  1. At some point in the 70s, they started putting the option codes on a label on the inside of the glovebox door. Unfortunately, they tended to peel off in time - but it would be the first place I would look for the codes.
  2. The Aztek is completely asexual, it reproduces by division.
  3. Yes, the slide - in type. I think every one of these I've seen was also a "Camper Special".
  4. Yes, the extra long one was known as a Longhorn.
  5. I believe they were produced every year of that bodystyle. For some reason, they were popular with government fleets, I remember seeing them often with Conrail or Amtrak colors and ID. I know some at least had a steel floor in the bed, and I suspect that the wooden floor was phased out at some point during the bodystyle run. I've always thought that these were cool and gave that bodystyle a bit more visual oomph than the fleetsides had.
  6. Very interesting stuff Roger, thanks for that.
  7. I hate it when people do polls like that.
  8. The wording of Autoweek's poll is asinine.
  9. A similar poll on the G8 board is running about 65% in the ST's favor.
  10. So much to say, so little time. So I'll just say that if Pontiac had done this car more like those chops, the GXP Street Edition would have made me hate the G6 less instead of more. And... Dark Phoenix, I believe that you are a genuine Pontiac fan and that your heart is in the right place. However, many of the folks here do have something to teach you if you are willing. Folks like Hyper (and many others here) actually know some of the people at GM that make the cars happen. Others here work for GM, work in the industry or the automotive press, or have made a study of the market in general and GM in particular. We disagree... alot. However when it comes to factual information, it really doesn't get much better than the C&G crowd. All I'm saying is get to know us a bit and you'll understand why I'm saying this.
  11. Congrats Ted! So it is going to be a "project"? What have you got in mind? I like projects. :AH-HA_wink:

    The listing has been removed.
  13. OK, let me see what we can do. I'm guessing that you don't know if it was cashed?
  14. Z! You sat in it! I am insanely jealous!
  15. My 2002 Firehawk was a Formula 1LE car (and the last Firehawk ever built) The '98 Firehawk was a T/A prototype (1 of 6)
  16. Haha, note when I posted my last post! Completely random, but still cool.
  17. I really don't use I/M much, and I am Camino LS5 when I do (it was a typo). But, It works as that is what was in my '70 Camino. An LS6 Camino is my automotive Holy Grail. I would choose one above all others.
  18. A belated HBD, Northie! Sorry I wasn't online yesterday.
  19. Your brother is a man of refined tastes. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. It's under the hat, and not anywhere near as big these days. Sorry guys, no burnout pics. Never took any, and now I'm regretting that.
  21. Thanks. I can't quite manage that sort of hair anymore, but I'm glad to say I haven't gone cue ball yet. About the feet, you know what they say..
  22. Correct,Cort. And the rest of you guys: Damn! ...just Damn! You sure did run with this one.
  23. For me this question misses the point, I would just choose between a new car with a V8 and an old car with a V8. I have no interest in V6s and I4s. It's all pointless talk anyway, as V8s can be brought into compliance with regulations just by virtue of their smaller production numbers and some decent tech. also, I f we all get off of our collective asses and bring alternative fuels to mass market, why give up anything? And there is the crux of my argument with this, I'm not big on surrender. Why the hell should we dumb down the cars and surrender to this BS when alternatives can make it unnecessary? No surrender. No compromise.
  24. Wow! These old pic threads are more fun than I thought they'd be! I'm about two hours late for Easter dinner! I shudder to think what I'll find when I get home.
