  1. Much longer than most people think, and this isn't the oldest example!
  2. Yes. It is in the Heritage Collection and Fly got a fuzzy pic of it when he was there.
  3. Here ya go: By CaminoLS6
  4. I wonder if we could do a group purchase... Sure would like to use that driveline in Project Camino.
  5. Right around this time Pontiac built a prototype version based on the Lemans, something tells me that the Royal Knight package may have been originally envisioned for that car.
  6. The SS could have either the 305 or the 350 back then and a manual was still available until the '82 model year. Yes GMC had their version as well: The Caballero Diablo.
  7. Sounds like you really want a Buick, Reg.
  8. Did you guys know that technically, the Royal Knight is an SS?
  9. Very,very, rare these days.
  10. True. A fourth gen F-bod without a stick is just sad.
  11. That Stude is one fine looking vehicle.
  12. Both cars are local barn finds.
  13. Depends on the layout. I see each part as maybe a page of the catalog with an appropriate pic. Done that way, it wouldn't be too wordy.
  14. I could fit 200 LS3s in the barn...
  15. Agreed on the thread title change - let's not have any more like that, it detracts from the site.
  16. Maybe a hair too specific? The lead-in to the artist angle seems forced, not smoothly introduced. Minor quibbles, but that's what struck me at first read.
  17. GRRRRRR!
  18. None that fit the bill yet.
  19. Someone told the sheep that it is time to panic, I guess.
  20. I've been scoping out some Buicks, but haven't found any low-mile examples yet.
  21. 1SC is just the lowest form of trim that could be ordered - not a special edition or package. Some of his claims are extremely doubtful, especially the weight claim as other cars ordered in a similar fashion would weigh close to the same. I would bet that most of the weight savings he claims assumes the larger wheels and tires that came on the SS, WS6, and Firehawk cars. A stripper Firebird Formula likely could make the same claims Still, an interesting car in perfect condition. EDIT: I have personally witnessed many, many, stock '02 Firehawks that ran 12.9s or better in the quarter mile. So that claim is nothing special, the late f-cars had amazing performance. In fact, GM's own test drivers had them out-performing the Vettes of the day.
  22. I can deal with a carb, but my helper isn't really a car guy - yet. :AH-HA_wink: For his situation, an injected car would be a better idea.
  23. Not in the budget at the moment, but who knows? BTW: I found a '77 that is it's twin as well. :AH-HA_wink:
  24. 4th gen F-body for the win! :AH-HA_wink: Seriously. They get great mileage. I wonder what sort of mileage the wagon will get when it's done? Might surprise a few folks around here. Meanwhile. I suffer with the cost of diesel (paid 4.99 9/10ths today) as I am driving the Silverado exclusively now. Found a viable answer recently: I super low-mile '76 Chevelle sedan with a 250 6cyl. and three on the tree! The thing even has a factory radio delete - total stripper!
  25. Exactly the sort of car we are hunting. I am trying to keep him away from cars with carbs though.
