. Lowest resale value of any GM postwar car. Probably none left! (thankfully) Anyone ever seen one or know anything about this car? Chris

Around here the cars are going the pick and pull near my house. Our pick and pull is really good, the TD VW guys come down from Michigan to get parts. The CFC cars are getting picked pretty clean. Fullsize Dodge 4wd and a GMC 2WD truck picked CLEAN to where only the cab and frame remained, along with a dead motor. Fullsize Burban got stripped oit's full interior, axles, transfer case, and doghouse in a couple of hours. Chris

Damn, boys, I've been watching the car lots around here. Nice Maroon Cadillac STS with the Northstar...dead behind the local Hyundai dealer. Amazingly nice Durango also, red, daman near perfect, low miles. At the local Honda dealer, talked to a salesman that was livid that he had to take these cars in trade. He pointed to a 60,000 mile Grand Marquis that his aunt had traded in. He was a mustang guy and we were lamenting the 97 clean white GT 5 speed in the lineup. I looked around for awhile, and a guy drove in with a Grand National, (NOT to trade) he was looking for a Civic for his daughter for a college car. After I got done talking to that guy, mr Sales man is pulling the plates of a really nice low mile Chryusler town and country, silver with leather. Amazing that a vehicle that must have sold for 35 K new was sitting in the lineup. Oh, and that Maroon Caddy....they didn't even put the windows up when they killed it, so it's getting rained in. Brainless ideas I have that you can hate: C and G drives of GM cars on a regular basis, letting us have a really good review of the good, bad, and ugly of the current GM lineup. A pic section that had pics of both GM heritage and GM current vehicles. A section devoted to non automotive GM stuff like EMD, etc. C and G get togethers (sorry I missed you guys in Michigan!) to help us all pull together. Wrenching get togethers (VW TDI club does this, works great). Pic a few projects, fire up the BBQ, or make chilli, and have a wrenching party. Local get togethers for GM fans. I am one of the few people I know in Columbus, Ohio that likes anything GM built past 1972, and I am NOT kidding. The VW TDI club has a get together every third Friday at a local pizza joint. We could do the same thing...get a Pittsburg group, a Columbus Group, a Detroit group, a Philly group, a New Jersey group, etc. Even if it was only quarterly or bimonthly I think it would be great. More actual real technical articles, not just which windshield washer fluid or wax should I use. Historical articles about GM heritage vehicles with lots of pics. I had almost lost the B-59 off of my radar when I came here...how many cool vehicles has GM built? Glad I'm volunteering you guys for all this work...seriously...if I can do anything, let me know. For me, it's the Sentra I've got as a rental while the Miata is in the body shop. Amazingly horrible suspension and handling, cheap, thin paint, not very impressive build quality, ugly as home made sin. It is the one car on the planet not even Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear has enough sarcasm to diss. Chris

His wife's comments are exactly why I autocross. Keep it safe, keep it real, keep it off the streets. Something like tail of the dragon is good driving at 6 or 7 tenths, when you can feel the car work and enjoy the scenery. Not so much fun to race on a public road. Chris
