  1. Even better for the times: It's been a long time comin' It's goin' to be a Long Time Gone. And it appears to be a long, appears to be a long, appears to be a long time, yes, a long, long, long ,long time before the dawn. Turn, turn any corner. Hear, you must hear what the people say. You know there's something that's goin' on around here, the surely, surely, surely won't stand the light of day. And it appears to be a long, appears to be a long, appears to be a long time, yes, a long, long, long ,long time before the dawn. Speak out, you got to speak out against the madness, you got to speak your mind, if you dare. But don't no don't now try to get yourself elected If you do you had better cut your hair. `Cause it appears to be a long, appears to be a long, appears to be a long, Time, such a long long long long time before the dawn. It's been a long time comin' It's goin' to be a long time gone. But you know, The darkest hour is always Always just before the dawn. And it appears to be a long, appears to be a long, appears to be a long Time before the dawn. (You better Come In That Kitchen Because It's Got To Be Raining Outside)
  2. There are so many. Here's another: Daylight again Following me to bed I think about a hundred years ago How my Fathers bled I think I see a valley Covered with bones in blue All the brave soldiers that cannot get older Been asking after you Hear the past a' calling From Armageddon's side When everyone's talking and no one Is listening How can we decide Do we find the cost of freedom Buried in the ground Mother Earth will swallow you Lay your body down
  3. I've been quoting The Who lately, but I always resort to "New Horizons" by the Moody Blues in tough times. It resets my attitude.
  4. I remember riding in an early 70s Audi way back when and thinking "what a piece of crap!" They've come a long way since then.
  5. They seem to be popular as taxis in the Middle East and Africa. Countless news clips have formed this impression for me: accuracy unknown.
  6. I have no idea how to answer this.
  7. Well, if I'm looking twice...
  8. Just a couple of reactions to later posts than my first in this thread: - Churchill: Absolutely! I have learned a great deal more about him due to some recent and excellent C-span programming. A complex and diverse personality posessed of courage in the extreme. - FDR, Reagan, and Truman: Obama should take a page from each one's book - but just one page.
  9. Sort of like the way that Benz is a favorite of taxi drivers in third world countries...
  10. And you will make the same post over, and over, and over.....
  11. I keep looking at new Audis... with lust in my heart.
  12. Those pics are one of the coolest examples of your work, Mr Doane. I was blown away when you posted them, all I could think was " Damn! He is good." I'll remember you when you take up residence at Guantanamo. :AH-HA_wink:
  13. Let's not veer so far off-topic in this thread - too much is at stake.
  14. Call the press with that one, Mr. Griff !
  15. Thank you for being a voice of reason and logic during this mess, Griffon. It is much appreciated.
  16. You and me both!
  17. I have come to a decision of sorts. I'm going to get both the Mothertruck and the Jag cleaned-up and running and list them on ebay. If the truck doesn't sell after 1 listing, I'll dive into it.
  18. November is a gloomy, grey month around here - this year is no exception. Haven't seen the sun lately. I actually prefer the clear, cold and bright of January to this miserable stuff.
  19. I've done my share: 2001 2500 HD 2002 Formula Firehawk 2004 GTO 2005 2500 HD Duramax and planning: 2010 or 2011 G8 ST
  20. Sad to say that all of those vehicles are gone now.
  21. No, it's not mine. I took my trailer and helped a friend pick up a '69 GMC 2WD shortbed fleetside today. Pretty cool little truck and a fairly solid project.
  22. Thanks for posting that poll, Griffon! This is a critical issue everyone, please push this wherever you can.
  23. I'd raise a couple of points here: - The best moves that current management has made have yet to take effect, and when they do it will make an enormous difference. - Whatever mistakes they have made, they don't even begin to rise to the level of the misconduct and out right hubris of the AIGs of the world who get a blank check. Seems a bit unjust to me. - The calls for the current management's removal smack of the need for vengeance rather than the needs of the company. - Most importantly, it is critical that these loans be secured immediately to prevent permanent damage to the entire economy on the scale of Depression. I have no particular allegiance to Wagoner or the current board, but these issues distract from the overwhelming need to take action now - and so should be tabled for the moment.
  24. ...and has been for a very long time.
