I'm a dummy, help me fix my screen resolution
Ok, so my new computer has a reccomended screen setting of 1680 x 1050 pixels, and most stuff look fine, except that some stuff (pics, smilies) appear slightly pixelated. I probably have to change the Internet settings somewhere, but if someone would tell me instead of me wasting my time looking, then I'd appreciate it.

I made some colors of the Sierra: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=10727

Ohh, colors, good idea! I'll do some after dinner if no one beats me to the punch.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra
Well, I think that pretty much backs up what I said, as it's spoken from a truck buyer himself. Truck buyers want something useful and something that's not going to matter if it gets a little beat-up.

'GM's New Brand Strategy: Chevy Uber Alles'
He's right that the brands as they are are way out of whack, but he's not right about how to position them in the marketplace. Chevy - As-is. Pontiac: Performance only. Buick: Luxury, but with less flash than a Cadillac and a half-step down, also less performance. Saturn: What it's going to be, an American Opel. Targets those who would never consider a Chevy, don't want something too sporty, and don't want something as expensive or luxurious as a Buick or Cadillac. Basically the import buyers. GMC: Targets those who want something slightly nicer than a Chevy truck. Pretty much as-is. Saab: European luxury, but personally I would probably cut them. Cadillac: All-out luxury and performance. Hummer: As-is.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra
It's a work truck. People who buy work trucks don't care what it looks like, if they did, GM wouldn't sell 900,000 pickups a year with a similar interior to the new work truck interior. They want something ergonomic and simply, and this suits them perfectly. It's going to be used like a truck most of the time, not as a personal vehicle. The inside's going to be battered and bruised within 6 months of normal use anyways. If you want something that looks better, then the LTZ should suit anyone's needs just fine. Also, I don't see how the "work truck" version of the F-150 (and what most F-150 interiors actually look like, not the XLT, FX4, and Lariet) is any better. It's nothing that blows your socks off and I think it would suit anyone who's going to use a pickup as a pickup very well too. Both are simply, ergonomic, and it won't be a tragedy if they get beat up:

2007 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra
I think GM has a huge hit on their hands. Both look pretty good on the outside (the Sierra's better), the work truck interior suits everyone who's going to use it as a truck perfectly, the premium interior takes care of anyone who wants something nicer, the power (other than the V6) is great, tons of features (I think the power rear windows will be a huge hit), and the lockable storage bed. The F-150 better watch out, I think.

2007 GMC Sierra
It looks like Autoweek let the cat out of the bag a little early, no? You can get NAV in the "Work Truck" interior? Wow, impressive. Both interiors look very good, though the one that's just from the Tahoe is my preference. It looks like MT was wrong with the power numbers, the 6.0L has 367HP. I'd say at this point I like the Sierra better, but the Silverado definetly looks more macho and may please truck buyers more.

I was thinking the plug was for a engine block heater?

Look at the opposite rear window in this pic, I think it has the answer: http://news.windingroad.com/wp-content/upl.../Impala%203.jpg

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit: A GM Tag Line?
We have been receiving news about the new Cadillac Tag Line, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit." However, I just noticed that the ad on the back cover of last month's C&D is for the Silverado, and it says, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Horsepower." If this tag line possibly for all of GM?

2008 Malibu spied!
Yep, that's the Malibu, and it looks great! You can tell it's the Malibu because we've already seen an illustration of the Malibu's interior, and what little you can see of the interior matches the illustration. It seems GM may have a huge hit on their hands with this one!

2 miles from my house- used car
They probably got it at an auction or something, that's how we got the Z06.

New Tag Line
http://autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?...041/PROMOBLOG01 I think that sort of clears up the message, and I see where they're going now. Other than the Escalade, apparantly Cadillac is looked at as a grandpa's car still for the most part, and the younger people with money don't consider it unless they want an Escalade. The new ads show relatively young people that at least look like they're in the upper class and puts them together with Cadillac. From the article: I think that pretty much sums up why they look like they're from a clothing company. It shows young people who look like they have money and they place them in Cadillacs, which conveys the message to younger rich people that it's okay to drive a Cadillac instead of that BMW or MB.

We got a Z06 at work
Today I got to start it up and rev it up to 4500rpm. It was LOUD as hell (and the GTO isn't exactly quiet) to my ears and it still had another 2500rpm before redline!

2001 Olds Aurora V6
With gas prices, I'd go with the V6, but who am I to say that considering what I drive.

We got a Z06 at work
So yesterday they went to the auction in Indianapolis, and today a black Z06 is sitting there getting ready for the mechanics to make sure everything's working okay and for one of us to clean up. Well, the mechanics did their stuff today and I think tomorrow we will probably be cleaning it up. I'm hoping they let me just drive it around in the parking lot or something, it'd be a cool experience. If I could have a Z06, it'd definetly be a black one. It looked so badass it wasn't even funny. Seriously, I think it looks more badass than a Viper. All Corvettes are red, but maybe all Z06's are black :AH-HA_wink:

Spied: 2008 Nissan Armada
The exterior is still ugly, but at least the interior looks good now, if not as good as the T900s.

'08 CTS - What about under the hood?
But it's supercharged. A 5.4L supercharged Northstar would put out well over 493HP considering the 4.4L makes 469HP. I don't think it really matters though. GM just needs to update the Northstar to keep it fresh.

8 mfgrs to have world debuts at 07 LA show
I actually think the CTS will debut in LA. The SRX and XLR both debuted there I believe, and GM seems to have a thing for debuting Cadillacs in California (Escalade was too).

Aura hits the pages of Motor Trend
Maybe that means it will be up in August (since that's when the magazines are supposed to hit the shelves, I think), but it seems that MT has shipped out the September issues a bit early, and people already have them. As for the Aura, I think it looks really good, and an all-black interior with paluminum trim should actually look pretty good, I think.

Alright, kiddies, time to get back to discussing the trucks

New rig
You should put about $750 worth of mods in it and make tons of power and get better mileage, too. A computer chip, better intake, and free-flowing exhuast should have you up to about 17MPG in the city.

My New Wheels
Ok, that's what I thought. It looks like it's been raised up on jacks so there's no weight on the wheels, but since there's so much weight out of it, I guess it gives a similar effect.
