  1. Thanks for posting! The different perspective is very interesting to see, and since we have pretty much all the same manufacturers selling cars down here as you do, it is very pertinent. Crazy, GM the smallest of the Detroit Big 3 in Canada for September.
  2. They've done away with the hood scoop on turbo models? That's kind of a shame. I guess it's cheaper to mold a different bumper cover than stamp out a different hood. I prefer the looks of the base model. About what one would expect, and in keeping with what loyalists want, I suspect.
  3. Yup, if it doesn't get lost in tall grass. Those speakers on the roof, though...

    Sandy

Times like this require ingenious Eggo waffle cooking solutions. Good luck to you, z, and to all who are still dealing with the aftermath.
  5. The Epsilon II cars are too narrow, honestly. Plenty of legroom and a decent-sized trunk in the Impala (before eek-Assist ruins that), but the impression is not enough interior width to truly feel like a fullsize.
  6. It's not just you. It is an odd vehicle that takes some getting used to.
  7. Staff Car.........
  8. Looks good. I wonder what that color is called.
  9. Well he gave other reasons, and I'm sure he has more he's not willing to lay out. Not the least of which is maximizing profits per unit, I'm sure. They can charge more for it with a waterfall grille.
  10. Ruess (sp?) basically said the Trax did not come here because it has the "old" Chevy face. Gives me immense hope for the US Colorado.
  11. Yup, I sawr that article.

  13. That's a lot of legroom! I wonder how the footwell intrusion is there in the front.

    Not Again...

Thanks for admitting that. I think we now have more fireball Fiskers than we had pyrotechnical Pintos. And apparently it is a trait shared by all electric cars. Imagine the death and destruction if these junkers were in customers' garages in the flood zone, instead of at the port. Unsafe At Any Speed.
  16. Apparently, GM thought they'd have about 1500 Encores ordered by dealers at this point, but the actual number is more like 9000. So Buick dealers are excited. Hopefully they'll be a quick turnaround for them.
  17. Over 45 inches of front legroom in the new Impala. And I think it said 38-39 inches in back. Not sure about hip and shoulder room, though.
  18. He traded it for a new '79 Cougar XR7 with a 302, light green/dark green top and interior. I remember at least one of the lower quarters on the Plymouth, rearward of the wheel, was starting to give way at the lower edge with rust. At that point, the car was only 5 years old!
  19. I don't want this to become a political thread. I'm posting this because I don't like the whole "selling my '63 Impala so I can buy a Prius" aspect of it. First of all, who in their right mind would sell a pristine '63 Impala and replace it with a Prius? Second of all, by depicting the domestic car as old and outdated, a candidate for replacement by a shiny new import, they are dissing the entire domestic auto industry. It is a subliminal message that really pisses me off. At the very least, they show the Impala with its loving, attentive new owner later in the piece, but by that point, the damage is done. Am I overreacting?
  20. Traction control is a hindrance in a lot of situations.
  21. So are they saying the big differentiator will be wheels, grilles and cladding? They went to the trouble of making different front clips, bedside skins and taillights on the 900, and not many people even noticed. These new ones appear to be going the same route. Maybe the interior visuals will be different between the two this time.

16 of them caught fire and exploded after being caught in the storm surge at the port: http://updates.jalopnik.com/post/34669789863/more-than-a-dozen-fisker-karma-hybrids-caught-fire-and
  23. '87 Deville Touring Coupe, black and gray two-tone... with a black canvas top and a chrome parthenon grille. Even when Cadillac tried to be cool back then, their dealers sabotaged them.
  24. Been close to 4 years already.
  25. I have to tell ya somethin' though. I used to ride to school with a step cousin before I got my license and he had a '74 Cuda with 318. His car was one of the baddest on that lot, he could lay waste to a brand new '78 Trans Am, among many others.
