  1. By doing what Dodgefan suggests, you'd only be throwing away some of your nest egg. Part out the Mazda and Jetta. Let that money trickle in and put it toward paying off another Mk III.

  3. I'd love to have one. I'd need an old S-10 4X4 for camping and trips to the home improvement store, but that's no biggie if I could have the joyful experience of tooling around in one of these gorgeous babies.

  5. Well, Special Editions of older models have been used to some success by other manufacturers. Hondo has their Accord and Civic SEs when each successive generation is in its last throes. But if you are talking about accessories available at the dealer level for installation at delivery, you have to look at the take rate. There has to be a decent take rate for the whole thing to be worthwhile for the manufacturer and the dealer to bother. Some ppl prefer something conservative and not as trendy... timeless might be the word I am grasping for here. I do agree the Cobalt should be available with a sub-palette of more vibrant colors. All of this is off-topic, however. I imagine the CTS-V Coupe will meet or beat the BMW M3 and Benz E-Class AMG coupes... with PUSHRODS, no less. Rock on, Chevy smallblock!

  8. XP, that is a most beautiful station wagon in your sig.
  9. Well I appreciate it. Very deeply.

  11. It's gonna be hot. I could never afford one. The Solstice Targa or Camaro 2LT have become my aspirational machines from GM.
  12. Hehehe, a "lil fella", eh?

  14. Oh puhleeze, how much does a Viper cost compared to a Solstice? It's a way bigger crime in the Viper's case to have what you call a "cheap" interior than it is for the Solstice.
  15. Cool
  16. When you're at the bar, I can see how that'd be quicker than walking to the men's room.
  17. I'm with you, Mr. Dart. I don't want to have to worry about reliability. I'd be wanting a new one, too. Mine was MSRP $17,500, I got it for $16,200+ with "Employee Pricing". $444 down to $413 doesn't sound bad to me, though, for a car that is 4 years newer. Good luck, sir.

    EYE CANDY

I would be nervous to drive something badass as that with all the stoopit drivers out there. Perhaps I'd just buy a small fleet of Datsun GT-Rs and hire drivers for them to surround me while I drive it up to about 2/3rds throttle. Who cares if one of those Datsuns gets hit, after all.
  19. Sixty8, how dare you use his own invention against him.

  21. Hey Edmunds dumbasses: the hard targa section is for winter. You leave it on for almost 6 months out of the year, depending on your address. Use the soft targa section for warm weather driving, which CAN be removed and stored inside the car. And who takes a Miata or a Cayman on a long vacation? The Miata and Cayman are toys, just like the Solstice. That is one quick, gorgeous Pontiac. Yes, it is a toy. It cannot be faulted for that.
  22. Why shouldn't we have a panel appointed to direct the auto industry's recovery? Have hope, man! The country that invented the automobile deserves nothing less!
  23. I agree with Teh, a Focus ZX3 or ZX5 would be good, too. And we know he's got Ford experience since he had an LTD II.
  24. cheebooga Bob might get it, because he's old, but you youngins might not
  25. How about a shortie Caravan? They can be had cheap, insurance should be low, and he'll have room for lots of boys. Plus, the back seat can come out for camping and such.
