  1. Please don't ever forget... everyone's family is fucked up. We're all in that boat.

    Aww, mute.
  3. BAH, HUMBUG on that kind of attitude, you two boys. :AH-HA_wink:
  4. Oh, I'm afraid to check links. I might see nekkid girls. :AH-HA_wink: Of course, you're right, Enzora. I remember now, my uncle's '69 Mach was red with black stripes down there. His car didn't have a spoiler, maybe that's what stupified me. And on the Super Cobra Jet thing, I guess I'm showing how much I know about old Fords...
  5. It was gawjus here yesterday, about 57 degrees and sunny. A perfect day for a Lowe's contractor to install a new front door on my house (it looks great too, I'm happy). It's supposed to be another great day today... I should take the truck to my favorite local car wash and clean him up, but I have to start Christmas shopping sometime.
  6. There's a white Monte SS with red graphics and t-tops on a used car lot near my work. I am sooo tempted....
  7. Hey TJ, what model is that black '69 Mustang? It's not a Mach 1, is it? I think it's something else... Boss 429 SCJ? It's cool, but may favourite old 'Stang is the '70 Boss 302 in orange with the rear window louvers intact.
  8. Just don't come across it. :AH-HA_wink: I have some old magazines from the 70's down at the farm yet. I really need to go down and get that stuff before my aunt & uncle burn it. Motor Trend, mostly, with Car & Driver and a few others thrown in.
  9. LONG LIVE ROAD HEAD! :AH-HA_wink:
  10. That's a 1969 Chevelle Concours, a top-of-the-line Chevelle, over the Malibu in features and price. The Concours name was later used on a late-70's luxury edition Nova, then we all remember the Cadillac Concours from the mid-to-late 90's, the sport model Deville.
  11. Ah, '85: the last of the goodlooking Eldos until '92. I love the '79-'85 E-bodies. My favourites are the Riviera S - and T-Types, and the Eldorado Touring Coupe.
  12. Yeah, that kit car has been posted here before. It is based on the last-gen four seater Thunderbird.
  13. 318 or 383 and Torqueflite, baybee... tough as freakin' nails! :)

Hmmm... I didn't really take Vipes for a tree hugger, up until he flat out told us.
  15. Yes, I just went to a 300 history site, and it's true, they only skipped the "I", for some reason, then later stopped lettering them altogether. If they had to repeat a letter though, the '57 is a good one to choose. What a beauty!
  16. Yeahbut, Chrysler did this before, didn't they? Jumble the alphabet, I mean. Sometime in the 60's. I'll have to research my claim and get back.
  17. Cool! While the rear is kinda homely, the front is nifty. To me, it has a mini-T-Bird look to it in the front. I wish I could post a pic of the T-Bird I'm thinking of, for contrast. Also, something about the very general theme of the front end reminds me of the '61 Lincoln. It had to be a Ford. Which nationality was this car?
  18. A Huge Happy Brithday to GMTruckGuy74 and Fijian. I know, that other guy's birthday is kinda close, but today's your day. Enjoy it, guys!

Please balthy... finish her... she's gonna be a shining symbol.
  20. Could the B-pillar have been a band-aid for some structural problem? I still love those '61-'67 Continentals. They were the best looking Lincoln ever, 2 and 4 door.
  21. But... if memory serves, there is a precedent for jumbling the alphabet in the Letter Series cars, long before the current C.
  22. I love GM's overmuscled swagger in this closs (british accent), but overall I'd take the GTI as well. The VW's combination of luxury, stout structure, and speed with the 2.0L DI Turbo, as well as the promise of the nimbler new chassis, puts it over the top, imo. It's time for Delta cars to get a simple, light, effective AWD system. Imagine an HHR SS DI Turbo with AWD, or a "Club Sport" Cobalt with fewer creature comforts to lighten it up, no rear wing, slightly flared fenders... and that drivetrain/chassis combo. Subie who? By the by, feast on this visual... Pontiac Vibe Mk II, based on Delta with the same engine and chassis developments mentioned above. Could be enough to make a Pontiac fan forget about the dull, Toyota-based Mk I.
  23. Please, at least keep your apron on, Walt! :P :AH-HA_wink:
  24. Well, I owned a '65 Corvair Monza coupe as a second car. Dark green metallic/fawn vinyl interior. 110 hp/Powerglide. I bought it with 93k original, documented miles. It had a bit of rust here and there when I got it. The trunk floor was gone. I bought a '68 donor car (just a shell, not worth saving at that point) just for the trunk floor. I had the bodywork all done and the original paint color resprayed. The bumpers were rechromed, and I cleaned up the aluminum trim. The interior was in good condition, it just needed a cleanup. The engine leaked oil, so I had it taken out and resealed with a gasket kit from Clark's Corvair Parts. I had the wheel cylinders replaced. I put rebuilt carbs on myself (two one barrels). It had skinny 165 tires on it, so I put 185/60R13 blackwalls on it. This car was such a fun cruiser after it was all done. I lived about an hour from Annapolis, MD at the time, and I used to love driving it around the historic district in that beautiful town. I also drove the 4 hour round trip to visit family here in PA several times. I really loved that little car, but alas, I had no place to keep it out of the weather over the winter, just a shallow shed (three feet of the car was not under roof) with a car cover. After two winters like this, I could see I couldn't really preserve the car the way I wanted to, so I made the heartbreaking decision to sell it. I'd love to one day be able to afford another one.
  25. Both of them are perfect for hauling big wedges of cheese. It's amazing what people settled for in those days. Still, I can confidently say a larger percentage of these are still on the road than any Japanese pickup of that vintage. Yeahright, I want to be just like Don Knotts and drive a Dude! (Whoa, that sounded funny.) One cool thing... the Dodge has a bullseye grille, just like all newer Dodges.
