  1. Exactly. Fuel economy seems to be selling well for obvious reasons, and 200 horse is plenty for 95% of cars on the planet... Chris
  2. Actually I think the girl and the F body are just fine.... Actually the 4th gen F-body has really grown on me as of late... Chris
  3. Depends on the dealer. Some local dealers have been sold out for months, but the Librarian at the Library I use drives one he just bought. He says that they had 12 on the lot, including a couple of 07's. Chris
  4. ...and here I always thought Canadians were smarter than Americans... Chris
  5. I don't think that GM should give up building larger vehicles, they just need to build fewer of them. The Chevy dealer in Logan, Ohio sells lots of Chevy trucks to people from Columbus. Why? Because they are in farm country and Farmers, contractors, people with large animals, etc, need trucks. We just need to get in the buisiness of building great small cars. Chris
  6. I just love this thread, keep it coming. There was a set of pics on a nudie car site of a pink 59 Invicta (I think it was nudeautomall or something) with a couple of topless chics. Then there was the pink 59 Caddy with a nekkid chick in playboy a few months back. ...and then there was a pink 59 Chevy ragtop on the wall of my local bodyshop in an old girly calender. I guess this makes a Trifecta of sorts...now I just need a photo of a pink 59 Olds and a pink 59 Pontiac with chicks and I'd be all set! Chris
  7. Around here there is a waiting list from hell for a Fit. I asked my local Honda dealer about a manual Fit sport, and was told I could get one...in late August. Honda IMHO has MUCH better engeneering than Toyota, and I would own a Honda or Mazda before I would own almost any other Asian or Euro car. Chris
  8. The sprinter really is a nice product... Chris
  9. Agreed, good to see the bu and the CTS doing so well... Chris
  10. Oh, and...HOLY $h!, Lexus is taking this economic downturn hard... Chris
  11. TC is a dated design and not a well designed car. I own and drive a first gen xB, and we looked at a TC for the wife. TC is NOT an impressive car by any standard, IMHO. Yaris is doing well but other small subcompacts are much better cars. Chris
  12. Hell yes it's permanant. Get used to the idea of $6.00 a gallon gas. One of the mother's of one of the boys in my sons cub scout troup tried to trade in her late model F-150 on a Fusion. The Ford dealer wouldn't take the F150 at any price. I have a friend that sells Honda's. A customer came in with a Tahoe, the Honda dealer told them that they'd give him $10,000 towards a Civic. That was when gas was $3.29 When it went to $4.00 per gallon, he wanted to trade the Tahoe. The Honda dealer reduced their offer to $6,000 for the Same vehicle. Demand for Trucks just isn't coming back. Chris
  13. Don't worry, when the new Camaro comes out you will be assimilated to the "dark side" just fine... Seriously, it is a hot car and even though I am not a big fan of Chrysler I find myself wanting one a little bit... Chris
  14. ...but what we need now is a dinstinctly American MODERN car, not the rebirth of a 40 year old Idea. I'm not saying it isn't cool... but... Chris
  15. Exactly...in 1970 I would much rather have bought a sweet Mach 1 or Boss 302 or a nice z-28 rather than a Challenger. Thirty eight years later, I'd still rather have the Mustang or Camaro. Chris
  16. Yes, revive Olds! I wish it were that simple... Chris
  17. Congrats on the new ride, BV. Chris
  18. I agree with Oldsmoboi, I just love Amtrak. I would gladly pay a two dollar a gallon tax on gas just to have a decent rail system...seriously... Chris
  19. The best yard around here is just west of Mount Sterling, Ohio on route 56 headed west, go about 4 miles or so west of town towards I-71. Tons of vintage stuff but they don't crush much of anything... The other local yard that had tons of old cars crushed EVERYTHING about a year and a half ago. Money talks, and when you can crush cars and send them to China for cash for steel... Sadly, Sixty eight, you may yet own that 61 caddy...in the form of a Toaster from Wall-Mart! Chris
  20. On some collector cars, yes...but I was at a Car show this AM and a woman there turned down 90K for a 67 Camaro SS-350 ragtop... Some of the less desireables are going down, but the primo p-ieces are still bringing big bucks... Chris
  21. Having lived in Atlanta and Chicago, I can tell you that we need to reduce congestion. We've got twice the population of the sixties and we seem to all travel about 4 times as far. Chris
  22. Yes it is, but I'd still rather have it on the floor. Chris
  23. Our Astro took a nasty 30 m.p.h. hit in the ass end from a Semi...that pushed it through a busy intersection and about 40 feet beyond... My wife drove it to work after the accident. When it went in to get fixed, the body shop guy said that there was no frame damage. Chris
  24. ...easy on us Miata fan's... Actually one of the Local SCCA guys is selling off his cars. In addition to his Miata he is selling, he is getting rid of a really nice 63 Cadillac. I was going to go look at both but I think he's got them both sold. At the very least I could haul the Miata around in the trunk of the caddy... Chris
