  1. PCS, be careful what you wish for... "Pontiac Must Die!" Seriously though... ouch.
  2. What small country do you live in again?
  3. It is a pissant compared to the Commodore.

    HHHHHR SS

Well, I went to three dealerships today... the first two didn't have theirs on the lot yet. Third dealership (in a very small town about 20 miles from my house, at which my dad and grandfather bought several cars going back 4 decades) had theirs up on a turntable... black with the black and red interior... but an autotragic transmission. I parked the Sierra, got out, and watched it spin for a few minutes. Very, very cool looking. The guy offered to take it down and I accepted. Part of the test drive route found me dodging "road apples" (horse manure from Amish). Even with the automatic, the little 2.0L Turbo pulls like a freight train, similar to the nice, torquey feel of my VW 1.8t. First thing I noticed when I got in on it was the tug of torque steer, yes, it is slight, but noticeable, especially after getting out of my RWD truck. It rides nice, even with the 18" rims and sport suspension. The brakes are strong. I did not care for the red interior trim, it seemed tacky. I'd like to see an Ebony/Brick combo in this vehicle. Visibility is fine, imo, that was a concern I had with the small windows, but no worries there. When we got back, they got on the computer and spec'd out the exact vehicle I'd want. Imperial Blue, with all-Ebony interior. $23,880 MSRP, which includes a Pioneer 7-speaker sound system, performance driver's seat, and limited-slip differential as options. They told me they could sell it to me for $23,120, not much off MSRP, imo. It would be a factory order, just like my last 3 vehicles. They complimented me on the Sierra, remarking about the Triple-Tred tires and the Flowmaster sound. They are supposed to "shop" my truck for offers and call me sometime Monday. It is a sweet little vehicle, fun, economical (21/28 with auto), yet utilitarian. I am thinking about it, I told the salesguy I'd make up my mind within 2 weeks.
  5. It is pitifully stupid and suicidal for GM to contemplate killing Pontiac.
  6. What about Pontiac? How will Pontiac feel?
  7. If Brazil is the new "homeroom" for Hummer, and if Brazil is now in charge of GM worldwide midsize, traditional trucks, does that mean the H2 will cease to exist, with the H3 taking over as the "big" Hummer?
  8. True, I have been having some pretty vivid dreams lately, but back to the thread, I am not necessarily talking about people (guys or girls) wanting to "hook up" with an old classmate, just looking to catch up, or reminisce.

    HHHHHR SS

Last night, I priced out an HHR SS with limited slip, upgraded speaker system, and performance driver's seat There are quite a few showing up at Chevy.com's "Find a Chevy" button at area dealerships. I think I'll be doing some driving this weekend, trying to find a few of these hot little babies to ogle.
  10. For those of us unfortunate enough to be staying home in Pennsylvania, please take some photos to post. Wish I were there!
  11. So, I guess you guys have heard of this website. It's a place for old classmates to gather to keep in touch. 2007 was my 25th year out of high school, having graduated in 1982. We didn't have a reunion party last year, but one is in the works for this year. Anyway, as a member of the site, you get a "guestbook", a place for people to sign in and say "hi". This morning I got an email, someone signed in a greeting. When I saw the name I was a bit surprised, it was from a kid who was heavy in earlier grades. By the time we graduated, he was a buff, goodlooking guy, a hit with the ladies. I didn't think he knew I existed at the time, but it was nice of him to remember me after all this time. Has anyone else ever run across an old classmate who greets you in a surprisingly warm way? Someone you were mere acquaintances with, but you somehow stuck in their head, and when you see them years later, they're like really happy to see you? Strange, but cool, it may leave you wondering what it was that went unsaid back in your school days.
  12. Looks like a tiny Vibe. They spent the money to give it a recognizable Pontiac face. If it came in a 3-door in NA, and if it had a more energetic, efficient engine, it would be more attractive. I imagine it's been a decent seller in Canada or they wouldn't have gone to the trouble.
  13. That's a pretty car. I'd like to see the Regal name return for the Epsilon II Buick, as well as a coupe. I also liked the GM Powertrain video.
  14. Nova is a nice name, but what about Monza?

  16. Oh yeah, I've had it back for a while now.
  17. About 5 FWD cars stopped at the bottom of a snow-covered hill, afraid or unable to make it up. Of course I squeezed by them in my REAR-WHEEL DRIVE GMC SIERRA WITH G80 LOCKING REAR END and 200 pounds of landscaping gravel in bags in the bed. Yeah, baybee!
  18. It's happened to me a few times.

  20. When Bob Lutz said GM doesn't want to "stimulate demand" for cars like a Zeta Impala, it really makes me think the car was canceled because they figured they would sell too many and put their CAFE status in jeopardy. Can anyone imagine a car company backing away from selling a vehicle they know will have a built-in customer base with police agencies, taxi companies, sport sedan enthusiasts AND the general public? Seems like death by their own sword to me. Any Epsilon Impala after the promise of one on Zeta will be a total waste of sheetmetal. The Malibu was made bigger to pick up FWD-only buyers, leaving room for 150,000 or so Zeta Impalas. With a diesel engine option and a 2-mode hybrid option, a Zeta Impala would have been right in there on efficiency goals, especially if GM also provides a compelling small car lineup to compliment the larger cars.
  21. I've driven a 2.7L Charger rental car, as well, and found it to be very agreeable. I would own a Charger SXT 3.5L sooner than an Impala, Grand Prix, or LaCrosse, any day, if I were a sedan guy.
  22. Love the fact it's RWD. Seems to be a very well done vehicle. The interior is really nice except for the mini-me "I-Drive" controller. The exterior is "safe" and derivative, but I don't care for the "ribcage" grille. I want to see the production coupe soon.
  23. Late-model Grand Prix GT with two rows of four stick-on portholes per fender, for a total of... 16!
  24. WHOA! I like that first black one the best, as it is understated yet hot, except I'd have to have a 2500HD Duramax. All of them are Redneck Cool, though.
  25. For those who have been asking: this is Lincoln's version of the Ford Flex/Fairlane. Along the lines of the Benz R-Class, it is not supposed to be a sedan.
