  1. Sorta like how BMW does with the 3 and the 5 Series. I definitely agree with you... offer an engine between the LLT and the V-Series. I think most of us here have been saying the same thing about the current-gen for quite a while.
  2. Cool. That was one of my gripes about the Lambdas: third-row access. Should be easier with this setup.
  3. Nice shots, dfelt. Were my eyes deceiving me, or was that a 2-2-3 seating layout in the Acadia?
  4. So, let me get this straight... 1) Different Hostess employees (bakers, etc.) go on strike. 2) Hostess management warns that if they keep striking, the company will have to shut down. 3) Employees keep striking. 4) Company shuts down. If this synopsis of events is correct (and someone correct me if I missed something), then absolutely everybody loses.
  5. You and me both. And every pastor I've sat under has warned against spiritual nuttiness. Sounds like you've sat under some good Pastors.... Oh, I have. And they would all say "if your child is sick, take them to the doctor! And pray all the way there."

  7. Mid '90s Ford? Yeah, still probably bean counting, unfortunately.
  8. dfelt, you had me at: My apologies for being days late on this one, SMK, but I had to respond: Not directly, no... it was the previous-gen M5's V10 with two cylinders lopped off. So I guess this was a top-down loan. Essentially, it is, but with different manifolds and twin-scroll turbos. Until the S-Class went to the 5.5TT for the S63 a couple of years ago, yes it was.
  9. Even though Christianity teaches that God is a healer, it is also true that God sends people to be physicians for a reason. Even Jesus said that "it is not the healthy who need the doctor, but the sick." Think about it... if while making a bigger point Jesus acknowledged the necessity of the work of doctors, why don't these people? And Luke, who wrote two books of the NT, was a physician by trade. But he was never told to leave his practice because faith would render his work unnecessary. People who suspend common sense while waiting for a miracle ALWAYS do more harm than good. And in the case of these people, their churches are more cultlike than denominational.
  10. DF: was it your Intrepid? If so, given the vintage, don't go near the engineers. Find the nearest bean counter and let 'em have it.
  11. I failed my permit test the first time. Stopping distances. Nailed it the second time. My behind-the-wheel instructor actually didn't test me the first time 'cause he said I made too many mistakes to pass. Nailed it the second time.

I find it to be further-reaching -- and less dumb -- than putting random numbers and colors on Facebook statuses.

I'm on the full beard game right now. I feel older.
  14. Depends when we decide to expand the family again.
  15. You lose a lot of passenger volume for that same basic coin... which is super-important in this segment.
  16. I have the Droid 4. Opted for it because I wanted a Droid and it was the best one available that had a physical keyboard.
  17. Only an eight-year run for EPII? Seems sudden. But if this is a lightening program, then full speed ahead.
  18. Anyone else have the feeling that a 5.5L LTx engine is still in the cards?
  19. I was starting to wonder about you, man.
  20. Why?
  21. Volvo S60 T6 R-Design. All black, and looked like the wheels were smoked too. Absolutely sick. And a ton of new Altimas.
  22. B does not necessarily imply A here...
  23. All I learned from that video is the proper way to pronounce "coupé."
  24. Welp... a cursory search shows that the proper Zulu pronunciation would be [im'pa:la], with the I pronounced as "ee" and the two As pronounced identically, except that the first A is elongated. Also, Zulu has no schwa sound, so the English "im-PAH-luh" would sound markedly foreign compared to "eem-PAAAH-lah." But borrowings are almost never phonetically/phonologically identical from source to target language.
