  1. Lincoln improved for the 2nd month in a row. So it's not them. Look at it this way though. The two newer cars from Caddy (ATS, XTS) are more than making up for the volume lost from the two dead models (STS, DTS). Can't wait to see the new CTS hit lots though. Then we'll know if the other two cars are cannibalizing it... or if everyone's waiting for the new one.
  2. The 80s...? As I was reminded last week, that was approximately 30 years ago.
  3. It's not supposed to, either. That's not its purpose. Just like a ZR1 won't out-tow the Silverado.
  4. For $54K (Tahoe), it's not going to help the image any. It hasn't in 6 years, anyway.
  5. I priced out the most expensive 300 V6 I could, and it topped out at $42,770. Above that, you're getting a V8 for your trouble. Most decked-out Charger V6 tops out around $38k. To crest $40k, again, you're getting a Hemi.
  6. I heard "No, we're not going to make 4-door coupes, S-M-L-XL-XXL CUVs/SUVs, X6 fighters, or 5 Series GT fighters." But that could be my optimism flaring up again.
  7. For all the bellyaching about the Impala touching $40K... no one ever held a gun to a customer's head and said "check all the boxes or I'm gonna drop you right here." Nor has anyone kidnapped someone's child and forced them to buy the high-line model on the showroom floor as ransom. Also, I would have figured that people would rejoice over the fact that the Impala was no longer the inexpensive, archaic entry in the large sedan market (an honor previously held by the Ford Panthers). And yet, here we are.
  8. You know, as long as I've been a member of C&G, you guys never let me down. Thanks, all. Appreciate it. AHHHH!!! THIRTY!!!!
  9. Drove out toward Atlanta on Thursday and saw quite a few C-Maxes.
  10. Seems that people figured out that the LX570 is a Land Cruiser plus about $8K worth in badging. Really, they're that similar now. Navigator should be new in a year or so.
  11. Passat or Jetta TDI? But people who buy those usually keep them forever, now that I think of it...
  12. I rarely see second-gen Solaras anymore. The odd thing? I see plenty of the first-gen.
  13. Good news: the infinitesimally small chance that a DNA test could be wrong worked in your favor. This woman's father is a potato farmer from Pocatello. (Had to bring it all back together somehow...)
  14. For comparison's sake, Infiniti G37 has a longer wheelbase than the Nissan Maxima, but the latter is much roomier inside, especially in the back. Longer RWD wheelbases often show their length in the engine compartment rather than in the cabin (hence, proportionately longer hoods and shorter front overhangs).
  15. To be fair, Drew, most of us view the rear as bland because we all saw the front first. It's in our heads.
  16. 3,616 pounds? For the sake of reference, the current Malibu LTZ 2.0T weighs 3660 lbs. I honestly cannot find any objective problems with the car just yet. Cut weight from the previous car, will share platforms to save GM some cash, firmly distanced away from the ATS, highly class-competitive powertrain offerings... I'm still not 100% on the rear design, but that's not objective. That's just me. Bring on the reviews! Also, in b4 SMK complains about it still not being a Mercedes.
  17. Maybe...I really like the short overhang. Me too, really. It's not a bad thing at all, just something that stood out to me.
  18. Stately. I give it about a 97.5/100 from these images. The rear still looks a little plain compared to the rest of the car, but that's the worst thing I can say about it. The blunted nose (compared to the current gen) has to be due to this car going to Europe. Pedestrian regs?
  19. Glad to hear you're well, Cort. News on my end? - A couple of weeks ago I passed my comprehensive exams. One more hurdle to jump now before I can write my dissertation. - We're expecting our second child in September.
