  1. Tomorrow, Alfa Romeo will be showing the long awaited Giulia sedan. But the folks at CarScoops got their hands on two pictures before the debut. The pictures show the model using a number of cues from other Alfa models such as the trunk lid and taillights. Judging from the pictures, it appears this particular Giulia is a performance model with blacked-out wheels and twin-tailpipes. We'll have more on the Giulia when Alfa Romeo reveals it tomorrow. Source: CarScoops
  2. Chevrolet has an interesting week. Tomorrow, the automaker will be revealing the next-generation Cruze. Then a day after, the 6th generation Camaro Convertible will be shown for the first time. Unfortunately for Chevrolet, someone posted the images of the new Camaro Convertible on Chevy's site. The company has pulled them down, but the folks at Camaro6.com got the images. Not surprisingly, the convertible looks much the same as the coupe. We'll have more details on the drop-top Camaro later this week. Source: Camaro6.com
  3. This has not been a good week for Audi in terms of leaks. Earlier this week, we reported on a video that showed Audi introducing the RS3 sedan to employees. Now a product roadmap has come to light showing what's in store for next two years. Dutch site Autobahn.eu got their hands on a picture showing the timeline for Audi products in 2017 and 2018. Let's start with 2017. The roadmap shows the RS3 sedan, the Q7 e-tron (a plug-in hybrid that will either come with a gas or diesel engine), and the SQ7 (performance version much like the SQ5 that could offer a tweaked supercharged V6 or a V8). We also spy the A5 and S5 coming in 2017 - makes sense as the new A4 has been launched and the A5 is basically an A4 coupe. 2017 will also a second-generation of the TT RS. 2018 is where some big news comes in. This will be the year where Audi will introduce two new crossovers, an electric one and the Q8 (we believe to be a coupe-like crossover). There's a new RS5 and what most people have been going crazy about, a V6 version of the R8 supercar. Autoblog speculates this could be due to Chinese market taxing high displacement engines. Nevertheless, we'll be seeing if this leaked roadmap pans out in the future or not. Source: Autobahn.eu, Autoblog
  4. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com December 3, 2013 Someone at Ford and Autoweek Magazine aren't having a very good day as the first shots of the 2015 Mustang have leaked out before the official reveal on Thursday. SVTPerformance.com member Screamin 40th posted images of the December 9th Autoweek that happened to be delivered early and features the 2015 Mustang prominently. The 2015 Mustang's design is an obvious evolution of the current model with elements of the new Fusion on the front end and side profile. The back end features an updated three-bar taillight setup, rear diffuser, and the lack of a faux gas cap. Inside is a deep-dish steering wheel, dual-gauge instrument cluster, and a revised center stack with MyFordTouch. We can't make out much of the article from the pictures, but there a few items that we able to make out: 2015 Mustang will feature a independent rear suspension setup Curb weight will drop around 200 pounds Keyless ignition will be standard Mention of a performance pack for the 2.3L EcoBoost and 5.0L V8 Luckily we don't have to wait much longer as Ford will spill the beans on the 2015 Mustang on Thursday. 5. November 19th, 2013 Drew Dowdell Managing Editor - CheersandGears.com Along with dropping trou on the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, the Edmunds video responsible for the most recent LA Auto Show picture leaks also totally pantses the Subaru WRX,shown here playing in the dirt. Update: Edmunds has since removed the video from Youtube. We saw some teaser pictures of the 2015 Subaru WRX about a week ago, so the overall look isn't much of a surprise, but it is nice to see it here finally in full view. The Subaru WRX has never been a real looker as far as sports cars go, but enthusiasts don't seem to mind. This latest iteration looks rough and ready to run. 6. November 19th, 2013 Drew Dowdell Managing Editor - CheersandGears.com We've had relatively few leaks in the days and weeks leading up to the LA Auto Show, but some where bound to happen. Earlier today, Edmunds.com posted an LA Auto Show Preview to their YouTube channel that featured a picture of the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Woopsie! Update: Edmunds has since removed the video from Youtube. Update 2: More pictures have leaked out, check out the gallery below for an interior and rear view. 7. October 7th, 2013 Drew Dowdell Managing Editor - CheersandGears.com Ahead of tonight's reveal of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, pictures started tumbling out via Autoblog.com. Carscoops.com snagged some screenshots of the video before it was taken down. We don't know much about the technical details yet, but the look is what you would expect from the Cadillac version the the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. We already saw pictures of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade interior last week. Stay tune to CheersandGears.com for the official pictures and a video live stream of the reveal event at 7:30pm eastern time. Update: At the moment, there is no video embed link. You can watch the reveal on Youtube. 2015 Cadillac Escalade Live Reveal Drew Dowdell is Managing Editor of CheersandGears.com and can be reached at Drew.Dowdell@cheersandgears.com or on twitter as @cheersngears
