    cliffside!!!

Perhaps they were weakened ten years ago during the hot decade and now that new ice was building up on a damaged foundation, it collapsed. I'm just speculating. Well, we don't have to police anyone... but we are wealthy enough (and our government is pissing away enough of our tax dollars) that we can give undeveloped countries incentives to not pollute their lands and surrounding oceans with some of the worse toxins ever. I think OCN is being sarcastic. However, there ARE people who seemingly would be happy if the entire human race threw out everything, donned lioncloths and wandered back into the forests and jungles.

    cliffside!!!

So... your suggesting we can stop volcanos? Or regulate the sun? The climate is going to change... perhaps our released greenhouse gases have staved off a disasterous ice age? We don't know. Hey, instead of worrying about the BS global warming, why don't we look back to the cleaning up the pacific ocean trash dump or fixing up the toxic disasters on the DEP superfund list... or perhaps try to stop the pollution attrocities being done in third world nations as we outsource our trash reclaimation to places with lax environmental law?
  3. The trouble is that the Mad Max film has made decent Falcon XBs very hard to find. Nothing wrong with LHD... in most states, IIRC, its not an issue, as long as you drive on the proper side of the road.
  4. I really didn't notice alot of new car smell in the last few years... even sitting in the new Camaros recently. Of course, I seem to have something odd about my sense of smell... most days it can be very difficult to smell pleasant things. I can pick up a unpleasant odor a mile away... but most days even strong pleasant odors are just, well, missing. So, I suppose new car smell is still pleasant to me, since its nonexistant to me. I say 'most days' because clear out of the blue, the pleasant smells return to me for a day or two... then disappear again.
  5. I wonder how much of a PITA it would be to get one of those here in the USA... probably no worse than a Falcon XB.
  6. Thats what I'm talking about. I'd drive it to MI, but I would schedule it so it was a daylight run.
  7. Just drive during the day. And use hand signals instead of turn signals. I was more concerned with the hood, and the presence of a hood latch. Of course, you could always make up a "temporary" headlight widget that magnets to the hood and alligator clips to the battery.
  8. Cool! Buick Roadmaster... and in burgundy! Seriously, I realise the Gremlin X is the objective... and its quite cool. I had thought the Gremlin X was only pre-'77, but I guess thats not the case, as that has the larger taillights.
  9. West Islip is on Long Island... east of NYC. Guy wants $800... says it runs and drives find... hood can be tied down.
  10. Bosch can he questionable in alot of GM cars... B-bods, H-bods. Not sure about F-bods, but it seems to reason...
  11. Its a V6... it should have 2... one before and one after the cat. Replace the front one... it is the one that affects the engine management. The rear one merely tests the efficiency of the cat. Edit: DF, You only get a code for the O2 sensor if it really goes bad... but they can become quite worn and ineffective without setting a code.
  12. Low fuel pressure becomes a problem with the FI very quickly. Did you replace the filter? Perhaps that would bump it high enough to eliminate it as a problem... I would also try tapping the fuel filter, to knock junk off the element to see if it tickles the problem.
  13. I don't know... if your thinking of letting it go for around what you paid, I may be interested in it. Considering how fast it went downhill, I'm not so sure the problem is that awful... and worst case scenario, I'd stab another engine in it. The car looks to be in good shape otherwise.
  14. This is the greatest comment on the subject I have ever read. Thank you. I have attempted for years to demonstrate this to people, but in a less concise version, and now I can just point them to this.
  15. ...And lets hear it for your new 2012 U.S. President-elect Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho!
  16. Isn't this like reinventing Delco Electronics? Years ago they would have handled this.

    FX: Archer

The previous work, Frisky Dingo, was excellent.
  18. I was waiting for someone to dredge up a thread from the new Ford Model T and someone to post that it'll never sell. Then someone would complain about the quality of the interior materials.
  19. I bought my Pontiac flag on eBay a few years ago... sorry, not for sale.
  20. The line tends to stay pressurized... if you have a leak down, either the pump or a small line leak, the pump can take a few moments to get the pressure up high enough to keep the car running... but once its on for a bit, it'll keep the pressure at a sufficent rate. You can test for this by letting the pump run a minute before starting the car... just put the key in run for a minute... you'll hear the pump in the rear... then start the car.
  21. That would be my next thought. Borrow a pressure tester and put it on the rails' schrader valve. IIRC, you need over 50 psi.
  22. Does it happen mostly when its cold? Last year, I had this problem after I redid my plastic upper intake manifold during the cold months. Mine would start, stall and wouldn't idle unless I gave it a bit of gas... Some days, it would throw a code, lean condition. Apparently something didn't seal perfectly at first and I have a intake leak... causing a slight lean condition. I checked all over and couldn't find it. After a few months, the summer heat and some gumming up seems to have helped seal everything and the problem went away. I assume you have the Series III 3800, so you don't have the plastic intake upper manifold, but if you developed a leak, I think you would see the same thing. The '04 GP in my household is a supercharged, so I can't really account for all the differences between my '99 series II 3800 and your '04 series III.
  23. The are no rabid RWD haters because the FWD people are getting what they want... cheap appliances. FWD haters here wouldn't be so rabid, if there were a few decent, affordable RWD cars from GM.

    Kia K9

Yeah, heard its a real dog. Ba-Bump Ching!
  25. Me either... if I buy Ethanol, I don't want it watered down. Pipelines are notorious for water contamination, and ethanol just sucks the water right in.
