  1. 67impss, you know the 1.4t is available as an option on the LT and LTZ, right? I've seen them on the lots. The RS has no power bump, but it does have different gearing, suspension tuning, and 4 wheel discs in addition to cosmetic changes. At least it has more special hardware than Yaris SE, which IIRC is strictly cosmetic enhancements (verify?) As always, I am mystified as to why a 3-door is not offered. A 3-door Sonic RS would change my perception of it, honestly, it makes that much of a difference to me.
  2. That gray, modern take on the green one next to it is sexy as hell. And clearly based on the newest Wrangler. With a six cylinder diesel engine, it would be ALL MAN. LOVE. IT.
  3. I've not seen but maybe 2 on the road so far, and a $h!load of Fiestas. I still don't see evidence of real cool colour selection, like the Schpark has. Way too tame on the colour selection, ppl.
  4. GM is right to stop SAAB from getting into the wrong hands. Shame about all the employees though. The new 9-5 was a nice vehicle, too little too late.

  6. He sounded like Barry White when he said it. Normally he sounds like Sponge Bob.
  7. Can I get a price check on blinker fluid please? And do you have a listing for muffler bearings for a '73 Gran Torino?
  8. Lorena Bobbit
  9. I like these. Haven't seen one with a hood like that, I've only seen them with the louvers in the center, not the scoops. Maybe it was a W-30 thing in '74?
  10. And a relatively tiny trunk pre-loaded with boxes. And a noise like an airplane taking off coming from the parcel shelf via the battery cooling fan. Ew. I think the base engine might be the 2.5, with 2.0t & 3.6L optional. I'm thinking it will need a relatively simple, inexpensive base engine for fleets and economy-minded individuals.
  11. Local weatherman said this morning we have a slight chance for a white Xmas. I hope he's not playing with me.

True, 67impss. I think I posted a 4-speed Wildcat test drive vid a while back, very cool automobile. I'll have to find a Marauder vid to post.

Someone is killing the buzz in this thread.

BUT... GM is benchmarking the 3-Series with the ATS, from what we're told... anyway, we're spilling over now. We should not be doing that. This is a thread about cool, hotrod Chrysler coupes from back in the day.
  16. The ATS is no Cimarron, by any stretch. It's gonna be a heck of a nice car. I just hope it is perceived as such by the customers Cadillac is hoping to attract... Chevy motor and all. Ha... funny, trying to spin a turbo 4 as superior to a V6...

You are also pre-judging the very same vehicle (ATS). That's why we're here, to speculate about the future, because we care and are interested. I posted these Chrysler vids because I think they're nice cars. My grandfather loved his Chryslers. Looking at these examples, I can see why. No 225 CID Slant Six in these babies, no sirree.
  18. 2.0t and 3.6... maybe in a pinch, post-bankruptcy. But 2.5? Really? In 1975 Cadillac came out with their first "small" car, the Seville. It was powered by a 350 CID V8 (admittedly of Oldsmobile origin, but with FI, IIRC). It was NOT powered by a 250 CID Stovebolt Six out of a Nova. Back then, Cadillac was higher, if not at the top of the luxury car field, save for RR, which was actually stuck in time about a decade behind, technologically, as a result of the devastation of WWII and an old-world culture. M-B and BMW were oddballs then. This is the ultimate outcome of a beancounter mentality, using the same engine in a Chevrolet Malibu and an ATS. Or an Impala and an XTS.

You're just mad because I speaketh the trutheth.
  20. Lexus is not a top-tier luxury brand. It has no history whatsoever. Infiniti is not a top-tier luxury brand. It has no history whatsoever. Jaguar was owned by Ford. The small V8 used in the LS and Thunderbird (NOT a mainstream Ford) was a RARE case of exclusivity. Audi's 2.0t is longitudinally situated IIRC in addition to any other modifications. Sprinter's diesel V6 is suited to it. The Phaeton was not a mainstream Volkswagen, it was, and is, an anomaly.
  21. sigh... oh Lord.
  22. I'm imagining a world where CAFE is seen for what it is... ridiculous. Stretched LX Polara sedan, in civilian and police versions with 6.4L Hemi V8s.
