  1. That's one neat clock, PCS...
  2. The 3100 and 3800 are about equal in reliability in my eyes, the 3400's got some more issues than the other two such as head gaskets.... The 3100 had Head Gasket problems pre-1997 before the Gen III Engine came out... Overall, anything with the 3100 Gen III or 3800 is a good bet... the Century was the most reliable Midsize Car according to JD Power for almost the entire span of the final generation between 1997-2005.
  3. I'm not even American and I got like 79% of them right....
  4. The Two Zetas @ the Lansing River Plant are gonna be the Lucerne & DTS replacements... The smaller Zetas (Impala, G8) will go to Oshawa... :twocents:
  5. Okay, so if I ensure that it gets synthetic at all times from the time I buy it, I should be fine then?? I'm looking for one with about 45K Miles or 70K Kms anyways?
  6. How About Oil, When It gets on in mileage, is synthetic oil good, or should it run on normal motor oil...
  7. You can always mod the B-Pillar out if you were so desperate...
  8. Dancing on the Ceiling, Lionel Richie.
  9. I agree Knightfan, This is by far one of THE defining Cadillac Songs... http://youtube.com/watch?v=59H4S-a8Wj4
  10. Ouch! 15c. per liter isn't worth that, premium it is. I'll ask when I have him look @ the timing chain on the Cavalier...
  11. Another question.... If I purchased this car, should it be serviced through a good indie mechanic or the dealership, cost and service wise... I've been tempted with the Cavalier, but it's just the city car so it's not a big deal... I found this good mechanic that my Grandpa used to use and I've been itching to try him out.
  12. That's Poetry in Motion.
  13. I'll spread the word... sounds reasonable for the price.
  14. Thanks, Fly.... We're talking purely hypothetical here at this point... It'd be a weekend car and wouldn't put much mileage on it so I don't think Premium would be that bad of a financial commitment... The 2000+ DeVilles that were okay to run on Octane 87 appear to be more troublesome anyways... So I'll limit it to 1997-1999 DeVille/Aurora... Did the mileage ever stabilize on 87 octane? What kind of economy drop did you experience with the Aurora on '87? I don't care as much about acceleration... Do you think I could get away with one Premium, then One Plus/Regular Tank or 2 Regular Tanks to a Premium (I'm half Scottish, and I can pinch a mean penny) It's not about the money though... I could afford to fill it with premium the whole time...
  15. That's okay, It's almost the same question But, Afterall, you can hijack anything you want, right ...
  16. So it looks like maybe a 4th car on the horizon as soon as this summer over here.... Short Listed to 1996-1999 DeVille or 1995-1999 Aurora... I've got to ask, I've heard some things about the N* and Aurora V8 that cast doubt on durability. I know that they can sometimes burn alot of oil, but what else is your experience with these cars... Do you think that If I found a DeVille with like 70K Kms... that It would be wise to buy... or is the G-Body a better idea? Another thing is the gas... Could I get away with 89 octane in these cars, or 87 Octane with an Octane/Quality Additive? Also, if I was to get a K-Body Deville, or Aurora what things would I want a mechanic to check out before a purchase?
  17. the song is "Cadillac Style" by Sammy Kershaw.
  18. You know... Like when someone adds something inaccurate/exaggerated into a song/poem to make it rhyme/flow better...
  19. It HAS to be poetic license... According to Wikipedia, both Chevrolet and Cadillac stuck to V8s and never experimented with I8s... Only Oldsmobile and Buick had them I believe.
  20. and 30 Years later, brown is again the 'in' Buick colour.... Don't you love it when things come full circle?
  21. Maybe it was just a terrible nightmare...
  22. Guiness
  23. Where shall I send it to, your toaster perhaps? Keep Pushing... Maybe Toyota will screw up the customer service like they did with this guy... the dealer refused to honor his 30 Day Money Back Guarantee that was on the FJ's Brochure . There should be more than enough evidence to prevent her from buying a Toyota... Their Customer Service is CRAP etc... In the mean time I'll chant NoToyota, NoToyota, NoToyota (it's a good mantra).
  24. Nope, He didn't, I just chatted with him on the phone... Toyota's now a 4 Letter Word with his father.
  25. Well, My friend says he went down there and told 'em the deal was up... They told him to take it up with head office... He's writing a letter. In the mean time, they're gonna take delivery and garage it until someone takes it back... Even If they have to contact the local TV Networks to tell them what's going on. Basically he went down there and said no go... The offered him a more well equipped TURD instead. The good news is that I lit a fire under this guy, and apparently did more of his own research on Toyota before he went down there... So buy the time he went down there, he was well acquainted with Sludge, Camshafts, Frame Flex, Bulging body parts, Airbag Sensors, Sudden Acceleration, and FLOOR MATS before he went down there. When he told them why he didn't want a TURD, he was offered a similar 4Runner, again no dice... Last I heard, he was Down @ HUMMER testing an H3, @ Nissan testing a Titan, and @ Honda Testing a Ridgeline... I told him to go for the H3 or Titan. I give this guy props, he went down there and tore a strip off the salesman and Toyota in general, criticizing them for everything from closed recalls to suppressing info on potential problems. He said he'd never buy a Toyota... EVER!
