Well dave, you have to take the bumper cover off to get to the underside and the top side. Maybe you could post a pic or two if you get a chance? If the crack can be repaired... maybe you can take it to a vo-tech school, they might be able to fix it for free just for the experience... I am just thinking out loud.

I hate that, when ppl take off knowing they hit somebody. I hear it from customers once in a while, they end up having to use their own insurance to pay for damages to their car they didn't do. On the bumper thing, in my experience, a junkyard will want to sell you the entire bumper assembly for much more than $200... the fascia, absorber and impact bar, unless maybe you can go to one of those "pick your own" places. Nos has an idea with car-part.com, too. I've used them before at work on rare occasions. Also, depending on the severity of the crack, it may be repairable. Good luck getting her fixed, dave.

I am going to renew Onstar. I like the hands-free calling feature, the emergency response feature, and the turn-by-turn nav feature (although I've never used the nav, and I don't even know if my truck is capable of it.) I find the vehicle diagnostics email feature a bit superfluous and even intrusive... I mean, I still have dash warning lights and I hope I can tell if something isn't right. Does anyone know what the renewal rate is for Onstar these days?

I think the huge bumpers really messed up the looks of the '73-'74 Nova, especially after the nice looking '68-'72. The '75-'79 had better looking 5 mph bumpers, imo.
