  1. Very, very cool! And I didn't think that I could hate Roger Smith any more than I already did, but... What a truly despicable man!
  2. I think #1 will be in contention for quite some time. GM's 75 year record is in no danger of ever falling. The converse, of course, is also true. GM is unlikely to hold on to this status permanently ever again.
  3. I always said this would happen. Even without the quake, there was no way Toyota was holding onto the #1 spot.
  4. I'm not sure if the bumper is the same as a Blazer/Suburban bumper - but it is unusual to see on a pickup of this vintage. There will be no pulling of parts from Mothertruck.
  5. That dually is a whole lot of yellow! Too nice for a parts truck (but it would certainly work) I like the non-step rear bumper. I could find a home for the 454.... Hmmm...
  6. You guys already know mine pretty well. There is only one holy grail for me.
  7. Very interesting. As for the owner of PHS, I've spoken with him and he seemed personable enough - but he does have a reputation for a hot temper. He used to own one of the first Firehawks.
  8. Glad you enjoyed the story, 68. Sounds like you are dealing with a desperate, and inexperienced, seller. If you had been standing there, you might have gotten quite the deal. She obviously had no clue about how to sell her car.
  9. You've been busy, 68. Glad you decided to stop in and give us the update.
  10. I don't think we have - but we should.
  11. I'm with you on the cash thing, Roger. Still, if I had it, this is the one car I would spend that kind of money on. It's my automotive Holy Grail. I would however, be very happy with a much less "perfect" example than this one - because I'd drive it!
  12. Stripped of the wacky bodywork, it likely has some value. As for the interior, as long as it is stock and complete, I could make some use of it. I'm considering making a call about it.
  13. I thought Hot Wheels the moment I saw the first pic. Very, very, 70s.
  14. I'm thinking that it's worth about $500 to me as parts.
  15. I'd feel no guilt in ripping this thing apart for what I need, I'm just wondering if it could be had at a parts car price. I would like to smack whoever did this to a Vette in the first place, though.

  17. I'd sure give it a shot! Very cool writeup - thanks for posting it.
  18. Damn, that sounds like big fun to me! Haven't driven a recent 911 - but the old ones were an experience.
  19. Some new pics:
  20. They are. There is nothing hotter in the classic car market than iconic musclecars.
  21. Not what I'd look to Maserati for...
  22. I can understand that motivation - but it doesn't work for me. Has to be the real thing. If I'm going to build something, I'd rather it be something creative rather than a clone. It's either that, or a faithful restoration of what the car was when new.
  23. The good news is that most of that price is based on the condition and the documentation - even a slight downgrade in either will drop the price dramatically.
  24. Have a great one, my friend.
