  1. reg OMG isn't it a bit personal to ask about my mom's measurements?
  2. A very nice job done to a car you just don't see anymore. Also, it is striking how much GM influence is seen in this design. The front end looks like a '77 Monte Carlo, and the rear end, a '77 Grand Prix. Just goes to show how much of a powerhouse GM design was, even in those days of malaise. Having said that, I'd rock it with Torquethrust wheels, or even Cragar S/S's with knock-off center caps.

  4. These visibility concerns will have to be addressed. Cameras and sensors cannot substitute for natural sightlines. Driving a performance coupe should make you feel bolder, not timid, afraid to hit something because you can't see a damn thing.

  6. They're getting smrtr.
  7. Those are sweet cars, and hella reliable. If there is one thing in my experience that I'd advise you to look for, it is corrosion around the edges of the aluminum hood (if it is so equipped, take a small magnet to check). Check the perimeter for corrosion bubbling, top side and underside. If it is clean, you are good to go. If not, it's only going to get worse, and should be taken care of ASAP.
  8. YOU NEVER SENT ME MY DAMN BALL JOINTS, "STEPHEN C". AND I KNOW YOUR REAL NAME... IT'S C 3 P O! AND LET ME TELL YOU ANOTHER THING, I ALWAYS HATED YOUR SISSY BRITISH ACCENT, TOO!
  9. My mom loves her moss green Cube. She's turning 66 today, and it is perfect for her. Nice step-in height, plenty of room, very comfy, flat seats, smooth ride. We also drove a Soul. It rode harder and the bucket seats were narrower and too contoured for her comfort. It also seemed louder inside. It took her about a year to decide which one to get. She loved those hamster commercials, but the more serene Cube ruled the day in the end. The "pebble in a pond" headliner is an appropriate crowning touch to the gently funky little "transportation device". Every time I visit her, she tells me of the positive comments she gets from the public regarding her car. And she keeps it spotless.
  10. Coolness, man!
  11. Holy crap, Mr Shift. Glad to hear you're alright. Let us know what you'll be driving next, when the dust settles. Damn Toyotas.

  13. Thanks, z and hyper, for putting the 2012 Malibu interior in proper context alongside her ancestors. The only thing that bugs me about most new vehicle interiors, though, and which you've also illustrated above is... the dash and integral console are right up in your face. Room to maneuver has been replaced with a cocoon-like experience. The new Taurus is especially guilty of this, among others.
  14. Thank you guys for filling in the holes of my memory. I did not remember that.

  16. Saul Williams - Black Stacey thanks for the tip, jacket! Janelle Monae - Tightrope
  17. OMG Continental never had a diesel (Mark VII did though, from BMW)... plus NO diesel has sparkplugs OMG
  18. Mr. Dart! Congratulations, sir.
  19. What? Hyundai does it.
  20. Yes, get it taken care of ASAP. It is an electrically conducive liquid for the auto dimming. Similar stuff is used in some exterior mirrors for the heating function. Had a white Escalade one time, the guy's mirror got hit and the stuff leaked, splattered the whole side of the truck. We had to PAINT IT because of that stuff.

  22. Cruze... exactly like the one Vipes posted, extra-cost three stage red/tan leather. At local dealer. I was there in '81 when the J-bodies replaced the H-bodies. Sticker shock dogged them from the start. IIRC, they were repackaged and repriced soon after. Cruze feels like deja vu in that regard. Also saw a ragged-out '68 Impala 4-door hardtop, white/black vinyl top... still on the road. And an Eagle Summit sedan. Damn, I thought they'd all returned to Mother Earth by now.
  23. Wow, a slew of flattering photographs at the link. This is a good looking Kia.