  8. By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com March 24, 2013 Even though we are coming to the end of Auto Show season, the leaks about what new vehicles will make their debut are coming still. Case in point are some shots that are reportedly the new 2014 Cadillac CTS. While the shots don't reveal the entire vehicle, they do show the CTS' new front end which features a larger grille and strips of LEDs running from the fog lights and continue to the top of the headlights. Also shown is the rear end and one of the door panels. The door panel shot has us curious since it seems Cadillac is really stepping up in the interior materials. We're not sure if these shots are the real deal or not, but we can say they do match up with previous spy shots. We'll find out if its the real deal not when the 2014 CTS makes it debut later this week at the New York Auto Show. Update: Now with more complete shots -dd Source: upcomingvehiclesx's flickr William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. 9. By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com February 19, 2013 Say hello to the to the redesigned Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Pictures of the redesigned model surfaced today on the web, well ahead of its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The exterior design of the Continental Flying Spur borrows heavily from the Continental GT and GTC. The biggest change deals with the rear end as Bentley redesigned it to bring it more in line with the larger Mulsanne sedan. The Flying Spur's interior has been updated to keep it in line with the Continental GT and GTC, and features a new dash layout, steering wheel, and instrument panel. Power will come from 6.0L W12 engine which currently makes 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Also coming will be a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine. We'll have more info on the Flying Spur when it makes its official introduction at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Source: AutoWP.ru William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. 10. By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com February 13, 2013 Everyone has been going somewhat crazy with a PowerPoint presentation given to analysts at Deutsche Bank by Ford. The reason? Well, one of the slides in the presentation has a Ford Edge that's not like the current model. That has everyone thinking that the Edge in the presentation is what the next generation model will look like. The somewhat blurry image from the slide shows the Edge keeping its current shape. The only changes are a new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights. Is this the next-generation Ford Edge? We don't know if it is or not. 11. Someone at Lincoln Canada isn't having the best of days. The site revealed the 2016 Lincoln MKX before its official debut at the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday. We're assuming this is an accidental leak judging by how the link to the MKX now leads to an error page. But nevertheless, we have pictures and some information about Lincoln's newest model. The exterior very much mimics the smaller MKC crossover and that isn't a bad thing, since it doesn't look like a rebadged Ford Edge. Such details as HID lights with LED accents, a camera that pops up from the front emblem, and a panoramic sunroof are apparent in the pictures. Inside, the interior layout is similar to newer Lincoln models. The difference is that you'll find buttons and knobs to control the climate and radio, not the awful touch controls that have been a part of Lincoln models for the past few years. We don't know much on what engines or transmissions the MKX will come with. The only engine we know of is a 2.7L EcoBoost that will be optional. We'll have more information and pictures live from Detroit when Lincoln introduces the 2016 MKX on Tuesday, January 13th at 10:25 AM You can sign up to follow all the stories from Detroit here, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. 12. Early this morning, pictures of the upcoming Audi Q7 leaked out ahead of its scheduled reveal. A few hours later, the official release came from Audi. The big new for the Q7 is a 716 lb reduction in weight. Starting at 4,398 lbs, Audi's biggest crossover takes the title of lightest in its class. The Q7 achieves this with a multi-material body composed of both aluminum and ultra high strength steel components. Overall, the exterior size is smaller in both length and width, cabin space is larger. Powertrains for the US will include a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 252 hp / 272 lb-ft, a 3.0 liter turbocharged gasoline V6 producing 333 hp and 324 lb-ft, and a 3.0 liter V6 turbo-diesel producing 272 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. Later, a second detuned version of the 3.0 TDI will be released with a turn towards high mpg efficiency. All engines will be mated to a brand new 8-speed automatic sending power through a revised Quattro all-wheel drive system. Inside, the Q7 gains a host of new technologies, including optional 10.1" Android tablets built into the car as rear seat monitors. These tablets connect to the MMI navigation system and available on-board LTE Wifi. The tablets have a full HD camera, 32gb of storage, bluetooth and NFC. The entertainment system features a new smartphone interface. If either an iOS or Android device is connected to the car via USB, the respective system is opened in in the Audi Smartphone interface. (minimum device OS versions are required) The voice control system now uses natural speech control so drivers are no longer limited to specific commands. If a customer orders the Tour package, an optional addition to the adaptive cruise control is traffic jam assistant. In this mode, the Q7 will take care of all of the driving at speeds below 37mph and while in heavy congestion. Q7 sales have been increasing steadily over the last few years with sales up 21% verse this period last year after a 41% increase in 2013, but Audi still has a way to go before catching up to segment leader Mercedes. 