  1. I don't mind the cold and the snow, but the damned wind and unending grey is a bit much.
  2. Make it stop!
  3. It is precisely the surrender mentality of fools like this that will give us an economy "like Zimbabwe".
  4. What an absolute jackass!
  5. Trust me Cort, just drive one. Oh, I don't much care for leather either - but in the GTO it was fine and nicely grained. It's not that over-smooth cheap crap that so many leather seats are made from. Those can be very uncomfortable.
  6. I reject your assessment of both the product and planning done by GM during the current management's tenure. You have ignored completely the fact that they have been moving steadily, and decisively toward a much more competitive position. That said, I do not reject the need for accountability. Remember that we are talking about loans, not grants here. Also, isn't it a bit early to be sending champaigne to Mullaly? Now is not the time to fiddle while Rome burns, the simple uncertainty of the situation demands immedite action. Perhaps the best route to follow would be to grant enough of a loan to stabilize the industry while a more exhaustive analysis takes place. After all of the hand-wringing and arguing is worked out, the balance of the loan package could be implemented. Otherwise, there may be no way to stop this avalanche of disaster in our economic present and permanent damage to its future. The gripes voiced by the opponents of making these loans ignore the fact that most of their criticisms are already being addressed by the big 3! And the calls for management heads on chopping blocks stem from a desire for blood rather than any logical, or even informed assessment of their performance.
  7. +1 I hate this entire segment.
  8. It is critical that the numbnuts resisting loans to the industry be made to understand this.
  9. That would be one way to keep GME out of GMNA's plans, not the way I'd like to see it happen though.
  10. Why did I click that link?
  11. Interesting. Around here they have disappeared from the lots as fast as they arrive. I've seen quite a few decked-out for businesses as well as private owners. They make a great canvas for the creative.
  12. Thanks Ocn, what would make me feel better right now is some work. Things are rough.
  13. Yup! Very strange weather here today.
  14. Ah, one of the few FWDs I have a weak spot for.
  15. This is great news! I'm very glad to hear about this car again.
  16. True, I suppose, but you can't drive a memory.
  17. A reality I've been expecting...
  18. A bit awkward in proportions, but interesting. It uses a great deal of actual El Camino panels (78-87 vintage).
  19. I know I've hijacked this one, but I have to post one more. I want to leave things on a positive note. Years ago my heart was set to live on And I've been tryin hard against unbelievable odds Gets so hard at times like now to hold on Guns they wait to be stuck by And at my side is God Ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round People round you tell you that they know The places they have been, and it's easy to go They'll zip you up and dress you down, and stand you in their role You know you don't have to You can just say no And there ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round I've been built up and trusted Broke down and busted They'll get theirs and we'll get ours if you can just Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on Years ago my heart was set to live on And I've been tryin hard against unbelievable odds Gets so hard at times like now to hold on Gonna fall if I don't fight it And at my side is God Ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round Ain't no one goin to turn me round
  20. We could have those things again - if we demand them.
  21. Or... Red and white, blue suede shoes, I'm Uncle Sam, how do you do? Gimme five, I'm still alive, ain't no luck, I learned to duck. Check my pulse, it don't change. Stay seventy-two come shine or rain. Wave the flag, pop the bag, rock the boat, skin the goat. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. Summertime done, come and gone, my, oh, my. I'm Uncle Sam, that's who I am; Been hidin' out in a rock and roll band. Shake the hand that shook the hand of P.T. Barnum and Charlie Chan. Shine your shoes, light your fuse. Can you use them ol' U.S. Blues? I'll drink your health, share your wealth, run your life, steal your wife. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. Summertime done, come and gone, my, oh, my. Back to back chicken shack. Son of a gun, better change your act. We're all confused, what's to lose? You can call this song, the United States Blues. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. Summertime done, come and gone, my, oh, my.
  22. :rotflmao: Thanks for the light moment, Longtooth.
  23. Great post!
