Well they're in at least as good a shape as they were in the 80's. All they had that was overtly sporty was the V8 Firebird and the V6 Fiero. Nowadays, it's the Solstice, G6 GXP and the G8...

Hmmm... I dunno, there's something about it. It's spunky, and I like spunky. Interesting use of colour on the interior there. I wonder if you can get blue in place of red. I appreciate REAL taillights instead of the played-out Altezza look. Thanks for the pics, Otis!

I think the V8 is available with the Extreme package extended and crew, that's the only 2WD you can order with the 5.3, if I am not mistaken. Odd thing about the two GMT355s I've seen so far on the lots: A Canyon was identified on the sticker as a WT, with manual windows, etc., black handles&mirrors/chrome bumpers and a rubber floor... but it had "SLE" nameplate on the tailgate... and a Colorado, again marked as "WT", with chrome handles and body color bumpers, grille and mirror caps. I think somebody screwed up on the line with both of those trucks... weird.

Sunday is my day to lot-hop because yes, they are all closed.

Nearby dealer has about 8 '09 base model G6 sedans, 2.4L/4 speed autos, some with just side moldings, some with Preferred Pkg. They are not bad. I still think the G6 is a good looking car, and I love the Silver Green colour.

Went lot hopping today. All-GM car show at a nearby Chevy dealer... lots of SWEET old GM vehicles to gawk at. Two '80 Chevy A-bodies (Malibu Classic and Elkie) with the sportier, horizontal bar '81 grille installed in both. Listened to a '25 Chevy at idle... a mechanical sweetheart. Saw a new black Cobalt 1LT there, in black with the chrome package, a nice upgrade. Two '09 Focus coupes, at 2 different dealers, they've done a good job with a minor restyle, and the car is value-packed for the price, more features for less money than a Cobalt on the versions I looked at. '09 Mustang GT in Vapor Silver with Glass Roof The Patriot's new interior is much nicer than before, you won't cut your fingers on the dash anymore. And a SPUNKY '09 Fit Sport in light blue... with the usual "SOLD" tag on the dashboard, at "my" local dealership.

A rebadged Suzuki Swift in 3- and 5-door versions, based on British press reviews, would have been more in keeping with Pontiac's sporty image. I do like the Pontiac G3 (Firefly would have been more fun) styling cues better than the Chevy, but the car itself is NOT sporty. I saw a fully-loaded Aveo5 today at a dealership... it is MSRP over $18k! What a joke!

I have a For Sale sign in the passenger side window of my beloved Sierra ($16,800 negotiable, and it's on AutoTrader.com). I am definitely driving less due to the cumulative effects of higher gas prices (which rolled over into almost everything I buy on a regular basis) and our pay cut @ work.
