Cadillac News: Cadillac ELR Pricing Set at $75,995
ocnblu replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Maybe not East Coast, but it might find a niche on the West Coast. Anyway, the price seems ludicrous for what it is under the pretty face. ??? I thought we read that GM stated that the gas engine does directly power the wheels when it is needed. Unless I missed something published later. -

What are the software enhancements v. the Volt? Does it have a more powerful range extender? Please fill me in on that. Be cooler if there were. -

I mean, this horse is an absolutely dry skeleton... BUT, to illustrate a point... look how much farther apart the haves are from the have-nots... Cavalier ===> Cimarron Volt ===> ELR Both cases - weak powertrains At least the ELR is a knockout in a different bodystyle EXR with 2.0t and six speed manual would have been nice @ $40k -

More money than brains, I'm afraid. It's a gorgeous little car, but there is no way to get around the fact that it is based on a Chevrolet product. Although the Escalade hasn't been hurt by that. WAY too much money. -
Devil's advocate.

Good riddance to the complication and questionable purpose of e-Assist. -
Well, I hope it's not too late to wish you a good day, sir.

I hope she's only "playing" stupid. Anyhow, dude stayed on message. Diesels rock.

true story!

Oh man, really? Is that '73 Grandville that bad? Are the floors out of it? We got our first new style Mazda 3 sedan. Pearl white. Not my favorite color, but a snazzy looking little car... the best looking in the class, easily, imo.

No need to "answer" Tesla. They'll never speak to the masses. Only weird folk. -
It sat out in the cool weather all day and didn't make a peep coming home. I'm still good.

Still feels very solid, which it should at only 10k miles. Since the recent weather cool-off though, I have noticed a periodic buzz from the gauge pod that sits on top of the dash, with oil temperature, boost, and stopwatch. I've been trying to press on it from different angles to make it stop. Mostly, I've been successful. That's my only complaint so far.

Cadillac News: 2015 Cadillac Escalade Pics Leak Ahead Of Reveal

I am loving the all-of-a-piece body on the new trucks and SUVs... the gaps are so tiny... the panels are so much smoother stamped than on past models. If one knows what they're looking at, they are really outstanding. Waves in the sheetmetal are all but eliminated, the stamping process has really come along... ensuring a better coefficient of drag, and a higher quality overall look to the body. GO, GM! Bravo! -

Hmmm... I think it needs visible vertical bars in the grille. And I am not quite sure about the CTS wagon-style taillights... based on the screen shots, of course. -
My guess is they'll steer light duty diesel intenders toward the new midsize trucks.

I like that idea, for some subliminal reason. Can't put my finger on it.

You should get one of those diesel Grand Cherokees with the 8 speed automatic. I think you'd love it. -
Here's a crank for ya. And a crank start still has to have electricity from somewhere, even if it were only a magneto. Z-06 "Jetta Hybrid", you are slaying me tonight
-
Cool, that would be what I'd get if I could afford it.

Z-06! Now see, you guys got some good information posted about your little humming "cars" that some ppl might find interesting! See how that whole "pro and con" thing works??? The Leaf "car" can travel, maybe, one second faster to 60 mph than my car with a good driver... but I can stay on the road for 635 miles before stopping to fuel up... and it takes me about ten minutes to fill my diesel tank... how much time is lost driving a Leaf "car" over 635 miles? WAY more than one second, buckaroos. -

So, riding in a Tesla over 1400 miles is exactly like sitting in a warm bubblebath, with no stress whatsoever? Not that I'd want to do it in a CR-V of your vintage either... my Bug is pretty darn comfortable and quiet up to 100 mph (that's as fast as I've had it so far), and I can go 635 miles in my car before I have to stop for fuel. -

But now I have to hop in the shower and run over to my bro's house for his wife's b-day dinner, a short hop of ten miles or so. Good thing I have a 500 gallon tank of diesel here at home to fuel up my car. Have fun!
