    C3, I think. It is a Vette thing. I suspect they found it to be weight saving, and likely works well with their approach to IRS. There may be other reasons - it is a long standing hallmark of the Vette strategy. I remember reading about it years ago, but the specifics have faded.

    The H3 is the only Hummer that I don't think is rediculous. So far.

    The trouble with these systems is almost always electrical. I would trace the wiring and look for a short (checking the fuses is a good idea as well). I had this trouble with a 1990 Silverado - it turned out to be a short in a wire under the carpet.
