  1. The Insight was also a hybrid and cost 3 times as much new. This is a trike in the eyes of the law (except Connecticut's) but for all practical purposes it is a car. It's got better amenities than my Sunfire. It would put a huge dent in the cost of my 48-mile work commute. An economical car should be about saving money, which is the opposite of what you do when you by a current hybrid. This is the high-MPG car for the rest of us. I'm excited for it.
  2. Several years ago Dartz was going to offer one of their models with the option of being upholstered in leather made from whale foreskin, until the World Wildlife Fund became outraged over it.
  3. Glad to see your baby back to good, Dodgefan!
  4. I prefer the looks of that one with the CTS... other than that, seems to tick most of my boxes. It'll be on my list of consideration when I'm finally ready for a new car.
  5. Speaking of Dodge pickups, I saw a red early-80s Ram 50, a model I was not familiar with.
  6. It looks like the engine should be mounted vertically in the engine bay
  7. That is quite an interesting car indeed. I don't much care for the exterior looks, but that interior looks understatedly sumptuous and it has a good story behind it, as well as the pride of being all-American.
  8. Wow, never heard of this car. The finished product looks really nice, but I'm definitely not in the market for an $11,000 project car. What was the other car?
  9. I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again (an old British radio comedy sketch show)
  10. Red '73 Mustang Mach 1 Dusty gray early '50s Cadillac sedan Blue C7 Corvette Stingray
  11. Gleaming red Alfa-Romeo Giulietta Spider Yellow '72 Mustang Mach 1 What looked like a cream-colored MG TD, but something seemed at bit off about it Red Z3 roadster with the hardtop fitted
  12. At one point on my way home today I was literally surrounded by Mopars. 3 T&Cs, 2 200s, a 300, a Charger, a Dakota, and an old Voyager. Later I saw a tan mid-70s Vette at a local root beer drive-in, and a gold Fiero GT at a gas station.
  13. '71 Dodge Polara, light blue with black vinyl roof.
  14. This is not really a spot. But I had a dream last night about a car. It was a kit-built, low, wedge-shaped, 2+2 shooting brake with metallic purple paint, parked in a yard in my neighborhood. I saw it and thought about posting about it here. Then I "borrowed" it and took it for a joyride with some friends, and ended up getting pulled over by the cops. Just thought I'd share.
  15. I quite like that Viking 45 concept. Good looking and 118 MPG? Fits my dream daily driver parameters. The program has a very interesting history. I don't know much at all about engines, but while I suspect we could have had present-day fuel economy ten to twenty years ago, the companies didn't have nearly the same incentive to make them back then as they do nowadays after the War for Oil, the Great Recession, and new CAFE requirements, and all the extra equipment cars carry now.
  16. '65 Impala sedan, light blue with white vinyl roof '73 or 4 Cutlass Supreme coupe, brown with tan roof