13. Auto show season is upon us and that usually means that leaks are bound to happen. Case in point is Road and Track which published, and subsequently pulled an article revealing the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. But this being the age of internet, Road and Track's info and pictures made onto to other sites (like the one you're reading). The car shown here is very much the same that spy photographers caught only a few weeks back. However these studio shots give us a much better look of what to expect. The front sports a mean look with black mesh grille and heat extractor on the hood. Around back is a spoiler and a set of quad exhausts. Those looking for a bit more aggression will be happy to know that a package offering different front, splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler will be on offer. Under the hood is TT 3.6 V6 from the CTS V-Sport. For the ATS-V, it makes 450 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic. The suspension has been tuned to provide 50 percent more stiffness and a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires keep it on the road. We'll have more details when the Cadillac ATS-V is revealed at the LA Auto Show next week. Source: Road and Track via Autoblog William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. 14. By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com January 13, 2013 We're just a day away from the Detroit Auto Show starting and the leaks have been pouring out. Four automakers: Honda, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen have had their showings prematurely revealed within the past week. We'll start with Honda and their Urban SUV Concept. The concept is based on the Fit and has a sporty and dynamic SUV profile. Next is the Infinti Q50 (Yes, the successor to the G Sedan) which was leaked by Infiniti Canada on their site before being taken down. Luckily someone saved an image of the site and shared it. The Q50 has a similar design to the current M (or should I say Q70) with a large front grille, upswept headlights, and a hood featuring flowing ridges and peaks. Mercedes-Benz has plans to reveal the new CLA at Detroit. That didn't stopped someone from leaking a shot of the production CLA earlier this week. The picture shows the production model is much like the concept shown last year. Finally there is Volkswagen who will be showing a concept seven-seat crossover alongside the Passat Performance concept. The leaked picture shows the crossover having a mix of Volkswagen Toureg and Audi Q7 in the design. We'll have information and pictures when these vehicles are officially shown at Detroit (or Geneva in the CLA's case) this week. 15. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com October 18, 2012 Last month, we published a story on what was to be expected from next-generation Mazda3. Today, Auto Express got their hands on what is purported to be the new Mazda3. "Print-outs of these pictures were delivered to the Auto Express office in an unmarked envelope, and we’ve scanned them so you can take a look," Auto Express reports. The renderings show the 3 wearing the Kodo design language with shield-like front grille, chrome-trim that runs around the perimeter of the grille and into the headlights, embellished wheel-wells, and a up-swept line. When Auto Express asked Mazda about these pictures, Mazda responded that these renderings "are to show how the Kodo design language translates to new models, rather than a real car." 16. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com September 25, 2012 A few images of what appears to be the new Subaru Forester have made their way onto the web. The images are reportedly from the Forester's Japanese market brochure. The Forester's exterior is now in line with the rest of the Subaru lineup thanks to a new front end , sleeker taillights, and a new sculpted hatch. The interior is lifted form the new Impreza. Under the new skin lies a new platform from the new Impreza. Dimension wise, the Forester has grown in most areas, while retaining a 103 in. wheelbase. Power for the Japanese market Forester will come in the form of 2.0L boxer-four producing 146 HP and a 2.0L turbo boxer-four producing 276 HP. As for the North American market, the engine could be the 2.5L boxer-four producing 173 HP. The new Forester is expected to be revealed sometime later this year, with sales beginning sometime in 2013. Source: CarScoop William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. 17. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com September 19, 2012 Auto show season is upon us and it means two things; new cars and leaks. Case in point, a picture of the new Jaguar F-Type roadster was leaked earlier this afternoon by spy photographer and friend of C&G, Chris Doane. "Something interesting just popped up in my inbox..." Doane wrote as the caption on the picture on his Facebook fan page. The new F-Type looks to be almost a dead ringer for the C-X16 coupe concept shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, minus the roof. Powertrains will include two supercharged V6s and a possibility of a 5.0L supercharged V8. We'll learn more info about the F-Type when it premieres at the Paris Motor Show next week or before then. (Author's note: Chris has since taken down the picture by request of Jaguar. -WM) Source: Chris Doane Automotive LLC, Motor Authority William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. 18. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com June 19, 2012 The internet is a wonderful place for things to leak out before their official debut. The latest leak comes from Aston Martin as their new flagship, the Vanquish was revealed before its official debut. From the few pictures that were leaked, the Vanquish appears to be mix of the current DB9 and some new designs. Under the body lies a heavily revised version of Aston Martin’s VH platform. Power will come from a revised 6.0L V12 engine producing 565 HP and 457 lb-ft of torque. Power will be sent to a six-speed "Touchtronic 2" automatic transmission. Reportedly, the Vanquish will hit sixty in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 183 MPH. We'll have more on the new Vanquish when Aston Martin officially shows it. Unfortunately for Chevrolet, someone posted the images of the new Camaro Convertible on Chevy's site. The company has pulled them down, but the folks at Camaro6.com got the images.
