  1. They'll drop the prices ten large on Lexus when gas hits $6.50 a gallon... Chris
  2. A flower car would be cool also...I have an interest in funeral vehicles. Chris
  3. This car reminds me of a Chevy I almost bought...IIRC it was a "Laguna" with a sloped nose. Anybody remember those? Also, the swivel buckets in those cars were just the Cat's Ass. Those were great cars for double dates back in the day...they would hold two couples quite well IIRC. Chris
  4. Not just yes but Hell yes! Chris
  5. Keep us posted...I really hope you get that car. Also, sorry for my gas mileage comment. What I meant to say was that I've done better than 24 in several vehicles, you should do an easy 27-28 in that G5 I think. Whatever you end up doing...Good luck dude! Chris
  6. If I could tell you happy birthday in Spanish, I would...but you'll have to settle for english... Happy Birthday! Chris
  7. Hell, I'd settle for a 69 El-Camino... Chris
  8. The funny thing is that the real Japanese performance guys laugh at these guys as much as we do. Chris
  9. I have a whole lot of respect for the guys in the SCCA and NASA that actually race Civics. In the NASA championships at Mid-Ohio, the Honda Challenge H1 Civics and integras were actually FASTER around Mid Ohio than the Camaro-Mustang challenge V-8 cars. But as for the ricers... It is funny the number of guys that will turn tail and run with a ricer when anything faster rolls around. The ricer boys run away and hide when my buddy Dave and I cruise around in his SVT Focus. A SS Superchanged/Turbocharged Cobalt for about 16 large used would eat that thing for lunch and $h! sushi out its tailpipe. Chris
  10. I would just love an Olds of this generation, mustang84. A ragtop would be just awesome, as well as a Vista Cruiser... Chris
  11. So in mostly rural driving with a light foot, 25 mpg wouldn't be unexpected? Chris
  12. Actually the Chasis of the Cobalt is just fabulous IMHO. The car handles very, very well in some ways. It's not a bad looking car either. I'd buy one before I'd buy a Focus... Chris
  13. I'd second the Saab and Hummer thing, HUmmer will be a drag on cash if oil prices stay high. Chris
  14. If oil does drop to $80 a barrel, it will only be for a short time. Chris
  15. Presently, I'm getting about 33-35 City in my Scion xB... But that G5 looks great, I'd go for it.. Chris
  16. I wish that I could convince myself that the Accord was sharp...I love Honda engeneering, and the one Accord I did own ran for 225k of trouble free 35 m.p.g. miles. Your love of Honda is not unfounded...I just can't personally marry the present accord for 60 payments of $459 to put it in my driveway. Chris
  17. Amen to that, brother. Now if we can just convince everyone else in America... Chris
  18. I'd like to try this... Chris
  19. It isn't that easy...these people can't be replaced overnight and they know it. This is one of the reasons that I bought a Toyota for my last new car purchase. I can't stomach the thought of my money going to UAW workers. Chris
  20. ...ah yes, a RWD GM car with v8 power in every other driveway... Damned glad I grew up when I did. Chris
  21. Hey, my whole family (mother, mother in law, father in law, father, sister, brother in law, other brother in law, etc.) has owned at least one Honda product as a daily driver and loved it. My whole family thinks this thing is UGLY. Not that we are the sole arbiters of good taste...but this thing has far from unanimous approval on its styling. Chris
  22. The Jetta I really could live with but the Accord and Camry...UGLY IMHO. I don't think the buyers of Camry's are just ignorant and sheep, but I do think they buy a car as an appliance more than on appearance. Chris
  23. If it is American made, I may ahve to buy one for the Mrs. Chris
  24. This is one reason that I am proud of being non-union. Chris
