  1. Looks a bit bigger than the 2013 Encore. A person could prolly drop an Encore out of the trunk of this '58 like a military cargo plane.
  2. If we're talking Ford, I'd still rather have the 5.0 over the Ecoboost. Cheaper to purchase, simpler to maintain over the long haul, and similar real-world fuel mileage. Ecoboost has sold because of dazzling marketing, not actual, tangible benefit to the customer.
  3. I spoke to ppl who own one of the three, and I read all of the owner reviews @ Edmunds, and I went on bespoke forums before making my purchasing decision. Everyone seems to get excellent wear out of these.
  4. Yup, I thought about my reading comprehension problem in this thread after I posted that.
  5. Haha, that White Horse is such a little darlin'. I want one! EDIT: it doesn't match balthy's decrepit photo though... was there a body redesign at some point?
  6. I wonder when the Patriot goes out of production, and if Compass/Patriot production will be ramped up at Belvidere with Caliber's death before the changeover to the new Fiat-based small Jeep.
  7. I test drove a bright blue G6 GTP 3.9L manual coupe at the BPG dealership... very nearly bought it. It was a nice car. Then I went and ordered my '07 Sierra. Little did I know it might be my last chance.
  8. Mini Ranchero painted in yellow and orange with an oak bed floor running around here... based on a FESTIVA.
  9. I understand why the VW Golf is at or near the top selling car in the EU year after year. It offers the best blend of longevity, practicality, fun, frugality, and timeless looks on the market... year after year.
  10. I like these Robot Jackrabbits From Space. I did not test drive one before buying my Patriot, as I was looking for something small yet rugged and country looking. The Juke is more urban sporty, but nice nonetheless.
  11. My cousin from Trenton FINALLY replaced her 260k mile Protege... with an Electrolyte Green 2012 Accent SE hatch. Sawr it today at family Christmas meet-up. Its name is Kermit.
  12. Facepalm city. Oh, the horror of not recognizing Right Wheel Drive.
  13. Thanks folks, yup.
  14. I'm still keyed up on adrenalin as I type this. Around 2:30 this morning I heard a commotion outside my house. Next thing I know, I hear a couple of bangs and the sound of a sliding door opening. I stayed quiet, got out of bed and peered out my bedroom door. Some old dude was IN MY HOUSE! I don't know if he was drunk or what, but I watched him try to stash some boxes under my tree. I figure he must have stolen them from somewhere. It was dark, but I could tell he was overweight, unshaven and wearing red and white pajamas. As quiet as I could so as not to be detected, I grabbed a nearby machete, flung on the light switch, and started swinging that machete like a helicopter. He was no match for my agility and determination to protect the sanctity of my home. By the time he crawled out of here, he had a lot less white and a lot more red showing on his pajamas. So I'm spending Christmas morning cleaning my carpets, fixing my door latch, and waiting for the cops. Just my luck, I guess.
  15. So... we have up-and-coming Hyundai/Kia and Chrysler bringing back to market, and sticking with, affordable RWD vehicles. While two giants of the genre, GM and Ford, run scared.
  16. I'm thinking it was fully intact throughout its journey. If it's anything like today, horizontal panels do not have the same corrosion protection as vertical body panels (water and dirt do not accumulate in roofs, hoods or decklids, there fore the factory doesn't spend the money). The roof prolly disintegrated, which left the glass vulnerable. The hood prolly rusted away from the latch and hinges, then a wave took it like a boogie board. And as far as the upholstery goes, there was a '55 Bel Air just across our property line in the woods on the farm, plastic parts of the upholstery still intact, cloth long gone, and we've all seen the "abandoned junkyard" vids on youtube, vinyl upholstery is super-permanent. The lasting chrome is a testament to GM's plating process back then. The steel bumper is likely gone behind it, leaving the chrome skin in a delicate facade. Very fascinating, yes. Could have been 1973 kids in a hand-me-down '64 Pontiac that was just another used car then. Partying on the beach, and either parked too close to the water or drowned out the engine playing around. That's my story.
  17. Be cool if it had a remote starter like my Patriot.
  18. Lincoln Mark grille, Impala signal lamps, Camaro lower grille, but I can't tell the headlight bezels or outer grille work from the grainy photo.
  19. neato. poor old battle ax impala stood no chance. i am confused on who won... kadett or mustang?
  20. Beautiful Buick GN with Cragar aluminum wheels. Late-model Mustang Bullit. And a red, white and blue Javelin with the factory style paint job they had available back in the day.
  21. Let's see... front fenders off a late model Javelin, doors off a Falcon, rear quarters off a 300, and greenhouse of an air-cooled VW Type 1. Not sure what the front end is from...
  22. OMG is that Blitzen?
  23. "He's smiling at me!"
