2007 G6 Sedan Pics
Are you saying the wheels are similar, or what? We have 2007 Cobalts, Malibus, Silverados and CTSs, so there are 2007s on dealer lots.

June 2006 Sales: General Motors Corp.
I think GM moved a lot of cars in the last couple days of June, we sure did. And as Ven posted, sales vs. 2004 were up a good margin. It's interesting that the Aveo, Impala, and HHR all had good months because we were selling a ton of each, it will be interesting to see if what the dealership I work at sells in July is up everywhere or not. The G6 convert must be helping sales a lot, and for some reason the GTO is now starting to sell pretty well. Maybe the Solstice is drawing buyers in? The Escalade line is kicking tail, and the SRX seems to have finally gained a tiny bit of momentum? The Colorado/Canyon suck.

2008 CTS Wishlist
I don't think anyone has said this yet: reclining rear seats. Also, a skylight for rear seat passengers when a sunroof is ordered would be cool.

Outlook Specs and Colors
I think a power passenger seat would be optional, our old van had a power passenger seat. I agree the colors blow. I'm wondering if dual-zone entertainment means for both the second and third rows? However, if you get the skylight it seems like there might be a problem with putting NAV on the cieling. The rest of the spec sheet seems pretty good. Voice-activated NAV is nice.

"Right-Way" Rick
Remember that the first true Lutz products just started rolling out not long ago. The Lucerne, while reworked by Lutz, is not 100% Lutz. Products that are 100% Lutz are: Solstice, Sky, Aura, T900s, Lambdas, new CTS. I may be missing a couple, but that's most of them.

"Right-Way" Rick
Delorenzo is completely correct in that while it's taking some time, Wagoner seems to be doing it the right way. Sure, GM is still in trouble, but not nearly as much trouble as it was 18 months ago. No one is going to come into GM and magically turn the whole corporation around at the snap of their fingers. Sure, Ghosn turned Nissan around in a short time, but Nissan is no where near as big as GM. I'd say GM is probably 4 times bigger than Nissan, so Wagoner should get more time to turn it around. Buickman: You have plenty of your own threads to rant about Wagoner's "wrong doings," do not hijack this thread and make it into another long rant. If you want to contribute, you must do so rationally like everyone else. If you do intend to hijack this thread, don't be disappointed when you find that your posts have been removed.

Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
I'm pretty sure the 3.6 only needs 87 too, but the Northstar reccommends 91.

So which auto partner would be best for GM?
BMW already agreed to work on the two-mode full hybrid system for GM, and who would have thought that Mercedes would have wanted to merge with Chrysler? BMW would get GM's new 6-speeds in return, and if they shared componets with Cadillac it would make both brands cheaper to build but they would still be able to command a premium. GM actually was seriously considering buying BMW once when Cadillac wasn't doing so well, I believe.

2008 Torrent GTP?
Both the Torrent and Equinox get the 3.6L for the 2008MY as the GT and SS. I don't know why GM doesn't just make it standard; the VUE V6 has 250HP standard, so why shouldn't they?

So which auto partner would be best for GM?
The last thing GM needs to do is aquire more brands. Personally, I think GM would be best off being by themselves, but if they have to have a partnership, I'd say BMW fits the bill relatively well -- Cadillac and BMW could share platforms and costs and really create the best automobiles in the business, Mini would give GM a good base for future small cars, and we could see a cheap 3er for Pontiac.

Favorite Non-GM Brand
I don't really know. There aren't many cars from any of those manufacturers that I would buy a car from, and the same goes for GM. They all make some good cars, but I wouldn't buy say a Camry or Accord, but that doesn't meant they aren't good cars; I just wouldn't buy them. So, I guess I'll list what I'd consider buying from each and then the most is my favorite? F/M/L: GT M/V/Jag: RX-8, XK, XJ. C/D/J: Umm... Viper N/I: G35 Coupe, M35/45 T/L: GS430 H/A: S2k, TL Mitsu: EVO VW/Audi: RS4, A8 H/K: Umm, none? BMW/Mini: Mini Cooper S, M5, M3, 6er Mercedes: CLS, SL, SLK You forgot Subaru. So I guess it's BMW/Mini.

If you're wondering why I've been so scarce lately
It's no problem. I haven't been around much lately with my job either. Everyone else can pick up the slack with posting the news.

0% for 72 seems to be working here
I don't know how it's doing anywhere else, but today we probably sold more cars than all of the other days I've worked there combined. It was nuts. We were constantly getting something for delivery, and they were working on more sales when 5PM rolled around too (which is when I leave).

The Final Act
So I think this thread's pretty much useless now, right? Time to lock 'er up.

Why the new Camaro will fail
Yep, full coverage.
-
looks like new car time
GMbuypower says that there are only the 0 for 72 offers, and Autonews does not have any hidden dealer incentives listed in their data center, so I guess there aren't any. You can build an '06 G6 GTP on Edmunds with whatever options you want, and it will tell you the invoice price. Base, the markup is only about $1300, but as you add options it goes up. On a loaded one the markup is about $2400. Link: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/pontiac/g6...s.html?action=1

New Honda CR-V Uncovered
The front would actually look pretty good if it didn't have a "piece missing." The rest is just blah. How did they think that the windowline fit the rest of the vehicle? It's like a jelly bean, but the rest isn't that curvy.

GM's Automatic Start Feature
Yep, as Satty said, you have to first press the lock button (even if the car is already locked) and then hold the start button. I think it turns off after 15 mins, but if you want to turn it off before they you push the button again.

Sweet CTS Sport I detailed at work
Congrats OC! I think black is probably the best color. Either black or dark blue has always been my favorite color on the CTS.

Production Enclave on Display?
Interesting. Is the Buick Championship on TV? We might be able to see it on there.

Bought a 2006 Malibu MAXX SS
Looks great! Congrats!

2007 Cobalt changes
NOS: About the discounts... yes, there usually are pretty big discounts on the outgoing models, but I wouldn't expect much of an increase with the SS SC. They sell every one they can make so they have little incentive to give you anything off the price.

More realworld photos of the 2007 SRX interior.
Cadillacfan: Maybe it has push-button start and the key is only used when the battery in the fob dies to open the doors.

The Final Act
Have you seen any of the future product that GM is going to be coming out with? Have you seen the plans? I would sit back and see what happens rather than criticize Rick all the time. Sure, it took a while, but no one was going to turn GM around in less than 2 years.

Dumb Laws
Illinois: No one may stand on the sidewalk on the 500 block of Illinois Ave. One may not pee in his neighbor's mouth. It is forbidden to fish while sitting on a giraffe's neck. It is legal to protest naked in front of city hall as long as you are under seventeen years of age and have legal permits. Humming on public streets is prohibited on Sundays. Bowling is forbidden. It is unlawful to change clothes in an automobile with the curtains drawn, except in case of fire. No person may keep a smelly dog. No bicyclist may practice "fancy riding" on any city street. There is a $1,000 dollar fine for beating rats with baseball bats A rooster must step back three hundred feet from any residence if he wishes to crow. Bees are not allowed to fly over the village or through any of Kriland's streets. Ice skating at the Riverside pond during the months of June and August is prohibited. Basketball hoops may not be instaled on a driveway.
