  2. A friend of mine uses a seat from an old EMD F7 (GM built locomotive) as a desk chair. It is amazingly comfortable. Chris
  3. As a Miata owner, all I can say is...wow. Here is my idea of a perfect three car garage...my Miata...your S2000...and a Factory Five Cobra replica. Just tell me that in the perect fantasy world where they actually build your rendering that I can get it in some other blue color than that lame light metallic blue that Honda painted the S2k. Honda really, really should build this (lust) Chris
  4. I am having trouble letting things go as well. I really wanted to buy a new Solstice for my next new car, but that ain't gonna happen. I can't really think of what to say right now. A big part of me has been moving on emotionally from GM for a long time, even through I've been a long term owner of a dozen or so GM cars. To me, GM is bipolar. When they are good and get it right, it's great. Sometimes mind blowingly great. When they get it wrong OTOH... ...and moving on to motorcycles or knitting or baseball or something isn't an option for me I am a car guy. I know in one sense what you feel as I am feeling it also. Maybe you need to go borrow a 4th gen Firebird and beat the crap out of it on a winding Pennsylvania back road? Chris
  5. I wish Chrysler and Fiat luck! Chris
  6. WTF? Chris
  7. It would have helped. GM slowly starteed loosing their focus in with the 1973 model year lineup. It's been 36 years of decline ever since, when you think about it. Halting the decline in a big way at any one point or in a myriad of small ways all along would have saved them. Alas, for some reason it wasn't worth turning the ship around for whatever odd reason. Had they ever at any one point decided to just be GM and not tried to be everything to everybody..we'd be okay. Or, had they decided that they were a car company run by people passionate about cars...we'd be okay. Chris
  8. That SC Riviera from that era is just the cat's ass as far as a car goes. Again, a very under rated GM car. They got that one right for its market and era. Chris
  9. Laugh if you will Pontiac-niche, focussed cars... Olds-spend lots of $ and make it a flagship. Work on legacy costs. As someone else said, keep RWD fullsize around. Chris
  10. I could see 66 GTO, the tail end view on that car is awesome, IMHO. Chris
  11. I agree with 68. The $h!storm has been coming for 30 or 40 years, we've just had our heads in the sand. I am not saying that the sky is falling... But the $h! storm is going to get worse. We've created this situation as Americans. But GM as a whole has got to survive, and I think that is far from certain right now. I'm optomistic, but there is still a chance the whole ship could sink. Chris
  12. Ouch! Sorry to see that happen to such a nice looking truck. Chris
  13. Camaro seems to have protected the cabin rather well in an accident. Chris
  14. God, I needed that laugh! Chris
  15. Camino, you KNOW how I feel about the SD cars. Bidding right now is at a very reasonable 30K. Wish I could afford this right now. Chris
  16. I want the new Camaro also. Good to see you, keep up with the girls. My youngest, Christina, is 8 and my middle daughter just turned 13. It goes by real damned quick. My oldest will turn 19 July 3. In the end family is all we have. Chris
  17. If I'm going to save a 71 Buick it is soing to be a Skylark convertible. Chris
  18. Absolute utter lust (which will probably bring us back to nudity) Chris
  19. I just wonder if this is the next step in the loss of some of our automotive freedoms. A lot of things start out "voluntary" +I wonder if they will include Tacomas in the definition of crushworth clunker? Chris
  20. Yes, but cars like your Camino and wagon will be the very cars under 'target" Chris
  21. James Carter, former president
  22. ...and if we can see some new iron turn it will help the economy bigtime. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Chris
  23. I think it will be less serious classics than the stuff that the young and the working class will want to build. There are a whole lot of cars that just need to get gone though... Chris
  24. General Lee
