  2. True dat on the lack of a compass on the Compass/Patriot. That's the first thing I said to the salesboy when I first test drove it. A travesty, imo, as I have no use for nav systems, but a compass has been invaluable to me in my GM vehicles.
  3. So glad they went with Mojave Tan and not Oompa Loompa Orange on the interior. The seats look the same as the RS seats in a different color, nice! In this class of car, I prefer the hatchback for its versatility, but I do like the style of the little Sonic sedan the best of anything it directly competes with. And it has a big trunk for its size. A Sonic Dusk coupe (simple 2-door conversion on the sedan body) would be the bomb. On style, it is upright, a bit stubborn, with just a hint of sport, and a lot of honesty, sort of like the first-gen Chevy II sedan. The Dusk package takes it upscale nicely.
  4. The car at SEMA has the black&tan seats, which, I hope, means the production model will match it.
  5. You're internationally known! Have yourself a good day, sir.
  6. That's the photo I saw originally. I prefer the color layout in the photo directly above. It is more a real saddle color, and I like the increased use of black to break up the tan. I do like the line of stitching running across the dash and into the door trim panels, though, on the orange-y shot.
  7. Yes sir, I use the DIC to tend to my oil changes. But these oil change shops are still pushing 3k oil changes, and writing it on the oil change sticker.
  8. Label is on bottom of glove box, not on the glovebox door.
  9. YES SIR, that is it. However, that interior photo is different from the one I sawr over at another site. I do prefer the interior treatment posted over at the other site, in which the seats and dash were a more saddle tan color in the butt and back areas with lateral sew lines, with black bolsters and tan stitching on the black areas. It also had an all-black steering wheel and a manual shifter boot of black leather with tan stitching and a black knob.
  10. See how that works? Thanks for posting that link. So, a whole host of brands are approved for the Dexos1 rating, both full synthetic and synthetic blends. That will make a lot of GM buyers feel a bit better about this new requirement, even though it does require customers to spend more money on oil... and they'll just go back every 3,000 miles like the sticker on the windshield says, they won't pay attention to the DIC or the owner's manual.
  11. Did you guys see the new production model Sonic Dusk sedan being shown at SEMA this year? Similar in color to the Camaro Dusk, it mimics the color, wheel design and interior color of the Camaro Dusk. The interior is a really nice black and Saddle leather combo. Very nice looking little car, imo. But, I cannot figger out how to bring the photos over to post here. At least three photos can be found elsewhere on the internet.
  12. Using the money from the sale of Green to buy your poly plow for Red?
  13. What is it with GM and these "required" fluids? First it was Dexcool antifreeze, and that was somewhat of a disaster with all the clogged-up radiators and engine cooling passages. Now they're requiring the use of this Dexos semi-synthetic motor oil. I hope this doesn't turn into another bad idea. I think I read where they'll void your warranty unless Dexos is used and documented, if someone can confirm or deny for me. It's one thing, for example, to "recommend" Mobil 1 in the Corvette, but this Dexos situation, requiring its use on everything from Spark to XTS, seems like extortion to me. Besides... SO many things happen when cars are in the hands of customers. Jiffy Lube... Wal-Mart service centers... any number of mom-and-pop garages will be changing the oil on these cars in years hence. I predict another debacle and future ill will toward GM on behalf of customers over this. Seems like any 5W-30 should suffice. GM is citing fuel economy concerns as a reason for instituting this policy, but it sounds to me like they want everyone to go to the dealership for maintenance... or else.
  14. I'm looking forward to off-road packages on the new GM trucks, both sizes, with a balance of capability and affordability.

Asking price, I'm sure there is some wiggle room. Maybe I'll go up there and look at it tomorrow. NADA says it's worth $7875 in my zipcode. Edmunds says it's worth $5777. KBB says $7949.

Maybe it's time to get off my merry-go-round of new vehicles. Especially since I am looking for work... again.

There's a 2004 Colorado LS regular cab 4X4 with 143k and a five cylinder for sale at a local well-established used car dealer. Asking $7995. What do you guys think? Looks clean from here:
  18. boy----> surround----> I got nothin' oh Custer
  19. Prolly nothing we say can make that father feel worse. He should have given his son a Salsa Spark, if he really wanted a red car. Or an '82 LeSabre with a 3.8L 110 hp powerhouse.
  20. ??? compactness, reliability, simplicity, power extraction, fuel economy. So glad it's not a sissy-ass DOHC V8.
  21. Check in the glovebox for the option label. I think the suspension codes are "F", at least in the cars. Just curious, no rush, interested in seeing the differences.
  22. Nice photos, handsome trucks!
  23. Maybe it's all in the shocks and tires, that solid feeling.
  24. That's why it worked so well in this thread. Fuel from air? LOL.
