  1. You can blame the B-J auctions for the pricing. An LS6 Chevelle in the same condition with documentation could esily bring twice the amount he's asking for the Camino. Weird part is that the Camino is far more rare. A Sprint SP would not even approach the price of the Camino - even though it is rarer still. In part, that's because GM never put an LS6 in the Sprint, but the fact that even today the Sprint is largely unknown is the main factor. As for replicas, "tributes", and clones, that just isn't my thing. I'd rather have a real SS with an LS5, a 402, or a 396, than a fake LS6.
  2. In the early 80s, one this good went for 40k. Something tells me I'll never get to own one now.
  3. Yeah, it probably is. Far more rare than an LS6 Chevelle, nut, bolt, and chalkmark level restoration with history and GM of Canada documentation. Only thing I don't like is the color. And the fact that I don't have the money.

  5. Like Z (and I've said this before), I really don't see much point in a V6 anymore. They offer little advantage over a 4 for power, and less over an 8 for economy. I'll stick with the V8.
  6. That about nails it. Meanwhile, any car I'd consider buying is being regulated out of existence. Bastards.
  7. Take your pick. I'm a big fan of gaseous fuels myself, but bio-fuels of many descriptions are also promising. Add-in electrics in the right applications, along with other measures beyond the fuels, and we will be making progress. A diversified energy supply is the best energy supply. Right now, we are doing squat to get there.
  8. Yup, back then they really were efficient cars. But we also had a much wider range of choice - that is being threatened terribly by the irrational clinging to CAFE by unimaginative politicians. And yet, we still refuse to apply resources to the real solution: new fuels. Change the fuels, not the cars.
  9. Bad concept from the start, terrible timing, unreasonable standards even if you accept the cockeyed notion that CAFE is a legitimate way to do this. Bad all around.
  10. A BMW Z8 out for a top-down cruise this morning - easily my favorite recent BMW. I wonder what they go for these days...
  11. That's one happy kid, but I think his helmet is too heavy. Link went straight to the video without the article for some reason. But, along these lines, I got a good long look at a black Zo6 this morning while waiting at a light. Right car, right color. I almost like it better than the ZR1.
  12. Can't deny that - lots of ugly stuff seems to sell well these days.
  13. Oh, I could enjoy a 4-banger... if it came wrapped in a Solstice coupe!
  14. Glad I'm not part of the majority. I hate crowds.
  15. Those did look pretty nice. I sure wish GM would do something to make the LS engines look as good as they perform.
  16. Nice improvement, but it is still ugly.
  17. As time goes by, I want one of these more and more.
  18. I noticed the Cheyenne in there too - but I wouldn't really miss that one. The wagon is just sort of blah, might have been ok in Europe.
  19. I still really like that blue - it makes the Grand Sport badges and the wheels really pop.
  20. I feel fairly certain that the clown in the S-class Benz at the Wawa this morning knows exactly what I think of him...
  21. Nice appearance mod. About the only thing I don't like concerning the LS engines is that they aren't much on looks, those covers help a bunch.
  22. The Supersonic Blues with the two-tone interior on that Cyber Grey car would be a fine combo.
  23. I like both of the other choices much better than the orange. While very much a color of the times, Inferno is just a bit too orange for me.
  24. I'm sorta lukewarm on that color.
