  1. Fly's post when he locked it pretty much explains the reasoning.
  2. Nice of you to let us know,Lakefire. Why don't you PM Fly about it? Might be a good idea for us to take it over.
  3. Forgive my ignorance (never having had them myself), but are they the same critters as head lice? I had head lice as a kid, it went through my school like wildfire, and those things were creepy. Nasty little buggers that looked like walking dandruff. I had to do the tar shampoo and fine tooth comb thing-nasty.
  4. Listen here, Crab boy... J/K
  5. A few initial impressions: - The GMC wins in the looks department this time, it is a much cleaner design. That's only fair as the Tahoe looks much nicer than the Yukon. I have high hopes that the bulging fender look will work better on the HD models. - These trucks are going to be class leaders in so many categories that they almost have to be a homerun for GM. - The LTZ dash looks so out of place in the trucks, I much prefer the LT dash. Let's leave the woodgrain to Buick and Caddy. - The storage and bedrail systems are way overdue and most welcome. -Hopefully, GM will eliminate the Chevy's chrome bumper on all models as it really looks like crap. Grafting the Avalanche nose onto these trucks would improve the look tremendously. - For me, only an HD truck works in most situations and I would purchase an Avalanche before a half ton Silverado. However, that is the strength of this platform, it can be so many things depending on the customer's needs and wants. EDIT: The huge, ugly chrome grille really hurts the Chevy's look. It should join the chrome bumper in oblivion.
  6. good deal,Z.
  7. OK, the hacker site is darkwars.org and their hosting is by implux.net Can't we get the host to shut down that site?
  8. Here's the email address to send the source IP info to along with any other facts we can come-up with: [email protected] They want to know the nature of the abuse and any info. we can offer. This is beyond my knowledge so anyone that gets it,please complain loudly.
  9. In fact, any tricks you guys know to make this piece of crap pay are fine by me.
  10. I'm all for anything that punishes this guy, he's a complete waste of oxygen.
  11. Umm... too much information,NOS.
  12. Read about this over at Chirpthird, this dealer is pure scum. Chevy should come down hard on him for giving them a black eye.
  13. I'm going to hibernate now, wake me up when it's AUTUMN! I need to move North.
  14. At first blush, these new trucks impress in many ways. I will reserve further judgement until it all sinks in a bit more. This line is so complex in all of the details and options that a true assesment will take me days to form. I will say this the Chevy and the GMC are more differentiated than they have ever been before. Disagree? Take a closer look. This alone tells me that GM really does "Get it". I will venture a guess that I have owned more GM trucks of more generations than most, if not all, C&G members so I will try to respond more fully to these new trucks later this week.

    Hello?

Welcome Farkas, glad to have you aboard. Don't fret about the car, my first was a tired old Dodge wagon.
  16. Yup, even you. I really have nothing against you and find you to be respectful even amidst passionate disagreements. I have no problem with you. 8)
  17. Same miserable weather here with more of the same to come. Man, I hate summer even more than I hate Toyota. Come on September!
  18. Yeah, I remember, I remember.
  19. Having had at least one of each, I can't really choose although certain model years do stand out in each gen. Back to the wall and my life threatened, I'd probably say '72 if I had to pick only one.
  20. Too bad you won't be coming through Southeastern PA.
  21. The economic war is real, and Japanese practices are the worst in that they don't play by any rules the rest of the world adheres to. However, we are to blame for handing our markets to them on a silver platter while theirs remain closed to us and the rest of the world. Other markets are protected with unfair barriers, that much is true, but we can own companies in those markets and can compete. In Japan, we are shut out as is the rest of the world. I understand why Japan is such a cramped place - I just hate cramped places. Therefore, I have no desire to ever visit. And no, I don't blame them for video games. It's just that that sort of technology is part and parcel of their current culture and does not appeal to me. As for the ant colony thing- it is a cultural tradition in Japan to put the the group above the individual. This is a philosphy I entirely reject and I hate to see it making inroads here.

    ....

Hopefully they include heavier sheetmetal for the bed, my '05 is way too thin and easy to dent -especially the bedrails.
  23. It all depends on what you consider to be harm. Besides, I said dislike, not hate. Much of Japanese culture repels me. But I'm one of those people that hates crowds, small spaces, video games, and ant colony mentalities. I'm an individualist which is anathema to Japan's cultural thinking. We might as well be from two different worlds. I do resent how so many here are drooling over everything that comes out of Japan, including the culture and mentality. I simply couldn't live there and I don't want that standard to ever hold sway here. Their business practices are abhorrent and often illegal, but I can look past that as long as they keep their influence here within reasonable limits. To each their own, but don't force it on me.
  24. I'd rather push a whole flock of Camrys over it though. :AH-HA_wink:
  25. That could be a fun day!
